I went on this ride with my friends once in 6th grade, and some moron stood up and touched the little bridge at beginning of the ride, so they stopped the ride for like 20 mins right at the top of the first hill. And I'm afraid of heights. Guess how that ended. .-.

The only reason this ride is so rough is because it was retracked in ‘85 by the infamous Dinn Corporation, well known for infamous rides such as Dorney Park’s Hercules and Cedar Point’s Mean Streak
This is almost as tall as Down Time and the steep drop is crazy. I think both brings a great thrill to the ride. Boulderdash seems rather similar but faster. Wildcat is a little slower and seems more shaky.
Leap the Dips is the oldest, built in 1902, but it was SBNO for 12 years, so it was operating for 98 years. The Scenic Railway, which is the oldest continuously-operating roller coaster, was built in 1912, meaning it has been operating for 100 years.
That being said there is airtime throughout the ride but in the form of lateral forces just slamming you from side to side which definitely lifts you from your seat, but its more of a feeling of being thrown around rather than lifted straight up from your seat.
Wildcat is way better than both of the woodies at Six Flags. It's got a more rough-and-tumble ride, and there's a crazy ejector-lateral combo where you're yanked out of your seat and slammed to the side at the same time. The final two hills didn't deliver any airtime, but I'm sure this will change as more track is replaced. It's not a big deal anyway, and Wildcat still gets a 9/10. You'll come off this ride thinking it's the greatest ride on the planet. That is, until you ride Boulder Dash.
its not scary. I've been on it. its fun. don't go on anymore since I had back surgery 8 years ago. took away my love for roller coasters but y'all should go on
I have a question. I went on bolder dash and it was awesome even though i am not really the roller coaster type. If i went on bolder dash, is the wild cat bigger or smaller should i be scared????

I want to go on my first rollercoaster ( definitely not one that goes upside down) should I go on wildcat or boulderdash? Wildcat seems like it will damage my back a lot less than boulderdash, but boulderdash seems more interesting and exciting. I can't decide and I'm scared to do both.
0:39 through 0:45 I blacked out. Plus I almost broke my neck and I hit my ear on the side of the cart. But I still love this ride. A family classic I say!

I believe it's being completely retracked for 2013 as well.
The most likely reason it fits ACE's lap bar requirements is that its airtime is NOT Intamin hyper-coaster worthy. The point is that fun doesn't necessarily mean world-class.
It never had a closed day since it was built ? I think you better check your facts because there have been numerous times this coaster was shut down during the low years due to various maintenance problems and the park is completely closed down during the winters.
I’m going here on July 18th and I just want to see if any of these rides are okay. When I went to six flags I went on el toro and I was wondering if this ride was just like that one. They look pretty similar to me. If anybody has any comments on this ride then please tell me what you think so when I go here I can go on this ride feeling ok, or feeling very nervous. 😁
I went on this and I got a big bruise on my right arm. That and my neck was stiff for a few days afterward... it may be a rough ride but its still fun :D
This is the worlds longest living wooden roller coaster. And the worlds longest continuously run park in the world its never had a day closed since it was built...
Lake Compounce should buy Rolling Thunder from Six Flags Great Adventure in NJ and have it put in their park. its closing tomorrow forever and it was built in 1979. people have nerve to say 35 years is old, HA!
The original Wildcat was probably way better than the Dinn Corporation-renovated ride it is today. I hope they hire GCI to redo the hills and make it smoother.

this was my first big coaster i was scared to go on at first btu then near teh end of the day i was liek i wanna go on and my sister came with me and after it i was like i wanan go again!
did this as my first roller coaster and it was fun, my stomach didn’t enjoy the drop but my friend had to hold my hand and i lost my flipflop because we were sitting in tyhe middle and my flipflop went all the way to the front because of its bumpiness
To be honest as someone not fond of super big intricate coasters (loops, huge drops and things like that because i'm a wimp) I probably would enjoy boulder dash and wildcat... However numerous people have said boulder dash and this one hurt and aren't very smooth (which is understandable with them being older wooden coasters). I don't want to go on a ride and be tossed around enough to break my neck and back.
What a lovely layout, could do with a bit more speed to get those "airtime" hills producing more. Thorpe Park in England could do with this type of coaster.

I went on this awesome coaster on 6/15/13 and it was absolutely one very fantastic thrill from start to finish.
I really miss this ride. I haven't been to Lake Compounce in years and it is only a half an hour away from me ;-;

Yes and they replaced the tracks to. The rest of the coaster is smooth but that part.

if u look at the structure when the train goes by, you can see it shake a good bit. that scared me the first time i went on this lol
