You sound like a pretty terrible person. I hope you work on yourself.
Marisa Tomei won an Academy Award for this movie. It’s very rare than a comedy gets nominated for anything, let alone wins an Oscar. She’s incredible in this, as she is in everything.
Yes, she is. Another almost unknown movie that she starred in that was brilliant, is 'Oscar', with Sylvester Stallone. One of Stallone's few comedies, but IMHO one of his best.
In the bedroom is great as well
@@deoncruywagen5191 loved that one
Untamed heart
She accidentally won an Oscar for this. Her name wasn't the one inside the envelope.
As an attorney, I love this movie. No one is the "bad guy" (except the unseen murderers). And it is a fairly accurately portrayal of trials.
The scene with the dripping sink is only there to show how much the Gambinis love to argue and to show the chemistry between Vinny and Mona Lisa. Plus it’s super funny.
... and to give first evidence of Mona Lisa's knowledge of mechanics.
Some people just watch movies with their brains turned off
Vinnie was able to get a good night's sleep in prison because supposedly he was used to the noise of people in a city. It was a constant din, not a sudden sound in the midst of silence. (Many urban dwellers have a hard time getting to sleep when it is too quiet, minus even the sudden noise that wakes up Vinnie.)
Bisscute I stuttered all the way through highschool and after years of speech lessons it was difficult but that scene was funny as hell. Don't feel uncomfortable about laughing, it only hurt me when I knew the intent was to mock or embarrass me. My friends would often laugh when I got stuck on a word but not in a derisive way, often laughing myself
But he also wasn't a very good attorney as witness how he tried to grill the first witness.
I still stutter myself. Often I don't realize how much until I hear my own recordings. There are exceptions. If I have something written in front of me, I hardly stutter. It's when I have to speak off the cuff that it happens
@@JoeCool7835 I am in my 50s now I still occasionally stammer especially when I have had a few too many, but I can Porky Pig my way out pretty easily. I can sense that a word I want to say just isn't going to come out right and quickly think of another word that is similar
The film was written with Vinnie being Dyslexic, and thats partly why it took so long to pass the Bar exam, and partly why it takes him so long to get through the book on proceedures (the dyslexia was cut from the final script, but Pesci still plays him in a way that gives the impression, anyways)
I know that struggle all to well! My dyslexia is one the biggest reason I never pursued any high education after high school.
I'm from NY, and my wife was from Alabama. We lived with her family for a few years. This movie was slightly extra hilarious with her family. My accent is more of an American "neutral", although if I get excited or upset the Brooklyn comes out. We did not need an alarm during duck season.
Classic! Lmao. 🤣. I’m from NY also but my accent is New York. I stuck out like a sore thumb when I go south 😂
I'm with you on the stutterer. As an ex-stutterer (it sometimes comes back with anxiety), I always get sad when I hear someone else stutter in real life. But here, I don't think the joke is "hey! He has a stutter! That's a funny sound!" so much as the fact that it comes out of nowhere. Stan has already lost faith in Vinny, thinks he's safe, and he's left with this guy who stutters (no biggy in itself), spits on the jury by mistake (uhoh), chooses wrong words (big trouble now) and hands arguments to the prosecution. The stutter is just the prelude to the joke, and the punchline is "I'm getting better".
"Can you prove his innocence, though?"
He doesn't have to prove his innocence, even in Alabama.
They have to prove his guilt.
That particular kind of owl is called a screech owl...for obvious reasons.
You have to remember Bisscute, comedy is an over exaggeration of humor. At comedy shows and comedy movies it's all in fun. To let out the tense real world and have a laugh. There is a comic that has a delayed stutter and he's very successful. He pokes fun at himself and he expects you to laugh other wise he's not doing his job lol.
I'm from Detroit and right now I live in a small Alabama town. Huge culture shock.
In order to be able to fully enjoy most comedies, the viewer has to be able to "suspend disbelief", at least to some extent. Some folks can do it easier than others.
“What competition? Your witnesses are dog ass.”
Damn. That’s good. I’m gonna adapt that one for my repertoire of insults. 😅
grits are wonderful. they're mainly eaten in the Southern USA (in history, it was considered food for poor people). i am from Texas and grew up eating this type of food. it is made from hominy which is a type of corn product. then it is dried and ground into a rough meal. then boiled into a porridge. (think of it as a sort of "loose polenta"). grits can be eaten with cheese, shrimp, eggs, pulled pork, bacon, or with milk and sugar as "sweet grits". if you ever have a chance to try grits, do so. some people do not like the texture (it's a little "rough") but aside from that it is a well loved food.
How I grew up eating grits is alongside eggs with the yellow runny. Mix the eggs up with the grits (with salt/butter of course) and it's fire. My wife wouldn't eat grits like that, if she ate grits at all. Then went to a restaurant and she got a breakfast bowl that had grits, bacon, and eggs all mixed up and she was like 'this is great'! I said, yeah, I know. It's the same thing I do at the house that you turn your nose up on.
Have you ever had fried mush?
We had cornmeal mush growing up in East Tennessee. Good eating.
@@chaddnewman2699 i like a bowl of mush on occasions when i'm feeling nostalgic..
This is my favorite comedy of all times. I never get tired of watching it. As a southerner I thought the clash of cultures were a great source of humor. Thanks for the reaction.
The owls that make that sound are appropriately called "screech owls." (I understand foxes make a similar sound at night.)
Yes, I've never heard a screech owl in real life, but I know their cries are notoriously unsettling. Where I live in the UK there are plenty of foxes at night and their screams are totally terrifying when you first hear them. Really does sound like someone being attacked!
The judge is the late, great Fred Gwynne aka Herman Munster!
This movie was loaded full of great actors! Joe pesci is funny and Marissa tome is a gem! Also Fred gwynne is excellent as the judge and Ralph Maccio is great! Great reaction Biss Luv ya!❤💛
As a matter of fact, no joke, they teach this film in Law Schools. It's considered the most accurate portrayal of the courtroom in movies. I think it's great.
"Screech Owls". Yup, they sound just like that.
Oh shit! We going that way with the courtroom movies? Okay, I'm down. We keep going this way, next up will be Doc Hollywood or Cars! 😂 Had no idea what positraction was before this movie.
Miss Bisscute I loved your reaction as always.❤❤ The film was a critical and financial success, with Pesci, Gwynne, and Tomei receiving praise for their performances, with Marisa Tomei even winning the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress. Comedy recommendation for future reactions: Splash starring Tom Hanks and Dary Hannah the pirate woman from Kill Bill😁, I think you'd like it.
I think you would enjoy "The Wedding Crashers". Great comedy with really good chemistry between all the actors.
Just found your channel, you did an excellent job, from the editing to your reaction. I have watched many and your was the absolute best. Thank you & God Bless. 🙏🇺🇸
One of the best comedy's ever made! I just got here so I gotta start it over. Can't wait to see your reaction! ❤🤍💙💛 This is definitely a 8/10 or 4/5. In your defense your not gonna get a lot of the humor unless your a yankee like me or a Southerner. Love watching you!
New Yorkers are used to riot noises when sleeping.
That's a screech owl. True to their name... they make that horrific screeching sound.
*The "Slipping on a banana peel" comedy you're speaking of, is called, "Slapstick Comedy" or "Slap-Stick Comedy". Very physical, goofy comedy. Like, Mr. Bean, The 3 Stooges, Benny Hill.*
44:53 "Barbecue and seafood. Wow. Now that's a _very_ interesting combination."
I've heard that, in the south, they've found a way to deep fry _ice_ cream.
20:11 I never knew that Biss speaking in a Brooklyn accent in a Romanian accent was what I needed to hear. 😂
I like courtroom trials, too. One of my most favorite is Agatha Christie's (the queen of mystery) Witness For The Prosecution, the 1957 version only. (Been at least three versions, which tells you something about how good the basic story is.)
I doubt you will guess the ending.
_Playmate_ is a brand that makes _coolers._ Of course, every issue of _Playboy_ has a centerfold model who is known as "playmate of the month."
Speaking of accents, I absolutely love yours 😅
I love this movie, especially Marisa Tomei, she was exceptional.
Marisa Tomei followed this up with a romcom called ONLY YOU with Robert Downey Jr., and in it she is probably the most beautiful woman I have ever seen.
She Is beautifull!❤❤❤❤❤
This film had such a marvelous cast. Joe Pesci and Marisa Tomei are always fabulous, of course, and I've been a huge fan of Fred Gwynne since I was a little kid watching "The Munsters". My star rating on this is a solid 3.5, mostly due to the amazing performances. When you're ready for a 4.9 star comedy with an incredible ensemble cast, check out Steven Spielberg's "1941" (1979). It's a "Comedy Spectacular". I'm not exaggerating... it says so right on the movie poster.
36:36- I just remembered. That's Superman's boss at The Daily Planet. 39:43- Here we go. Here's the "5 Minutes" scene. 45:50- You really should. The food is so dang good.
I'm sure all three witnesses had been shown the actual car. Showing the black-n-white photo was just to remind them, and to show the jury. (Courtroom cases have been going on long before color photos, long before there were any photos at all.)
The Rainmaker is another really good courtroom film.
And, of course the sub-stories going on in the lives of the main characters.
Austin Pendleton, who plays the temporary replacement lawyer, had a long time stuttering problem himself, and he credited a nonprofit organization called the American Institute for Stuttering for helping him overcome and speak confidently in public. He headlined a movie in 1984 called TALK TO ME that was a dramatization of how the Institute helped with speech therapy, with residuals going back to them.
My favorite courtroom drama, which has never been reacted to, is "Anatomy Of A Murder". Jimmy Stewart vs. George C. Scott. It doesn't get better than that.
you know you got a good lawyer when he is sent to jail with you
I had a good friend when I lived in the the North East of England who stuttered. I eventually trained myself not to interrupt him out of respect. Strangely he was a good singer and never stuttered when he sang. Best wishes Craig wherever you are now.
Hello, Mel Tillis did not stutter when he sang too
@@clutchpedalreturnsprg7710 Nice to know I'm not the only person that remembers Mel Tillis. He was a very talented singer who even managed to use his stutter as a strength. He appeared in several movies, using his stutter for comedic effect.
@@jamesstringer5170 For many years I never knew of his stutter
I'm so glad that you reaction to my favorite funny movie of all times, Good job Princess Bisscute Girl 👑😘💖🌹💮🌼
lol the second the cop pulls a gun and says "hands up!" im a sweaty person. lol
I gave this film a 🌟🌟🌟🌟 ranking because I was stationed in the south US while in the military and i find some of the references hilarious.
Brilliant brilliant brilliant!
This movie is right up your street! Mona Lisa Vito played by Marisa Tomei could be your SISTER Madalina (BISSFLIX) 😂 Can't remember seeing another character more like you!
The judge iis Fred Gwynne,, he played Herman Munster is the TV show The Munsters
You missed the card trick ("brick") when he said the prosecutors case and evidence is an illusion.... it was a diffrent card when he flipped it over than what he started with at the beginning of his speech.
I took criminal justice in college and one of my teachers showed a lol of this movie in class to give us a basic in trial procedure because is it a pretty accurate example in trial format in the US.
The judge played by Fred gynne most famously played Herman Munster in the Tv show the Munsters
When you realized that is their foreplay. 🤣
50:27 I love the look the judge gives Mr Trotter there, it's basically saying "are you gonna dismiss the case, cause if you don't then I'll do it for you"
Getting Stiffed = Someone didn't pay you when they were supposed to.
If Mona Lisa Vito were a former stewardess with a TH-cam reaction channel, she would be your New York twin! ❤😂❤
Happy trees like Bob Ross! 😂❤
Your Commentary during the movie is great Bisscute. I love it.
Glad you are watching this. I have been told it's a favorite among U.S. Lawyers.
I'd give it 5 of 5 stars. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
It's not "Saving Private Ryan" or "Schindler's List" or whatever. It's a low budget comedy with heart, and that can be a very nice thing. I appreciate it.
Well, the thing about the public defender stuttering... it's not that it is just funny that he stutters, because he doesn't stutter most of the time... imho it's the fact that he only stutters in a public speaking environment (something which many people have a phobia about) which makes it far more amusing and relatable...
33:33. It’s called a Shriek owl. That’s what they sound like!🌸🌿
You get stiffed when somebody owes you money, and they don't pay.
She also has a laugh and nice smile too
2 True Stories about this movie.......... 1) My nephew and his college roommate were going back to college when this movie came out, and they almost got arrested traveling through Arkansas on their way to Knoxville wen the police were on I-40 near Little Rock looking for a white Ford Explorer like they were driving. They were not arrested, but were detained for about 45 mins. We got the "Hello, Mom, we need you to talk to the police here with us." call from them that night. 2) The University of Utah "Utes" used the Vinny and the Utes joke during their football and basketball games that year.
i would recommend a serious courtroom drama - The Verdict starring Paul Newman.
A classmate of mine was killed when logs fell off a truck like that and crushed his car.
46:41 "Lisa, please. I'm sorry, okay? I need you to come back into the courtroom, and I need the phone."
You also need to start _appreciating_ this dear woman. Look at all she puts _up_ with from you.
Glad you liked it, one of my favorite movies. :)
Once again Marisa Tomei was pretty, cute, supportive and very smart in "My Cousin Vinnie", "Untamed Heart", "What Women Want", "Unhook the Stars", "Spider Man", "Slums of Beverly Hills" and many, many other movies as well. Joe Pesci was in "My Cousin Vinnie", "Good Fellas", "Home Alone" and few we others. Fred Gwynne was the Judge in "My Cousin Vinnie, and Herman Munster "The Munsters", "Disorganized Crime', "The Cotton Club" etc. and Macchio in "The Karate Kid" and a whole lot more. Also you have to keep in mind that people from the city have always thought that people from the country thought that people from the city.werr just plin stupid. Also that as long as I remember is that guy's do not want to admit that women are equally as smart as they are or even smarter because it makes them feel dumb and stupid. That is what they call "Battle of the Sexes" even though they are both on the same side and not competing against them at all. But anyway back to the picture. But anyway the guy that was a studder practice by practicing how to as well as spitting all over the place and that he was also like Vinnie new to the lawyer business thing too. He was the public defender who said that he will get better as he goes too. Remember about six o'clock in the mornings the stupid rooster will crow to wake everybody up In the movie eailier. People from the country have a tendency to wake up eailier😊 too. Everything is just the oppoy9
Remember you have to remember that this was a comedy that was meant to be funny so you got to take it easy, relax and enjoy. I really hope that you liked it too because Mamacita, I sure did a whole lot too. Have Blessed day Mi Amor. Adios.
Thanks for the info
Marisa Tomei earned every ounce of her Oscar for this film. Its replay value is incredible, even after you know the verdict. This is the most quotable courtroom drama in history. Including A Few Good Men. "Two Yoots!" Tops "You can't handle the truth!" In my book.
20:36 "I think she would be a better _lawyer,_ though."
I had that same thought, many _times,_ when I first saw this movie.
40:15 "Are you _sure_ about that five minutes?!"
But _here_ is where he starts to shine.
40:57 "What is this rusty, dusty, dirty looking thing, over your window?"
And here's _more_ shining.
42:29 "...and _only_ Mrs. Riley, how many fingers am I holding up, now?"
Shine, shine, shine, shine on, Vinny.
I used to have a screech owl in my backyard that would screech like the one in the movie. It liked it because it kept my cotton tail rabbit problem under control.
One of my all-time favorite movies. Always had a thing for Marisa Tomei. Love your reactions, your mannerisms. Highly recommend "Moscow On The Hudson" with Robin Williams. Very funny, very touching comedy about life and everyone in the U.S. is originally from another country (unless you're Native American Indian).
Happy trees like Bob Ross. 😆
41:34 comment, good to point-out happy trees.-Ernie Moore Jr.
Among reactions , your "i'm sure we can find something else" & your expression with it as you said it 😆🙂😆🙂💯.
2:41 lol I am the same way about vehicles like that 😃
For a Hollywood movie, "My Cousin Vinny" conveys a fairly accurate depiction of basic U.S. courtroom proceedings. Of course, a few things are changed for dramatic effect like in every film out there.
Vinny was able to sleep in prison not because he finally got used to sleeping with noice. Ait is the opposite the extreme quiet punctuated with crazy noises was the problem. He is from NY he is used to a constant rumble of sound. He was finally sleeping in a place resembling home.
I had that problem when i moved frpm NYC it easily took a few months to get used to sleeping without noice.
18:12 "What does getting stiffed mean?
It's slang in the US that means you made a deal and the other person didn't do their part.
In this case, the deal was playing pool and a bet for $200.00 was made.
She won but the other guy didn't do his part of the deal and pay her what he owed her.
You'd have gone with the public defender and ended up a crispy bisscute
33:33 they are called "Screech Owls".
believe it or not, they're called a screech owl, and I don't know about Louisiana. Or wherever this is supposed to take place. I guess Alabama, but here in California, they are a real thing, and they sound just like that .
49:17 "Ms. Vito, you can stand down."
"😄😄😄 I think the judge likes a woman that knows, uh, her cars."
A woman who knows her way around an auto garage _is_ quite the rare treasure. The average man tends to view her the way the average woman views a man who knows his way around a _kitchen._
trivia: a roll of ones with a twenty dollar bill wrapped around it is known as a "Michigan bankroll".
Beautiful reaction, as always. Thanks.
18:20 To "stiff" someone is slang for not paying them when they are entitled to be paid. "Getting stiffed" means someone was supposed to pay you but did not.
The fastest Indian..is a true story..and awsome
Nice comedy. Time to smile or laugh for a little while. Enjoy. So nice to see you react to movies as well as your music reactions. LOVE those, for sure. Big shoutout from your hippy dude in the States. Peace and love, Madalina. Take it easy. See ya later.
Most men like a woman who knows cars, especially when they're beautiful and feminine. Her character was very charismatic.
I don't think they were trying to make fun of stutterers, I think it was just trying to show how nervous he gets under pressure. The moment he sits down and talks afterward he's not stuttering anymroe.
Yeah very possible, thanks for watching
This is one of the most accurate court room movie. So accurate many law schools show this to their students.
Fred gwynne, also excellent in Per Cemetery by Steven King! He was an actor way ahead of his tim. In the late 50s or early 60s, he was in a TV show called the Munsters. They tackled some pretty tough social issues back in the day!
Marisa Tomei is so great in this! Have another comedy for you; “Oscar”, which also has her in a supporting role. Seriously funny film with a cast of talent, including Stallone who is the lead. Brilliantly scripted & one has to pay attention because of the underlying humor throughout. Hope you consider, really think you will enjoy it.
I resisted as long as I could, but I finally broke down and subscribed today! 😁
Awe, Shout Out to you for your tribute to Bob Ross n his “happy lil trees n bushes”. That was Bed Bath n Beyond Awesome.
21:16- Bye! She is 139yrs old. She didn't witness nothing but the last supper. 31:23- It's Alabama. Ain't fair, unless you got fair skin. 33:34- Screech Owls do.
Vinny: "And what are these really big things right in the middle of your view from the window of your kitchen to the Sac-O-Suds? What do we call these big things?"
Bisscute: "Happy trees, like Bob Ross." 😄😆😝😂🤣😄
sleeping through the prison riot wasn't about adapting to sleeping through anything. the joke was the noise of the riot was similar to the sounds of new york at night
