I just installed the same brand but the fully adjustable 24 position dampening type. The adjustable ride height lowers from 1-3 inches I set the front to 1" drop with no pre load and it dropped it 3" ! the rear pair I wanted the tower solid and it also is the spare tire mount . In order to use the stock shock tower cross bar the black upper cones were required and needed some custom fitting. and a tad longer bolts to tie everything together solid and tight. I did not like the lack of metal where the top of the shock mounted and could see it would in short order fatigue and crack causing real problems to repair. Also had to cut a access hole in the cones to reach the dampening adjustment. no sense having 24 points of dampening if you cant gain access to dial in your ride.
UHM you cannot just crank the spring pre load up like you did.... im sure that those coils will blow rolling around with spring already preloaded a whole bunch
How did you remove the rear big control arm bushing ? I see you skipped through it but I’m struggling trying to get it out. I know you’re supposed to give it a quick bang w a hammer but the piece is on is aluminum so I don’t want to risk breaking it
Didn't need to remove the upper control arm or sway links to get the front shocks out. If you disconnect the backs and the abs/brake line connectors you have enough room to pull it forward enough to get it out. Also if it's too tight on the other side just loosen the strut at the top on the other side. My coilovers are too tight and had to do it inorder to get it out.
I just ordered a set today,I heard they made them better now also using better fluids too.. but we’ll see. My coilovers that came with my Rx8 back rear leaking the whole thing is covered with fluid ,idk what kind the current ones are been looking at them to see the brand but didn’t have one, they look green and only way to adjust the rear ones you have to take it off at the bottom in order to spin it ( I never seen this style before)
the thing you talking about is just a sensor for when the car is leveled bmw have the same thing in the front i could be wrong but thats what it looks like to me
I just got the same coil overs and this was the first video that showed up when I searched “how to install coil overs on an rx8”
Idk if thats good or bad lol. But hey got a bunch of other videos on my channel. Feel free to take a look
Very helpful come March I’ll be putting my Godspeed on

Humm. What does it do? It has one up front too. Just on the driver side.
@@WZ_TV it’s for your headlights it’s the head light level sensor, if you type in Rx-8 level sensor it’s comes up and it tells you everything
@@waresgarage8590 thank you sir!
Did it end up adjusting in the back?
Mine is doing the same
Haven't done it yet. since I have to replace control arms, I was going to wait.
I have a set really confused on how to lower the back without messing with preload of the springs. They end up getting loose
@@AFkTrooper7 same here, can’t lower the rear there’s like three finger space between wheel and well
@@AFkTrooper7 did anyone figure out how to fix this issue?
