Hello Ades, from good old Keith-USA. Well friend I did finally 🤪 got the Lathe I really wanted, and getting this Lathe into my basement will be a little challenging. Winter is coming soon, I think 🤔 I have your email. Then I can forward you some pictures, when my work shop is finished. Have a great weekend 😀...
I well remember my apprentice instructor demonstrating his ability to turn to within a thou with his steel rule. Took me quite a while to copy him! I like your trick with the small end step, Ade.
A totally enjoyable video. I like the way you take the time to explain your setups, your plan and your execution. Keep up the great videos and thank you.
Thanks Nigel. I had a feeling that the flat bar may bend like a banana when turning it and relieving the stresses so I just went straight to the round bar option . Cheers Ade.
I was sat munching a sandwich at Newgale Beach only yesterday and wondered if you were ok, and here you are, back in your shed, I'm glad you're back from your well earned break - Ade you never cease to show how to accurately make a part and use your ability to improvise. I have also used the radius cutting method by making a spigot. Looking forward to your next instalment :-)
I went to Newgale today and Broadhaven on the way home . Newgale is 7 mins from my house . that view as you go over the top and the sea is in sight warms me every time . Cheers Ade.
Well done Ade, great end result. Agreed on the round bar, much easier to work with. Glad you are on the mend and great to see you back in the workshop. Cheers, Jon
Hi Ade glad that you are finally back again. The workshop has been empty. It has been a long month of waiting for new projects. Greetings from Kenth in Sweden.
Hi Ade, glad you are ok. I have been scratching my head over this, have started it with the stock metal, done the flats and holes in the mill first then thought I would set it up in the 4 jaw to do the turning. Was planning to do the radii on a rotary table. Will be buying some half inch round bar now though! Thanks Ade, really well thought through job. regards gareth
I'm glad to see you're doing well and back in the shop! I hope your 'out of the way' parallel is OK, because it looks like you bumped with the drill at around 36:35. Yeesh, Ade. The boss might have to write you up for all of the safety violations (mostly messing about with the cutter still engaged) in this one! 🤣🤣
Gday Ades, glad your feeling better and it’s great you had a holiday, really enjoying this series, I’m not far off starting a Webster engine build, I’m picking up ideas on how to do things, thanks for sharing as always mate, Cheers
I tried to use the rectangular bar but clocking in the ends in a 4 jaw to center drill was just off so turned section was off the 1/4 width. I need to do over and maybe try your method. No power feed so lots of hand cranking though to mill. Thoughts on making brass and not steel?
My ex found swarf under my parallel,it was totally the wrong angle for her, think that was why she tripped up and fell on some other blokes parallel, every cloud has a silver lining i say!! ;-)

I see what you mean . It did move but it did not feel like I hit it and no damage to drill or parallel. cutting it fine ey. Cheers Ade.
Well worth the wait Ade. Thoroughly enjoyed, more soon please.
Another on Friday . Cheers Ade.
I just checked Sunday to see if TH-cam had unsubscribed me like they have done other channels but I was still subscribed.

Phosphor bronze would be awesome . 12mm would work .Cheers Ade.
@@ade63dug Where did you get the small hold down clamps for that little vise(vice)? Have one but no good clamps or material to make really.
@@gvet47 I did have to make them . I did a video on it if you look at my older video's . Cheers Ade.
@@ade63dug Just reviewed the clamp video. Very sweet and the indexing feature tops it off. You just do top notch work!
Couldn't you have offset the tailstock for such a small taper Ade?
