Great makes! I love how your personality is coming through more and more. I love a good giggle and never take myself too seriously 😂 that black top is 🔥 on you. Gorgeous!
Love all of your July makes 🥰 you always choose such lovely fabrics which work so well with the patterns. You seem so much more relaxed in front of the camera recently and your vlogs are a joy to watch especially the funny moments 😅 keep them in, don’t edit them out. Have a good week with your children x
Your New Craft House dress was stunning, and it was great to see it in person and find out that your suspenseful tale ended so well! It was lovely to meet you!
Such fabulous makes!! Loved this video! The Pauline dress is stunning!!!! Using the bodice and adding a gathered skirt was genius and it looks incredible! Happy anniversary! Hope you had a well deserved celebration!!
Lovely makes Amelia, thanks for your video. I love your swimsuit the fabric is beautiful. Keep enjoying your summer and family. Congratulations on the wedding anniversary. ❤️❤️
Thank you Julie. I have been so pleased with the swimsuit. It has held up really well over the summer with lots of use! Thank you so much for watching. ❤
Gorgeous makes. I love your taste in dress making. You are always so elegant. As an Italian lady I like seeing beautifully made garments as yours always are
Hi Amelia, loved all your makes. Loved the beautiful, colourful fabrics you used. Your anniversary dress is absolutely gorgeous and you bathing suit is so flattering. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Amanda. I think we sewists are always so critical of our makes! I am so much more pleased with the second version I made though. Looking forward to sharing it soon!
I love the statement - I didn't make a toile. I have kids. I don't have time for that. LoL truer words were never spoken !!! love the dresses though ! can't wait to see what it looks like when it fits better. 💞💞
Fab video. Great makes and I really enjoy seeing your personality shine through. I also loveyour observations/critiques. Your Pauline dress is especially gorgeous!
I think I am just like you: if I don't get a sew "just right" the first time, I do it again. It must be perfect, right? I soooooooo love your makes, and I do think I need to try that Style Arc sundress. I have made several Style Arc patterns and maybe I just got lucky, but I did not have problems with instructions. Probably just luck, as so many times I go to my laptop and look for you tube sew alongs. Those are so helpful. Thank you for sharing your lovely makes. If you like shortie vests, the Style Arc Joy Vest is great! And if I can sew that, I know you could with their instructions. It does really work, even though I did not think I could turn out a whole garment(it is fully lined) through that small side opening, but it worked- LOL. Keep sewing.
Ooh, thanks for the recommendation, I will check out the Joy vest! It is good to hear you have had a good experience with Style Arc. I love their Belle Dress so maybe I will give their patterns one more try!
Hi Amelia! Cute bathing suit! I love the added ruffle. The Atlas tops are so pretty… great way to use up scraps! I’m always looking for shorts or a little dress for my granddaughter out of my scraps. She told me recently, “I love that you make me things; sewing me things and knitting me things!” She’s 4 so that made my heart smile🥰
Your Pauline dress is absolutely beautiful. I have 5 metres of this print and have been trying to find inspiration to make it. Initially I was thinking a shirtdress like the Cashmerette Lenox but now I'm thinking fit and flare. The fabric is stunning and the Pauline was the perfect pattern to show off this print.
Thanks Ruan! I was so sad about the Style Arc pattern as they have some great looking patterns, but after this experience I am not sure I am going to try another one!
You are so inspiring, and I love watching your videos. I enjoy seeing what you've made. With as much of a perfectionist that I am thinking you are, it is nice that you also show that everything doesn't always turn out perfect, and when that happens it's ok. Love that you are motivated to get it right. Thanks for making me smile today.
Thank you for your lovely comment Dawn. I am glad you enjoyed the video. I think it is so important to show the realities of dressmaking. Sometimes it doesn't go to plan!
Your "accomplishments" this month were an embarrassment of riches 😃 so BEAUTIFUL! What a fit you always achieve Amelia - an inspiration to us all 😊 Gorgeous fabrics. Your Ashley dress and headdress was stunning in that lovely mix of pinks that suited you to a t; your Pauline dress for your anniversary celeb was beautiful and I loved that cross over top with your brumby skirt. You look like a flower garden in spring in handmade wardrobe this summer. Your bathing suit is lovely too! On a personal note, you are looking very tanned.- I'm sure as a New Zealander you must be wearing lots of spf so I knew you must be spending an incredible amount of time outside with the children 🥰 I found this spf by supergoop that gives you a fake tan while giving you 40+ protection.
Thank you so much Kathleen. It was a very blue, floral month this month! I really like the Atlas/Brumby combo. It feels fun and trendy, but without too much revealing of flesh! 🤣 We are having a lovely outdoors summer. So nice to have the weather for it this year!
Wow you have had a very productive month! I love everything you have made especially the dress from the McCalls pattern. I am going to check out those top patterns. Thanks for sharing!
Oops there’s another pattern I need to buy after telling myself I was on a pattern ban! The Pauline dress looks amazing and I prefer the way you have done the skirt. The cut out back is cute and not too revealing, love it!
As always, loved the vlog Amelia. You had some amazing makes, and powered through sparse patterns and persevered! I love how crisp and neat all of your garments are! You're a wonderful sewists, and this was great motivation as I sit cutting out a pattern! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Amelia. Thank you so much for your informative videos. I was very pleased with all of your makes, ( as usual) and blown away when you said you saved the best for last??? What?? That was hard to imagine because I ohhhed and ahhhhed over each piece! Even the dress that perhaps had a slight fitting issue had distracted me through the whole video. Then I saw what you meant...when you pointed it out! But that beautiful fabric and your lovely face really did pull any attention away from the issue. Please do wear it. It's amazing. Now, having said that I am in complete agreement about the instructions, or lack thereof. And to not have the fit correct ALSO?? I would understand if they were a new company figuring things out but they have been around long enough to have Nailed it. I am not as experienced sewist as you and I lean on the numbers hard!! Things like this keep me using my certain pattern companies that I can trust. PS. Love Notions has a Tempo Sundress that has the same attributes!!! I vouch 100 percent for them. I enjoy your videos very much. Thank you for such detailed examples!
Thank you so much Vicki. It is so reassuring to hear that others have had the same experience with Style Arc. I am glad you enjoyed the makes - the Pauline dress is such a favourite! I will look up the Tempo sundress, I think they have a child's version too which I might try!
Love the fabric in the Ariana dress you are wearing throughout the video. Thank you for sharing your lovely makes and congrats for tackling a StyleArc pattern :) you are not the only one who struggles with their instructions. Our local stockist has commented to them directly to Style Arc here 🇦🇺. The dress looks beautiful all the same. The Pauline dress AND fabric are GORGEOUS!
Oh my Gosh! You are so right about those instructions on the Ariana. So sparse! I have made Style Arc patterns before the instructions were so much better on those. I looked at the Minerva sew along sooooooooooo many times, just to get started. Making my muslin of the bodice right now. Wish me luck. Yours is gorgeous. Anxious to see the one on the manikin.
Thank you so much Theresa! I would like to try another Style Arc pattern some time, hopefully it will redeem my experience with this one! I am sharing a video on Saturday with the second Ariana dress I made, so I hope you enjoy seeing it! 😊
Loved seeing your makes for July N seeing everyone has some sewing dramas N I also learnt of new sewing pattern companies to try Thankz Caroline Norfolk Uk
Such great makes Amelia but don't give up on Style Arc patterns , their choice is amazing and so on trend . I am fairly new to sewing and have successfully made two of their patterns, neither of which needed to be fitted.. I love the Montana dress, so easy to both sew and to wear, but I have had my eye on the Ariana sundress for quite some time...... just not sure if I am skilled enough to give it a go. Maybe next year. Think yours looks lovely and looking forward to see your second version.
Thank you so much for your comment. I do really love Style Arc patterns. You are right they are often so on trend. I will probably try another one some time. The Ariana was fine with the help of the two video tutorials. I hope you enjoy making it if you decide to give it a go!
Your makes are beautiful you pick gorgeous fabrics, i love the ariana dress the last dress you showed is beautiful and your black top is lovely you so professional in your sewing, great video x
Thank you so much Judith, that is so kind of you. I really enjoyed wearing the Ariana and it will be nice to have two in wardrobe, even if that wasn't the original plan! 😂
Absolutely beautiful makes! I love your atlas tops and the other one you made looks fab too. In the SOI summer dreaming ebook there is the Sienna dress which is basically the same as the style arc one you've made. I've not made it before so not sure on what the sizing is like but I'm sure it would be the same construction if you needed the guide. Xx
Thank you so much Karen, I am so glad you enjoyed the makes and the video! I need to see if I can have a look at the Sienna instructions. I got there in the end with the Style Arc one, but I definitely did my own thing at the end, instead of following the instructions! Thanks so much for watching. x
That navy dress is everything 😍 a fabulous make and a wonderful video as always. I was worried about getting ! Stylearc pattern, based on reviews, so I was waiting to see what you thought of them. Glad I held off now!
Lovely makes as always Amelia. I can understand your frustration with the Style Arc instructions, i am having a similar problem with Fibre Mood instructions, the blouse has been threatened with the bin!! Your Pauline dress is beautiful, i made it in teal linen earlier this year for a wedding. Such lovely details. Thank you.
The Pauline in a linen sounds gorgeous!! It is so frustrating when the instructions are not clear. I hope you are able to get your project finished. Thanks for watching! ❤️
I absolutely love your videos I’m sat laughing out loud watching you try and get your mannequin to “behave “ lol . I’ve just purchased the Ariana dress and had it printed in a size 12 I’m now a little concerned about the fit so I may need to size down so hopefully by watching this video I may have saved myself from being disappointed with the fit so thank you Amelia and keep doing your vlogs they are so helpful and entertaining xxx
You make such beautiful things and I love them all. The dress you are wearing is such beautiful fabric. If you hadn't mentioned the little faults I would have never have noticed, particularly has it is a busy fabric. It's so annoying isn't it when you had checked the finished garment measurements only to find they don't fit has it should. Loved the black top and I was thinking it would look great in a white fabric. However I do think a white lace insert would look amazing. As in the previous comment love the Up/Down/Up Down with the mannequin. Does she have a name? 😊
Thank you so much Elaine. I think we sewists can be so critical of our own makes. I think the Ariana will still get lots of wear over the summer, and you can't always get it right! Thanks so much for watching.
i haven't sewed a lot with style arc patterns but i have heard that they include an excessive amount of ease. such a pain when your garment turns out bigger than you expect! i made the Siena set from Sew Over It, which looks very similar to your SA pattern and it fit me pretty well.
Thank you! I will look at the Sew Over It one. It is such a shame about the Style Arc pattern experience as they have so many lovely patterns I would love to try!
Always enjoy your videos and the timing for this one is perfect as I received the style arc Ariana pattern yesterday just in time to sew up a top for my daughter. panicked when I saw the (lack of )instructions. Ive found Andrea @beyondthepinkdoor video and will definitely be toiling first! Lovely makes in this one and you looked to be having fun too!
Loved this. All your makes and your information were brilliant.Everything you made looks beautiful on you.The first dress was so pretty and the crown and those stunning shoes finished the outfit perfectly.Do you mind me asking where you bought the shoes from? I like your hair dried naturally .
I’ve had the same problems with the Ariana dress. I’m going to make a size down next and have lowered the bust point by 2.5cm as I think this will help more than a small bust adjustment. Haven’t made it yet but hoping it will work.
It is so reassuring to hear others have had similar issues with Style Arc patterns! Making a smaller size has definitely helped with the fit - looking forward to sharing in my next makes video!
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed the vlog. The Ariana sundress does come as a top version too. It is very cropped, but I am sure you could lengthen the pieces to make more of a cami - it would be so pretty!
As usual, your makes are gorgeous - even the ones you don't like as much. And you have such a big personality! I giggled and hit rewind several times. Hugh Grant ought to discover you and do a dramatic comedy with you! What is your mannequin's name? I didn't catch it. By the way, I especially love the fabric for the McCall's dress, but all are so lovely!
Thank is so kind of you Mary! My mannequin's name is Dolly, and she is a real workhorse in my sewing room. I loved working with the bright fabric for my McCalls dress, and it is such a happy make to wear too.
When I found your channel at the end of last year, I loved it so much that I gradually went back and watched all your videos. Therefore, I remember how quiet and a little nervous you were at first in front of the camera. That’s all changed now! I giggled as I watched parts of this video, rewound, and giggled again! I felt like I was in the room with you. Keep up the good work!
Hi Amelia I’ve made my Ariana dress and I truly truly love it, however I struggled with the instructions from style arc so I watched both Minerva and Andrea’s vlog, but I still could not fathom out how to ‘sandwich’ the skirt button placket I the the bodice when attaching the bodice to the skirt. Have you any tips or advice , I really want to make another one before my hols so any advice would be great, thank you in advance. Xx
Hi Anne! That was the part I really struggled with too, as the way it is constructed up to that point made it impossible to sandwich! The Minerva video looked like it just sewed it straight on and overlocked it, which worked fine in the end. Hope you get yours made up in time for your holiday!
@@sewamelia hi Amelia thats just what I did in the end and it worked fine .I now have two gorgeous dresses and I can see more coming . Thank you for your advice . Xx
Thanks for making me smile on Saturday morning Amelia. Loved seeing your makes. Up/Down/Up/Down with your mannequin 🤣
Thank you Samantha, I am glad you enjoyed the vlog! ❤️
Great makes! I love how your personality is coming through more and more. I love a good giggle and never take myself too seriously 😂 that black top is 🔥 on you. Gorgeous!
Thank you so much! Life's too short to not have a good laugh at myself now and then! 😂 The Sylvie top is such a pretty pattern.
What a wonderful vlog Amelia...you are such a joy to listen to of an afternoon. So cheery and positive. Thank you, such an inspiration.
Thank you so much for watching! I am glad you enjoyed the vlog. ❤️

Thank you so much Chloe. It was so lovely to meet you at the party and I was so relieved that I got my outfit finished in time!
Beautiful dresses and gorgeous fabrics xx
Such fabulous makes!! Loved this video! The Pauline dress is stunning!!!! Using the bodice and adding a gathered skirt was genius and it looks incredible! Happy anniversary! Hope you had a well deserved celebration!!
Thank you so much Rachael. I love the Pauline dress so much and it was so special to be able to wear it for our anniversary night away. What a treat!

Thank you so much, that is very kind! I do like to finish my garments as beautifully as I can.
Oh my goodness, you're makes are gorgoeus this month. I really like how you customised the Sylvie top, it looks beautiful on you.
Thank you Melissa. I really like the Sylvie top!
All lovely makes! I am amazed at how much you get accomplished with three young children, and not easy makes either! Amazing!
Thank you Lynn. Sewing is definitely my sanity time, especially during the summer break!
Wow a super productive month! Such gorgeous makes, but the lady dress is amazing, beautiful pattern and fabric pairing xxxx
Thank you so much Claire. The Lady McElroy fabric is so beautiful, I couldn't resist it!! 😍
Hi Amelia, loved all your makes. Loved the beautiful, colourful fabrics you used. Your anniversary dress is absolutely gorgeous and you bathing suit is so flattering. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much Suzanne! I really love the Coralie swimsuit. I will definitely be making another one next summer!
Your makes are lovely. Even your sundress. I am sure it fits much better than a shop bought dress in that style. Stunning anniversary dress x
Thank you so much Amanda. I think we sewists are always so critical of our makes! I am so much more pleased with the second version I made though. Looking forward to sharing it soon!
Some gorgeous makes! You've been busy!!
Thank you! It was a busy month!
Yes, I feel exactly the same about Style Arc.
Good to know it is not just me!
Love your makes I have made a few Style Arc and have always had to down size one or two sizes especially in pants. You make beautiful garments.
Thank you so much Susan. That is helpful to know! ❤
I love the statement - I didn't make a toile. I have kids. I don't have time for that. LoL truer words were never spoken !!! love the dresses though ! can't wait to see what it looks like when it fits better. 💞💞
I would love to have the time to make toiles, but life is too short! 🤣
Fab video. Great makes and I really enjoy seeing your personality shine through. I also loveyour observations/critiques. Your Pauline dress is especially gorgeous!

Hi Amelia-loved your video and in particular loved your Pauline dress with the changes you made-such a cute style! 🥰😘
Thank you Judy, I am glad you enjoyed the video. The Pauline Dress is such a pretty pattern, I am glad I finally gave it a go!
Always enjoy watching your vlogs! Thank you for sharing 💞
Thank you so much for watching! ❤
Love that Sylvie top.
Thank you!
Fabulous makes, love the Pauline dress x
Thank you Karen. I think that is my favourite from this month.
Oh, that is the sweetest! It is so lovely that you make for your granddaughter, what a gift! ❤️
such lovely makes, thank you for sharing 😊
Thank you Theresa! They were fun ones to make this month.
Thank you so much! I really love the dress and the fabric is so delicious! I really hope you find the pattern you love for your fabric too! ❤
Beautiful makes as always Amelia! Those pink shoes 💗. I’ve always been scared of Style Arc patterns so I’ll stay clear unless I’m up for a challenge 🤣
Thanks Ruan! I was so sad about the Style Arc pattern as they have some great looking patterns, but after this experience I am not sure I am going to try another one!
You are so inspiring, and I love watching your videos. I enjoy seeing what you've made. That atlas too looks fabulous and as you say perfect for smaller pieces....giving it a try asap!
Yay! I hope you enjoy making your Atlas top. I am a bit obsessed with it now. 😂 Thanks for watching!
Gorgeous fabrics & makes💓

Thank you! I will look at the Sew Over It one. It is such a shame about the Style Arc pattern experience as they have so many lovely patterns I would love to try!
@@sewamelia i think SOI patterns are even on sale right now. it's in the summer dreaming ebook
Thank you from Michelle in Australia
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for a lovely video most enjoyable
Thank you for watching Robyn, I am glad you enjoyed it!
Nice makings Amelia
Thank you!
Thank you, I am glad you enjoyed the vlog! I am glad it was helpful and that you have found Andrea's video tutorial- it's a great one! ❤️
Your "bigger" sundress can be worn in the fall with a shirt under it! It is perfect. Great makes!
Thank is a great idea. Thank you!
Loved this. All your makes and your information were brilliant.Everything you made looks beautiful on you.The first dress was so pretty and the crown and those stunning shoes finished the outfit perfectly.Do you mind me asking where you bought the shoes from? I like your hair dried naturally .
Thank you Maureen. The shoes were bought from Boden a few years ago now. They are so fun to wear. Thanks for watching!
Everything came out beautifully, what is the name of the paper you used to sew the lace please thank you 😊
Thank you so much! I have put a link to the paper I used in the description box under the video.
Amelia, great video. Thank you. I love the dress you have on. I would love to make it as a cami. What do you think?
Great video.
Thank you Marilyn!
Could you please let me know what fabric you used for your gorgeous snap front sundress? Thank you for your time.
It was a lovely deadstock cotton from Sew Me Sunshine but unfortunately it is out of stock now.
@@sewamelia Thank you.
Xx

I am not sure I understand. There are photos of my makes throughout the video.
