Hahaha, thanks for the name drop. Blows my mind that Toyota don't change these filters as part of the standard servicing. A mate, who's a diesel mechanic, first change mine when the misses borrow the car to head up to Port Macquarie from Sydney. The filter light came....He through in an after market Donaldson filter and binned the bottom bracket. What a legend....Not. Anyway new bottom bracket etc. is about $60 RRP from Toyota all up. Will fit it next time i change the filter (probably after the next big trip).
@8:10, one possible word “knurling”, or anti vibration nut. Eliminates the need and of course cost of a spring washer. At least that is something less to drop into the engine bay. I lost a nut “down there” when working on the 120 series engine bay. 2007 model @ 366,000 klms and still working amazingly well. What a pity about the DPF problems on 2015-2020/2021 Fortuner, Hilux and Prado. Obviously this cost them with the class action lawsuit. I hope they (the manufacturer) has learnt a lesson here. They handled the situation with quick fixes which were rubbish, not what I would expect from them.
What did the manufacture do wrong? and what is the lesson? everybody else needs to learn a lesson and not buy vehicles with DPF’s especially as soon as they come out all brands of been having problems with DPS for decades why doesn’t someone have a class action on Subaru Nissan etc many other brands now the consumer pays the new vehicle price goes up to pay for it nobody wins anything same as all the money handouts the taxpayer pays for those that can afford at least hi friend and so does everybody else
Very thorough. A 40 minute video for a 10 minute job. Thanks.

Suggested mod is to fit some NutSerts so you don't have those pesky nuts....
👍👍 and use a paint pen.
I call it my "middle finger". No need to make it complicated.
Index (or pointer), middle, ring, pinky (or little).
I call that finger tall man
If you're a weakling 🤣
