1861-1865 USA had the war between the states also called the civil war. 1914-1918 World War 1.1918-1919 flu epidemic killed over 50 million people world wide. 1930's Germany invades some countries.1939 Germany invades Poland, Netherlands and France. Later war with USSR. Near end of 1941 USA invaded by Japan and begins it's war with Japan and Germany. War ends in 1945. With Netherlands freed from Germany their life expectancy goes up. Early 1950's Korean War with USA, UK, China and some other countries involved. After that France involved in Vietnam War and later USA. 1990's Kuwait had a civil war and was invaded by Iraq.

Life expectancy in the 1800's was heavily influenced by the horrendous child mortality. In many places 2 in 5, maybe more, children died by the time they were 5 years old. If it were possible it would be interesting to see a video showing life expectancy for people who who reached 18yo.
Adding also to that are deaths that occurred relating to childbirth, and that goes back further in history.
I waas wondering that 1 looking at it. Many People Are Stiill Living into Their Late Seventies and Eighties, When You Look at Historical Figures, Even Though Most of Those WWere Probably above Middlle-Claass.

Nicolás Gregori well shit I’m from the Maldives.

Me: "Long live the NORDS!"
Australia: "Hold my vegemite!"
Spain and Peru: hold my avocados
Keep in mind the data is heavily skewed due to high infant and toddler morality rates for the first 120 or so years especially in the early to mid 19th century, so people didn't automatically start to drop dead at 40 years old. That said people who lived into their late 80s back then were considered very, very old, like someone living to 115 years old today.
Damn if life expectancy in the UK was 38.6 in the 1800s, then how did Isaac Newton who was born in the UK in 1643 lived till the age of 84. These averages probably include child deaths, which lower the average by a lot. In averages that leave out infant deaths the life expectancy increases dramatically. If you could survive being a child, you would probably live even into your 60s. (This only matters more the further back you go, and matters less now)
Some died young and some died older so those both affect estimates. Whenever there was a war or plague of some type life expectancy went down also.
It surprises me to find out that Peru is the third country with the most life expectance to future... mostly because I'm peruvian and relatively young lol

In the US, smoking peaked in about 1969, with 45% of people smoking when the surgeon general’s report linking smoking to cancer and heart disease was published. Japan has a VERY different cultural mind set than the United States.
Their elderly are revered, not hidden or minimized. Age is viewed as reflective of wisdom and purpose, as opposed to a burden or demographic requiring perpetual care.
Japan's deference for authority also differs sharply with the United States proclivity for maximizing individual freedom and personal liberty. 😏
