the problem with the wealth of each person is that it is not real money they have on their bank accounts but (in most cases) just speculative numbers based on the value of stakes they hold in their companies. that is why elon musk suddenly reaches 300 billion dollars and right after falls back to 100 billion dollars. that doesn't mean he spent 200 billion dollars. it is just because tesla's stock value dropped.
@fudgepacker i do not think that elon musk could go to a shop, order a 300 billion dollars product and pay for it. it is imaginary money they will never hold in their hands. the numbers just describe the momentaneous value of their belongings. nobody is going to pay them that money to buy their property.
But is 'real' money actually real wealth? Cash is just paper and coin representing a value, like a token. It isn't actually valuable itself. Monies are rarely if ever made from gold and silver anymore.
@@storbokki371 Well yeah but at least tokens are palpable, they are a proper thing. Stake values are virtual. There's simply no way Elon Musk would have been able to acquire 300$ billion ever.

It was very interesting to see the skyrocketing of asset values from no one being over 10B to many being hundreds of billions in a decade. The question is, since we know there is no grounding of these numbers in tangible growth and profitability, how long before it crashes?
Most of that wealth is in stocks and assets. As long as the products they are producing are selling and their companies profitable, their wealth is secured. All of them could lose that wealth, though, should the world decide differently. Like, say, no one bought anything from Amazon or it's subsidiaries, and they decided to be a bit more independent, Bezos would likely loss some wealth or he would transfer it to sometbing else.

the problem with the wealth of each person is that it is not real money they have on their bank accounts but (in most cases) just speculative numbers based on the value of stakes they hold in their companies. that is why elon musk suddenly reaches 300 billion dollars and right after falls back to 100 billion dollars. that doesn't mean he spent 200 billion dollars. it is just because tesla's stock value dropped.
All this graphic is stock value
Exactly, if you're "worth" $200 billion in shares, and you sell all of those shares, the proceeds are not adding up to $200 billion :D

Now do a sliding scale comparison from 1980-present of the gap between rich and poor and disappearing middle class.
Middle class actually started to do better after 1980. Now with inflation and high prices, and lower income average that's occurred from January of 2021 to today, middle class is hurting.
@@thecensoredmuscle563 MIddle class was not doing that well in the last 30 years, real income was stagnant for quite a while
Bill Gates- The 🐐 of billionaires.

Great video 👍🏾
What’s crazy is how some of these companies have 2-3 people on the list. INSANE growth
The fact that louis vutton is the richest man in the world shows the massive gap between the rich and the poor. Theres so many more rich people now, this is the first time a luxury fashion brand has been so successful. Social media and the internet has made so many millionaires, these millionaires are the only ones who can afford luis vuitton and they just made him the richest guy
As a Japanese, I am proud that the top 3 up to June 1987 were all Japanese.
Lol
How much of that did you see?
Proud of what...? Of them exploiting thousands of people...?
@@blahblahmeowchow6383 Different culture. The Japanese don't view wealth the same way others do. To the Japanese honor and respect is above everything else. This is why a street cleaner in Japan is just as passionate about his job as a CEO of a big company is.

Kind of wild that the 2 richest ever didn't come onto the scene until a few years ago.
Buffet to me has always seemed gracious about his wealth, while others flaunt it.
Good old Bill Gates seems to be up there the most , I didn't realise how quickly Tesla value dropped, as has Jeff Bezos, never would of thought designer label would be top though. I noticed that the list didn't include the sultan of Brunei, he was the richest man in the early 90s as said in the Guinness book of records.
Interesting! As for the Sultan, I haven't included royal families on purpose.
Warren buffett is a G.O.A.Ted business man, he stayed in the list for decades and never even moved out of the list.
This is amazing🚀👊
When you think about billionaires Bill Gates will always come up first in your mind
Specially in 1997-2000 he was richer than the 2nd and 3rd richest man combined lol

The moment when you are realising that a large percentage of everything that you earned so far goes to these people...
Depends what year
If only I could get a million from one of them, it’s nothing, I’m not asking for a lot 😂
you wouldn't be enough, believe me
There is 7.8 billion people in the world. The richest person in the world could give a billion dollars to each person and it would still be just a small percentage of their wealth. But if every person had a billion things would be devalued, everything would become way more expensive and a billion would be like nothing.
great videos man. i wish the best and i have a important question how do you find all these datasets? Cause I also want to study Data Science Master Program and i really need new and interesting datasets like these.
Where can I see such a real time running stats of the product
It was very interesting to see the skyrocketing of asset values from no one being over 10B to many being hundreds of billions in a decade. The question is, since we know there is no grounding of these numbers in tangible growth and profitability, how long before it crashes?
world crashes, they dont
Most of that wealth is in stocks and assets. As long as the products they are producing are selling and their companies profitable, their wealth is secured.
All of them could lose that wealth, though, should the world decide differently. Like, say, no one bought anything from Amazon or it's subsidiaries, and they decided to be a bit more independent, Bezos would likely loss some wealth or he would transfer it to sometbing else.

Just based on his shares, he cannot sell them though, imagine what would happen to the share price if he tried to sell all his shares.

Jobs eventually sold a vast amount of Apple Stock after they fired him from the Board. In the meantime Jobs was CEO and biggest shareholder of PIXAR. Eventually years later he came back to apple. But his wealth came mostely from his disney stocks which came from the Disney Pixar fusion I recall...
