It is another amazing engine from Lionel and I'm glad I added this to my collection as well. A great review Sean, and you give a lot of detailed explanations of all sorts of topics adding a lot to the O Gauge modeling community!
Great engine I received my royal blue from Ro last week. All three car sets should be coming in hopefully soon. Thank you for the review and you have a great layout.
Very nice, Sean! That is a wonderful, little engine. Lionel gets things right, at least once in a while. B&O always had the coolest paint schemes for their passenger trains, even better than the Southern Pacific and this one is pretty much spot-on. It will be interesting to see how the passenger cars come out. The whistle steam is a nice touch on the newer locomotives and the chuffs sound good. Even though I run conventional, I've been thinking about getting one of the older, TMCC switchers, so I don't have to fuss around with the E-units, while switching in the yard. An excellent review and video, as always.
Thanks for this great review of the new Lionel Ten Wheeler, Sean. It's a very nice looking loco and the blue colour is very good. Like all the features you activated. A super little engine!
Beautiful locomotive. Thanks for sharing. That packaging though.... thin boxing, now cheap wrapping.... soon they will be shipping them in a bag full of popcorn lol
Beautiful Ten-Wheeler Sean! Nicely proportioned and with a great paint scheme! Congratulations! Hey, you know what would look good behind it until the B&O cars show up? Try some Pullmann heavyweights if you have any, Pullmans go with anything! Thanks for posting!
Nice addition Sean! I agree with your thoughts on the Blue comet fantasy schemes. I love the NJC engines, but I do think that they need to cut back on doing the blue comet for a while
Very nice model and I enjoy your videos very informative. On this model I feel Lionel has placed the Marker lights to far back from the front of the boiler. If you look at other manufactures their Marker lights are closer to the front of the boiler. These look out of place. Hope you have recovered from your bug.
Very nice man! I also got the new Legacy 4-6-0 in the NYC & HR Russian iron blue paint job. Very happy with it but just wished these models had the swinging bell feature. My legacy H10 has the whistle steam and swinging bell. Would’ve been the perfect engine but still good.
My wife ordered the Royal Blue passenger car set. Shortly after she found the MTH 4-4-0 Royal Blue engine, which I think is also based on a NYC prototype and decided to buy it for the train. The 4-6-0 wheel arrangement is correct for the turn of the century Royal Blue train, but the Lionel 4-6-0 just looks too beefy compared to the engines used on these trains, like it’s from a later period. So, like most things in O gauge, you can’t seem to have a perfectly prototypical train, there always is a compromise somewhere. That said, the Lionel 4-6-0 looks great in its own right and the paint is pretty.
Awesome blue locomotive!! Now ya just need some B&O Passenger Cars!
Good video Sean, of course all yours are great. Feel better soon.
What a great engine!! A very unique whistle too!! Can't wait to see the cars! Feel better Sean! - Ryan
Thanks Sean. Really like your videos. Feel better.
Thanks for making this video. I was looking at getting this engine. Also your layout looks great!
I just got mine and I love it. Can't wait to see the cars. Feel better soon.
What a beautiful looking paint scheme! I really like it!👍

I like the blue color too. Thanks for sharing!
Great sounds! I love you layout, thanks!
That is a great color blue. Wish they make an all blue steam engine in that blue.

Looks like 2025 according to Lionel store. They have 12/30/24 as ship date.

Nice review. My engine arrives this week. Smoke seems really strong. Gold trim is mice. Grey roof was not in catalog photos
It is in the online catalog, just looks darker.

Yeah, that would be the other road name if I was going to get another. Paint scheme is very nice.
Great looking engine Sean . Nice sounds and smoke how much can Lionel save by wrapping them like a sandwich .
Super nice!

I would really like to get one of these and make a Casey Jones type train out of it
Where can I find a link to the matching passenger car that you were talking about?

Lionel cutting cost
