I would love a video about trying to style the clown suit! I think you could make a cool punk look with it, add some kind of belt or corset thing, stompy boots, black leather and spiky rivets? I don't know if it would work, but you never know until you try it. ^^
Add some layers! Maybe a kitschy skirt and a outerlayer that take away the costume aspect of it all, but keeps the funhouse vibes of it going strong without looking like a hotdog on a stick employee. You could also even lean into it being like a sophisticated victorian carnival ride inspector outfit.
Add a belt & bomber/leather jacket - it'll make the suit look like a jumpsuit but still provide that POW of color underneath!
Lean into the clown-core. All the way. But for real, I don't know. Go crazy town? Voluminous skirt and chunky belt?

I love a good before and after, and I love seeing people's style. I have to live vicariously through other people because my closet is pretty good, but the rest of the house really needs a declutter but it's my parents stuff.
Sad to say that you tossed a couple things & I cried Noooo😮! The prom/bridesmaid floral dress & the biker leather snap galore jacket😢! I would have traded Yellow George & The 🤡 Clown. Tuff but life demands decisions!
This is so relatable! I have so many outfits buried in my closet that I think, “I love this, it’s beautiful, it’s brilliant, a work of art….also I never wear it😩.” I need a separate museum space for clothes I want to celebrate for their vision and beauty in a different way than putting them on my body.

Prof Hollywood tailor (and fellow upcycler!) here👋 I SO love your fun videos and creative spirit, Kathleen! My suggestions for a few of the thrift flips: for the white seersucker suit, how about creating an all over cherry print, but doing the cherries as circles of red satin that are zig-zagged on, with painted stems and white painted "shine" on the fruit? As it's a lot of work, I would intersperse them and play around with scale! I also love that one peach(?) dress on you with the pleats, but if you feel it washes you out, maybe find a really cool modern print in a silk scarf, and sort of tack it around the neckline, so that the color that frames your face and décolletage is one that feels flattering to you. Whatever color is in that scarf/fabric, you can pick up with your accessories like shoes, bracelets, or a kicky hat!
You should totally dye the pink french dress ! altering clothes to make it fit your style is always better than just not wearing them, and letting them gather dust in your closet. there are some dye kits that exist where it whitens your garment as a first step and then you can dye it whatever color you want, you just gotta know the composition of the dress cause natural fibers and polyester don't react to the same dyes . I did it with a sweater a friend gave me, which has a DRAGON PATTERN but i hated the color, and now after dyeing it in my favorite color it's a staple in my wardrobe :D

I'm thrifted all my life and I've always enjoyed it. Never cared about what people thought of me. I had good reasons aside from the affordability. It's an important creative outlet for me. Kathleen your content is so important, inspirational, and very entertaining.

It's SO rare to see people out and about with, like, very bold, quirky, personal style (at least where I currently live), which bums me out because those are my *favorite* people to see out and about! It's always such a joy to see Kathleen's videos for that reason (plus the delightful, joyous attitude), especially as someone trying to thoroughly quirkify their wardrobe- unfortunately, it's not my strong suit (unlike that yellow suit- STRONG, obnoxious, one of the best suits I've ever seen)
Also, that dress at 13 mins suits you *so* well, I feel like if dyeing it means you'll wear it, it might just be worth the risk.

I think you should check out cyanotype printing for the white pj set. Morgan Donner has a video printing a whole dress.
Or Solarfast is a machine washable version of cyanotype (and comes in different colours)

The coat with the too-short sleeves is such an easy fix! I had the same issue with a coat I basically wear everyday in Winter. I unpicked the outer fabric from the lining at the inside of the cuffs, then added a strip of almost-the-same fabric and stitched that to the lining. You get a little extra sleeve length with the fabric that was originally inside the sleeve, and the new stuff is folded to the inside so it doesn't matter if it doesn't match perfectly.

When we finally got to reorganizing our office, it made a huge difference! My mood was so much better. We’ve been trying to make our apartment better ever since we moved in 2.5 years ago. Most of it has involved a new piece of furniture, some rearranging, and getting rid of stuff. Just in the last few weeks we’ve been able to make some big improvements. I bought a “kitchen cabinet” to hide all our pet stuff and moved the old pet shelves into our bedroom closet. I also finally found some decent nightstands on Craigslist and moved the old “nightstands” to the living room so we finally have some side tables. I also got rid of an office chair that was just always in the way. There’s still things that need to be rearranged - you’re never really done - but I finally feel sane and it’s so calming.
I needed this video today.😊
