In all honesty, I'm sorry this happened.
When I saw the title of the video, I expected a significant die-off due to a late shipment. I'm happy that most of them survived the trip and are being taken care of. I love how caring you are Joey for fish that aren't even yours.

He loves his hobby. He’s in a great place and is enjoying his life, what’s not to laugh about having a good time? He had a rough past so it’s great to see he’s enjoying himself now. Good on him. Been subscribed to Joey for well over 4 years now and the fish he keeps have essentially saved him and made him the incredible guy he is today. Hope he can come to a UK expo in the future and meet him 👍🏼

Only one fish type was wrong, the Cory's. Lots of extras there for him. Couple wrong size but that's on the supplier in Peru 🤷♂️

Sorry this happened. Just a tip though from someone who unboxes thousands of fish weekly; when you've got fish that have been in boxes (in the dark) for several days you need to unbox them in the dark not under super intense filming lights or even normal lights. They don't have eyelids, unboxing in the dark is best practice.
There is only one answer ... He has been doing it for more than 10 years ... And the survival rate has been 95% ... 😅

Hi love the channel just set up a 300 liter tank a couple of weeks ago got my fish a few days ago always put the fish straight from the bag into the tank after floating the bag did it you way thanks for the advice had a 98% survival rate instead of the usual 85% cheers

The great work is you try to save them now excellent work joe. i know how we feel when we found the injured or sick fish accidental situation. German blue rams or gold rams you like them really and the behavior. i love corys i have albino and julie.

Very cool room of aquariums! The floors of my current house aren’t strong enough for something like that. I need a tank big and heavy enough that it won’t rock back and forth when my big dog tries to look at the fish. But that will wait until I move to a home with stronger floors.

Actually, ended up being a great unboxing. Excited to see how the Apistos do.
Not sure if Joey will ever see this, but temperature acclimating by floating in water should help the water get up to temp faster than leaving the bags in air even if it is kept at the same temperature! This is because water is better at conducting/transferring heat than air and has a higher heat capacity. Just thought I would share this science tidbit - thanks for all the work you do in this channel!

I really like my apisto he's a blue and grew so much and got really nice colors after a month or so despite being pale when little. He has the most fun personality in my current tank also he doesn't like the Platy's (which I regret adding because they eat too much) that much but doesn't mind the Rummy's or tetras or shrimp at all.

The feeling or apprehension when opening up a box that’s been shipped to you from another country is terrible, I’ve only done it once outside of my country and there were expensive fish that nobody had available, I was lucky, all made it due to the excellent packing skills of the seller, but boy it was nerve wracking. Looking forward to the updates 😁

There is another shock that can occur in addition to thermal shock. That is pH Schick. Coming from South America these fish are likely shipped in water with a low pH. If you have a high pH like I do in the Rocky Mountains you could lose fish to it.

A shame you couldn't get fish from Manaus. Hyphessobrycon socolofi (Socolof's Bleeding Heart) are soooo much finer than erythrostigma. And they sometimes have Red Shoulder Angels and Blue Face Heckel Discus.

I've learnt this lesson before, when it comes to something so important, if you can't go yourself to double check your correct package/items, don't do it, it's not worth it with so many things that can go wrong. Definetly not her fault or anything but if you want something done properly you gotta do it yourself. At least most survived and your able to work with the mistake 👍
