    The numbers Philippine islands depends on the ocean, if it's high tide it's 7, 107 but if it's low tide it's 7, 641 🥳

    • @ronjoshuaantido1029
      @ronjoshuaantido1029 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      that's not how it works, that 7107 islands isn't the real count today basically the outdated version, the real count now is 7641 islands as for the island count during low tide there's no reliable source yet.

      If the working Filipino is paid fairly, can you imagine how progressive the country will become? Majority of the skilled workers/professionals who left the Philippines for greener pastures will surely go back because there's nothing like living in the Philippines. There will be so much influx of skills and talents added to what's already in the Philippines.

    @Kohei, in the sense of BIODIVERSITY, yeah we are considered a MEGADIVERSE country. According to Conservation International, the Philippines is one of the 17 mega biodiverse countries, containing two-thirds of the Earth’s biodiversity and 70 percent of the world’s flowers and animal species because of its geographical isolation, numerous habitats, and numerous endemic species. The UN Environment Programme (UNEP) said that to be considerered as a MEGADIVERSE country, a country should have at least 5,000 of the world’s flowers as endemic species, and with rich marine environment inside its borders. The Philippines substantially surpassed these criteria. The country's biodiversity gives numerous ecological services; such as great sources of food, water, energy, pharmaceuticals, biomass fuels; for carbon sequestration and weather regulation, crop pollination, cultural and religious inspiration, and ecotourism value. If BIODIVERSITY will be the basis, PHILIPPINES could be one of the RICHEST in the world. Despite of this, the Philippines is likewise considered a mega HOTSPOT as it also faces severe threats to our ecosystems because of deforestation and different human activities.

This is the reason how korean drama, artist and idols consistently become on the hot list because of Fiipinos power overwork thtough social media. Knowing Philippines is the worlds social media capital.

    Here's one things about Filipinos. The Philippines suffered under Japanese occupation in WW2 (remember the Bataan Death March). My parents' generation lived through that time and in fact my uncle was killed by the Japanese. Yet growing up I NEVER heard my parents, my aunts & uncles and my grandparents and friends' elder relatives ever curse or wish anything bad for the Japanese. They would tell stories of the horrors of Japanese occupation but I never sensed ANY hatred toward the Japanese. More than a few Chinese people today still are not fond of the Japanese & some older Koreans still resent the Japanese. When Japan starting becoming an economic powerhouse in the 1960's Filipinos gladly bought Toyota & Datsun cars, Sony TV's and electronics including tons of transistor radios, Nikon cameras, and other Japanese products.
    Today Filipinos have no problems with the Japanese & in fact are appreciative of the fact that Japan has allowed many Filipinos to work & stay in Japan. Another tidbit; the Philippines sent Filipino soldier during the Korean War to fight the communists and suffered 12 dead & 6 missing out of a total of 7,420 troops sent there by President Elpidio Quirino. There is now a permanent memorial in Korean commemorating the bravery of the Filipino soldiers. President Quirino also pardoned 105 Japanese POW’s. Of these 52 convicted war criminals had their death sentence commuted to life. All were released and repatriated on July 15, 1953. This in spite of the fact that President Qurino’s clan lost 18 members including his wife & three children to Japanese bullets during the Battle of Manila on Feb. 1945 when the American forces were retaking the Philippines from the Japanese.
    Yet a recent survey shows that ONLY 52% of Japanese had a favorable impression of Filipinos while more than 80% of Filipinos had a favorable impression of Japan. Maybe if real history was taught in Japan this number would be higher.
    The same President Quirino also welcomed 6,000 White Russians (a political not an ethnic designation) & settled them in Tubabao Island in the Visayas. These anti-Bolsheviks Russians were living in China but since China was becoming communist they were in danger of being shipped back to Russia. Growing up in the Philippines we never taught this fact.
    Another fact not taught is that President Quezon allowed more than a thousand Jews fleeing the holocaust to stay in the Philippines. During the Vietnam war and after that the Philippines had set up a Vietnamese Refugee Center to help refugees fleeing Vietnam. It was a processing center where the Vietnamese were processed before heading to their final destinations.

    Can you do a reaction video on the "1956 foreign exchange students debate on prejudice"? And share your own take/experiences with prejudice while you were studying/traveling abroad?

    Filipinos are big fans of Japanese manga and anime, starting with Voltes V, then Dragon Ball Z, HunterXHunter. We also love Japanesr bands like Radwimps and One Ok Rock. We binge on Jdramas and movies on Netflix. Rurouni Kenshin movie Asia premiere was held in Manila 6 years ago. And, we definitely follow a lot of Japanese youtubers like you!

    AAAAA I'M A BIT EARLY YEHEYYY it's heartwarming to see you guys watch and learn more of our culture, just like how a lot of filipinos and other nationalities are interested in japanese culture as well.
    although there are a few misspellings, and wrong pronunciations (since it's obv they're not native speakers) in the geography vid, it's a good educational package to start with.
    hoping for more vids and stay safeee! ^^
