this song has always been a home for me- i have always felt like an outsider my whole life and waiting for someone to come in my life and understand where i am at, to meet my point of view and hear me for the first time, to give me a chance. i once had people that did this, whom i still miss very deeply, though for more reasons than one it did not last. it feels the most devastating when you are never sure why people move on and you are left in the aftermath, trying to find will to pick up the pieces. thank you is an understatement, joel you are a whole different entity, your songs have played so many roles in my life and i am eternally grateful for reaching me in this place and giving me a beautiful anthem to my journey in this life.
