My son is an in-state student who transfered from Korea when he was in the middle of his 10th grade. So he couldn't have any AP classes till 10th grade. Despite struggling by choosing 6 AP classes in his 11th grade, his WGPA is still only 4.14 (UWGPA is 3.84). He got all scores 5 in 6 AP exams. His SAT and ACT score are 1570 and 36. He has applied to the architecture and architectural engineering dual degree program (6-year course) at this early action. His class rank is just around 25 percentile because his high school is so competitive. He is a naitonal merit semifinalist and waiting for the finalist result. I would like to know if he can get any chance to get into UT Austin. Thank you.
Getting into the school he has an okay shot. I say okay because engineering is not an easy field to get into at UT especially when he is not auto admit. I do not know much about the specific program however, so take this with a grain of salt.
