I've said it before and again now. One of the best coaches I've seen. I'm in UK but would go to this guy in a flash. I'm 68 and I bet I've picked up some really bad habits in 50 years of shooting. I'm still winning but the odd shot goes off sometime for no reason in my head. Off target I mean.

Archery isn't as big in the UK, lots of hobbyists but beyond that it's a pretty niche leisure pursuit. If you check out all the web sites of all the archery clubs, all the members look the same they come from a particular background ( it would seem ) you don't get guys like Bruce at the clubs in the UK. This guy seems very down to earth, approachable and happy to help and share his expertise. In the UK? fuggedabout it. Too much up their own asses.

I don't like back tension releases I use the baby goose and rhino I can set my strap and my tension on my release itself my trigger

Just curious if Brianna uses contacts or glasses. It's really hard for me to shoot with glasses and I cant wear contacts and was wondering if maybe something like this would help

U should feel lucky to have this great of service at your local shop bCs we all aren't so lucky... I bought ah new bow last year and basically had to learn on my own. Which is what brought me here bCs I have picked up some bad habits

What you need to do is first, research the current availability of what is in your area ,for how ever many possible archery shops there might be in your area, there can several different ways of considering what makes a good available archery. Distance drive ,gas ,how far do you consider to far away, what do you consider close by distance, ,the next factor might very well be, the collective knowledge of who is owning and operating, plus the hired help staff. And the attention to detail, sometimes it's the small things the make personal service top notch, they might own the shop, but customers are the walk in boss, your the customer, your the boss, you make the FINAL decision on your archery tackle, that's the bottom line, and it always will be that way, maybe it's a little touch of string work maintenance or an arrow or 2 for fletching repair, it's all the small details that make you tick, balancing, timing the cams, rest / paper/paper-bullet tuning, 3-D archery, multiple fixed pins,single pin movable classes, every, every, every counts, and the arrow chart is as important as well, if there's something your curious about make dam sure you ask, the more you learn the better you will definitely get, learn as much as possible, I've got 32yrs in archery, my ears are open,
Most of the bow shops where I live, think you should know how to shoot or can be arrogant to the fact. I only know one guy that would spend the time to teach and he’s the only guy I will shop or get my archery needs from

How do you set up your bow if you wear glasses.
Lens in your site or peep, or both! She got one in her site
Magnification in the sight and a clarifier in the peep.
Yup
I use a #3 clarifier and an 8x lense for target. Nothing for hunting.

The only thing I find at fault with his method is it’s contrary to her instinctive positioning. She may not remember all that 39 point checklist when she’s got a nervous buck in front of her. I’m not saying he’s wrong by any means. I’d like to see him incorporate a bit more adaptive techniques to his single plane method though. Perhaps that comes in the next lesson. And with enough range time she’ll figure it out as well.

That is why you PRACTICE and PRACTICE so you have a muscle memory when it actually happens out in the field.
If only I could get that level of service and respect at a shop! I go to get my bow set up and tuned and then they blow me off and all the guys start talking then they don't even ask me if I would like to see if the new setup fits me properly while all the guys bro talk and hog the test range. Even when I install my own release and sight, they insist they "tune it" for me but set it up for them and not me! On top of that they nag they can't get it right because I'm a lefty and they only shoot right. Then they try to mansplain to me how to shoot when I've been shooting bows and hunting literally over 30 years. The discrimination in the archery world against women is just as bad as in the auto industry. I don't mind when guys offer tips, but it gets frustrating when I try to explain to them I don't shoot conventionally or like everyone else and it confuses them so they treat me like I don't know anything at all.
