With one exception, my closest friends have always been male, and when in a new group of men and women, within minutes, I'm having conversations with the men while the women small talk. Coming from a small rural area makes it that much harder to find like-minded people.

This was always my worry lol. I remember when I got into my first relationship he started talking about marriage, I felt like it was the end of my world!
I'm an ENTP and my mom said i'm too lazy as a woman. Lol i'm too busy analyzing and re analyzing something i'm sorry my bed is a mess i just don't have a time to do it😂
Are you sure you're not an INTP? 😋 I more start a crap load of things / side hustles and, once accomplished, instead of building upon obvious signs of success, I want to drop the thing like a flaming ball of shite and move on to the next thing.
@@_VISION. I took the official MBTI 2x for work (first time cold not really knowing about MBTI). Myself, I more so research to the hilt, build things with a vengeance, and then get bored and move on to the next exciting idea. That is out of the thousand ideas I have going on at once that I do nothing with. I reference the INTP here because I work with 2 of them and have had extensive conversations on ideas / possibilities / hopes / dreams type stuff. They have them, are smart AF, but in my observation and opinion have even less follow through. Their high accuracy factor is in tact and are quick to judge any situation or person. However, they could stand to turn a little of that introspection and gaveling unto themselves. They can dictate perfection, but fall short of modeling it. I deal with the fallout and it can be exhausting sometimes. But it still keeps life interesting. I may be misreading type(s) or function to a degree, but my experience fits.
One thing I always hear about my fellow ENTP’s is that we all tend to be good writers but none of these videos ever have “writer” as a top career choice. Still, my dream job is to do journalism, songwriting or creative writing, because I’ve found writing to be one of the few things I can keep consistent in my life. Can anyone back me up on the “ENTPs are good writers” claim?
Although it's not my only career, writing has been a huge part of both my major careers - first as a high school English teacher, and later as a columnist writing on healthy living topics which later were revised into a book used as a charity fundraiser for support groups with health issues such as diabetes and M.S. When I didn't continue my column because of too many hours required running my business, I had many people tell me that they looked forward to it every week and really missed it. My two grandchildren live a couple days drive away so six years ago I started a bi-monthly letter writing program with them from the time they were in kindergarten and we continue it to this day. It's an amazing way to stay connected to grandchildren who live a great distance away, and their writing skills have improved in leaps and bounds. It's certainly on my to-do list to do much more writing as I get some semi-retirement hours from running my business. Truthfully I will never actually fully retire as I will find a plethora of interesting and productive activities to keep me from being bored. I'm sure that is the case with most ENTP.
While I impulsively agree that small talk feel pointless, I try to use it to my advantage. I use small talk to judge people's willingingness to converse, understand their comprehension levels, see how they react to certain comments I make, etc. When I was younger I wouldn't talk to people unless I needed to, but now that I work in the construction field I use it to my advantage. If someone can't maintain a short conversation with me, then I know I can't trust them to complete a complicated task without me holding their hand the entire time. Weeding out the dumb people with "normal" small talk can save you a lot of time in the long run 👍🏻👍🏻
I love the fact that I've spent 3hours, instead of sleeping, arguing with myself on why or why not I'm an ENTP, and if so if I'm -A or -T. I think my actions, and the fact that I've run out of counter arguments, prove that I am.
Im an ENTP Debator and do it with style, I'm the appropriate adult amongst my huge circle, I'm the fixer and everyone comes to me with there problems because they know that whatever is needing fixed gets fixed or I explain the situation from a different perspective and defuse the problem. Finding out about my personality was a brilliant thing for me, I've always felt like I see everything different from everyone else and after finding this out I use it to my advantage. I always get told that I have a unique personality and have been told from everyone I have ever met, ever that I'm ,and I quote "your mental, but in a good way", that's down to my brutal honesty, and quick wit. Being an ENTP is awesome and never boring, I've always got a great story to tell, big up the ENTPs
As a fellow ENTP I must tell you not to get ahead of yourself. Yes our personality has many advantages but also many disadvantages. Dont get ahead of yourself thinking it makes you a superhuman
I became the president of a 12k membership labor union and get to debate a lot but I got burned out on it after 6 years due to the minutiae and didn’t re run in 2017 and now am just a union negotiator and member representative and it really does fulfill a person when you get the “checkmate” feeling in a proceeding
As an Entp I'd just like to confirm that I'm not the only one who enjoys listening to other's views on myself? Like not in a narcissist way, I just enjoy it since I get wrapped up in looking at my actions through so many lenses. Just trying make sure I'm not insanse
I get bored of things so easily. Whether It is quitting my jobs because I just can’t find ways to enjoy them anymore or moving to different places because I need something different in my life. It’s rough 😩😓
Hm... everytime my family says that I am the most laziest person in this world, but only criticized anything (it's bc they're all sensing users). And I've always answered that I am on "Energy saving mode" then continued to many many many reasons why I didn't move
Did anyone else notice that he said we were popular (0:30) and then followed that up with NOT-SO popular (2:00)… just throwing it out there... Anyways, I will say the more I read the more I identify as ENTP. I thought I was just an unsteady hot-mess that gets bored way too easily, lacks boundaries because I don't care for small talk, has no filter because I'll tell you my honest opinion about things... Seeing my personality traits laid out in a way that's not self-deprecating is empowering! Does anyone know how helpful the paid academy courses and tools thing is on the 16 personalities website? I'm thinking about doing it. Would be great learn more as I complete my college degree
I absolutely noticed that "we are popular" and "not so popular." My first career was as a high school English teacher so my curse is that I constantly proofread the written word and silently (well usually not so silently) correct grammar in the spoken word. I think instead of the "not so popular" wording that he perhaps meant to say that the ENTP type is rare, seeing as it follows that we are only 3% of the general population. Then again he may have been referring to us being unpopular with those who can't win a debate against an ENTP seeing as he just said that our verbal sparring and quick wits enable us to stick it to others. To Freeda Lioness - it is not difficult to be me at all. I love who I am and how I think. It's easy to be myself. But I am 62 and I have had six decades of perfecting my craft! Just don't give a rat's ass what others think of you and it will become easier to be yourself. My prime example that I have grown into being comfortable with is that my husband's very large family is boring as hell to me and only capable of speaking in extreme small talk so I have learned to go to reunions and not care that no one talks to me. After 35 years, it just doesn't matter. It hurt my feelings years ago but no longer.
BluesGirl this made me guffaw and smile so hard. You're my inspiration for sure. I hope to get to that point of not caring anymore. I'm in a similar situation where no one talks to me at social gatherings with friends because unfortunately I'm in a small town and my circle of friends make me want to grate my teeth against a gate...and I'm not really good at faking enthusiasm so, there we have it 😅 Something funny is that I've experienced a shift in personality. When I was a freshman I was an ENFP, and that's when I met my friends. At the time they were tolerable, but when I got to my junior year I slowly transitioned to an ENTP...and sometimes find myself on the borderline depending on the day. But I know for a fact I'm ENTP and only gravitate to F because I've been accustomed to people pleasing all my life and am always haunted by it. But once I let a little of it go, the T started articulating itself. Not saying ENFPs are people pleasers but in my case I was one because of precisely that.
0:31 "...with this popular personality type." 2:00 "And this not so popular personality type..." Are you using two different definitions of the word popular? Or did you misspeak? (ENTP sounding off)
Always knew I was an ENTP even before et along the tests multiple times. Real bummer to not be able to always follow through on stuff though. Glad to hear Tyrion is an ENTP, I always related to the way he was doing things.
I took the test and am one. Explains my personality better than any other test I've ever taken. Also explains why I've made very few friends lol. Truth just isn't to everyone's interest...
I'm an INFJ... the two ENTP's I've met have both told me that I work out too hard and people will like me for me... it felt really dismissive of all the work I have done. On the other hand... the chemistry between us was INSANE! Plus, I love to talk about big ideas and they get all geeked like me. Whereas ENTP's don't follow through... I do. I want a relationship with one of these guys!
I'm an ENTP but I don't argue for something I don't believe in. I do try and put myself in the opposing perspective and try to understand why someone would think in such a way but if someone is saying something stupid, no matter how much I try and see it from their perspective, its still stupid just the same.
When he said that the people with ENTPs are clever, curious and another good stuff I thought: - yea, you re right lol. And i started laughig. That so scary, im fucked up lol. Why am i writing this here that im fucked up? Okey it doesnt metter.. xD have a good day
I play devils advocate to arouse more ideas and arguments, its not arguing for the sake of trying to annoy people athough this is generally how it is taken.
I'm an INFP and I absolutley love ENTPs. My dad is one and a guy I have a crush on is one. It's so rare to have someone to be brutally honest with. Also, they are the funniest, wittiest type ever.
Thank you for the information. I believe i'm a debater and well these videos are downright scary. I've lived my life (just turned 40) with this rage inside with words that people use wrong! And I always want to punish/retribution for wrongs or slights. Is that part of the entp-a or could that be from the something else. And yes I believe I or YOU can always do something BETTER!
Heyhey, ENTP here! Ppl hate us so much but damn are we good at conversation. I swear, I've perfected discussing politics without pissing anybody off and it's so fun to have fun debates with people.
Decided to listen to this one again wondering if I went too far recently. I just had top volume, highly aggressive shouting matches with a male coworker (in a church gym, no less) and my male boss within the last month and I am still quite amazed that I have a job right now. 😆 I just can't contain myself or pull back when presented with a lack of innovation, progress, and low-key wrench throwing. Absolutely lose my damn mind in such situations.
My ex is an ENTP. I'll ask him to do something, sometimes I'll give instructions other times it's pretty obvious. Only to find hours later it's not done because he has decided to think of a better way to do it.😂 Just do it! But then it turns out his way is better 😅😘😅 Time well spent. We also spend countless hours arguing over his ideas of how society should be. Because of the J in my personality I always ask how? How is it going to be implemented?! Tell me how? I need concrete plans to see it through.
I'm writing about a female "debater" gemini. So I came here to research the "debater" personality type. My notes: ENTP Likes to plan, analyze, then, reanalyze. Doesn't like small talk, but enjoys playing devil's advocate. A mental Superstar, they're curious, clever, and most of all innovative. They're not judgemental, but are a bit unreliable. They are easily bored.
I am an ENTP but, I don't fit all the requirement for an ENTP...But for me, the career path was one point...I Just uploaded a video of my results and share my opinion about the 16 Personalities test...The only test that got me to a T was the StrenghtFinder 2.0
Entp here. Even started a channel to allow others to get a better sense of how this type functions in business and life. Good summary and would love to collaborate!
I am an ENTP. I agree 100%. For a very long time, I thought that I cant be bored. But its exactly zur opposite! The quick transistion to another thought, idea or action even multitasking prevent effectively situations that make me feeling bored. Like an automatism 🤣🤣🤣
I just came from taking the test for a 5th time (I took it the first time in Freshman in college, the another time last year... A third last a few months ago... A fourth time YESTERDAY and TODAY a fifth time). First time done through career counceling with a psychologist 1st time INTP-A however, my introvert and extrovert were very close - the scale showed a spectrum rather than a percentage. I was really close to the middle. 2nd time INTP- A (53-47 on Introvert vs Extrovert 3rd time ENTP-A This was quite a surprise at first...considering I have been getting INTP all along... Tecnically I consider it both because it was something around 51-49 on extrovert/Introvert 4th time - INTP-A (57-43) I am an INTP once again. 5th time - ENTP-A (57-43 ...ironically) I guess I am back to being an ENTP? Every day is a new day to learn! Amd considering the "reputation" of the Myers Briggs by psychologists not being as great, I am not too worried about my result. Anybody also got something similar to me or is it just me?
just found out that i am an entp-T. After reading the description i was like... ohh great no wonder no one tolerates me i am a NIGHTMARE. Then i read futher about what separates turbulent debaters and assertive debaters, and it said "turbulent debators are more prone to negative self perception than their assertive counterparts" i found that interesting because of my initial reaction :D ENTPs are a recipe for disasters good thing we are only 3% of the world's population. (sorry for the typos i wanted to say my piece but was too lazy to grammar, which is a good example of entp energy now that i think about it)
Preface:I only know one other ENTP besides myself personaly and we haven't spoken in years(and interacted with a few on reddit - in an observational maner) so the next points I will adress will be somewhat biased(a little extra data /another point of view if you will ; ) 1."understand other people"-not other just people , everything in theyr interest area ; 2. "stick it to others" - No!At least not on purpose (Although it might look like that from others points of view , sometimes ); 3. We don't argue (a common misconception) we discus ; the truth or at least the point of view we are exploring(if it is subjective it must be stated and acknoleged) is more important than "who wins"(I never could get behind the "ego wanking" atitude alot of people have towards having the last word). 4.Your milage may vary ;
Of course they have to prove it if they dare say that the wonderful me is wrong, I've already dealt with people like that, I genuinely wanted to know where I was wrong since I really wanted to learn more and they couldn't point a thing just cause I was actually right and they didn't want that. I really despise ignorant people, they don't even want to learn yet think that they know everything, tsk tsk, stay in your fantasy.
I have a ENTP friend and coworker!! As a ENFP I find myself very curious over them and I love chatting with them. Hearing their thoughts and jumping onto their bandwagon is fun. When we are on the same page we chat and chat and I get stimulated. Haha
It turns out that I'm an ENTP. Overall it has been good to me. Made a good career out of becoming a mechanical engineer. Got quite a few patents (by not accepting conventional wisdom) which has earned me quite a bit of money over the years. But I am outspoken and intolerant of people who insist on magical thinking etc. It became apparent when at age 8 I was banned from Sunday school for arguing with the teacher and winning. When the other kids started to laugh at her weak answers, she had a mini fit and I was out. Over the years since I have upset a lot of people which I didn't set out to do, but I feel no guilt.
I think only the troublemaking or lightweight ENTP will disagree simply for the thrill of it. I think more resolved and, dare I say, wise ENTPs will argue a point they passionately believe in. ‘Devil’s advocate’ work is generally a poor substitute for a properly thought out position, but I can concede it may be a part of the process of getting to a firm conclusion
I went to a personality test wayback highschool or college.. And i was an ENTP back then.. But lots of of things happened and changed. This year, i took the personality test again and the result is i am an INFJ now
I test as an ENTP and I feel this describes me well but it also flatters me so I’m extremely skeptical of the Jungian and Meyers Briggs “personality type theory” generally speaking, though I’m biased to feel I’m too special to be reduced to a type
Acting is strange for ENTP because we are not good at emotional task but more into rational analytical task. Mb just to explore the procces of how acting works is whats interesting about it.
I am busy reviewing the many MBTI presenters on TH-cam. Thus far, my efforts have disappointed. A mature and experienced presenter's perspective is tortured by the amateurish pronouncements of youth. Unlike the authoritative voice of a TH-cam presenter like Jordan Peterson, most of the other personality theory 'experts' fail to establish any credentials. How am I, an ENTP, to sort the wheat from the chaff? That being said, I congratulate you on a clear, concise, and professional presentation. It would be nice to know your MBTI type, sources, and motives up front. My critical thinking Ti always edits my enthusiastic Ne and Fe curiosity and empathy with the micro-analysis of my Si inferior function. The introverted functions of my particular personality expression ask all the questions that my extraverted functions are blind to. Having no specific goals as part of my general inquiry of the MBTI TH-cam universe, I am left to ponder the 'why' of its existence? Are these lessons merely vanity projects, or are they meant to be commercial? If you expect to make a living slinging 'bull,' then the sizzle needs to be as tasty as the steak. Vanity projects are annoying because they never really intend to let the audience in. There, I've scratched my critical itch just like the SOB my MBTI temperament predicts. Thanks for being caught in the grip of my gripe. I hope it was as good for you as it was for me. Reciprocity is the root of all empathy.
Just found out I’m a debater but what other stupid debaters think is this means your a psychopath well I have feeling and a higher IQ than those people who claim they have none. To Claim that having no emotions is a cool thing is completely bogus. I have feelings I just choose who sees my feelings or not and I quickly move on from a “hurt” state. Everyone in my college room said I ha e the worst personality and secretly I laugh at them and by the end of the day they all wished they had my Personality and I want to know about the Clive Owen his character on the Knick was he a debater?
Hey man I'm ENFP too. I'm interested if you know any ENTPs personally? For me, it's very very hard to deal with this personality type. How is it for you?
How to live and not die alone if i'am entp girl? And my mom is already selling a house in order to just to move and live apart because "it's impossible to live with me"
I don't think that I am a devil's advocate, I just try to 1st the view point of the other party to relate to them and the bigger picture in the given situation. I don't always know the motivation of other people so I am forced to do this as not to be overly detached or upset people. My intelligence is my curse . Is there any one else with this view?
lmao 'my intelligence is my curse' dude u're weak in head. watched some sherlock movies, answered 10th grade maths tests and overthinked some moments of your life? lol keep making yourself believe you're intelligent. you dumb as fuck 😂
Durian calm down man, there is a chance you are struggling with the feelings shit. i m an ENTP and i have been there man,i have also done the mirror shit u accurately described earlier, and its not worth ur time trust me. work on ur self confidence and let Fe be used to keep harmony in ur relationships. using it anymore than that and overthinking about it is a waste of time, i have simulated this argument over and over, trust me not worth ur time. U cant make a horse climb a tree. If the person is using a feeling based argument the best u can do is understand where the person is coming from instead of creating a model of something irrational by playing the devil's advocate to simulate it. Playing a devil's advocate is used by entps to broaden our perspectives, this is an intellectual exercise to us and cannot be used to understand irrational arguments especially since we have Ti, which makes up the logical construct we have and use for judgment over Fe or Fi which is used to make the feeling based arguement. For now u can use the only solution i could come up with and that is understand where are they coming from when they make a point, cause it could be as simple as ur previous argument in that debate pissed them off and they threw some shit at u out of anger and u waste ur time trying to figure out what they actually meant. Hope i helped u durian
@@shailendrahegde7410 He has a point though , I don't take in nearly as much information in as I should, but I understand your point as well , however to explain why I find it important to understand the other parties arguments all the time , ( perhaps I should not have used word intelligence appropriately, I should have said Ne , I am kind of dumb sometimes), if (and I try to give the benefit of a daut) a person is a functioning member of society (of which I rearly am) then that has to somehow estancient their decisions, they have to be based on something, meaning there is most likely a rational construct behind their Idea or view point, and if they function as a normal human being, that construct has to be valid in some way(cose it works), feelers also have to think, And if I could see their rational construct maybe I can understand how exactly I was wrong, or why is the other person wrong and use this knowledge to become maybe a bit more functional ( I don't think I am the way I am because I'm better, it's because I'm broken in the understanding simple things department thus I have to compensate by over analyzing. Does that make any sense ? And yes I wish I was just plain old stupid all the way , it makes life easier, but there are different types of stupidity I guess, and different levels on those too...
@@shailendrahegde7410 Oh , and yes , so very sorry... I got careid away... Thank you for your encouraging words, and for caring enough to leave a reply, I really do appreciate it.

You don’t even have to ask, I’ll give it too you anyway

DONT BE BORING!!!!!

Jack Boniface - well said!
That's a start. There are plenty of overenthusiastic morons I could avoid communicating with for eternity, too. To each their own.
WM Luna aye man
Our jobs as entps are to turn those conversations into something great and philosophical

I more start a crap load of things / side hustles and, once accomplished, instead of building upon obvious signs of success, I want to drop the thing like a flaming ball of shite and move on to the next thing.
@@wmluna381 that trait pertains more to the ENTP than the INTP. So you sure you're not an ENTP?
I am a writer. An excellent writer in fact. I am also an outstanding analyst. ENTP T DEBATER.
😂😂 You are welcome to debate me. Just teasing. I am so happy to have found out who I am - the day after my 75th birthday!
Cam Bogan Alexander Hamilton *cough cough*

Hm... everytime my family says that I am the most laziest person in this world, but only criticized anything (it's bc they're all sensing users).
We are so popular cause everyone want to be like us 0:30
And we are not so popular cause its so difficult to be us 2.00 🤗😁
Dayne Freitas
why must you analyse everything so much?!
lol how many times have you heard that?
I'm in a similar situation where no one talks to me at social gatherings with friends because unfortunately I'm in a small town and my circle of friends make me want to grate my teeth against a gate...and I'm not really good at faking enthusiasm so, there we have it 😅
Something funny is that I've experienced a shift in personality. Not saying ENFPs are people pleasers but in my case I was one because of precisely that.
you dont get the concept here . thats ok ,
Never be near an ENTP on April Fool's Day. You might just be in for a nasty surprise.

We also spend countless hours arguing over his ideas of how society should be. Because of the J in my personality I always ask how? How is it going to be implemented?! Tell me how? I need concrete plans to see it through.

He must be stalking me, he just said everything I do
I just came from taking the test for a 5th time (I took it the first time in Freshman in college, the another time last year... A third last a few months ago... A fourth time YESTERDAY and TODAY a fifth time).
First time done through career counceling with a psychologist
1st time
INTP-A
however, my introvert and extrovert were very close - the scale showed a spectrum rather than a percentage. I was really close to the middle.
2nd time
INTP- A (53-47 on Introvert vs Extrovert
3rd time
ENTP-A
This was quite a surprise at first...considering I have been getting INTP all along...
Tecnically I consider it both because it was something around 51-49 on extrovert/Introvert
4th time - INTP-A (57-43) I am an INTP once again.
As and ENTP the first thing I looked for on this video was Time stamps so I could skip through. Thanks
just found out that i am an entp-T. After reading the description i was like... ohh great no wonder no one tolerates me i am a NIGHTMARE. Preface:I only know one other ENTP besides myself personaly and we haven't spoken in years(and interacted with a few on reddit - in an observational maner) so the next points I will adress will be somewhat biased(a little extra data /another point of view if you will ; )
1."understand other people"-not other just people , everything in theyr interest area ;
2. "stick it to others" - No!At least not on purpose (Although it might look like that from others points of view , sometimes );
3. We don't argue (a common misconception) we discus ; the truth or at least the point of view we are exploring(if it is subjective it must be stated and acknoleged) is more important than "who wins"(I never could get behind the "ego wanking" atitude alot of people have towards having the last word).
4.Your milage may vary ;
Great Analysis on the Super Analysts...Thanks for the video..
Have you ENTPs ever taken the Color Code personality test by Taylor Hartman? I am super curious what color you got??
I'm an EMTP and I love to debate but have no time to argue!!
The normal but never effective way to end a discussion "Let's agree to disagree" is a no go with ENTP!
