  • PART 2 of 2: Aug 12, 2021, join me for my very First day back in a machine out in the field after some serious medical issues I've had recently. Today, I wanted to ease back into some land management work with a pretty 'easy' bush hogging project, although as usual, this stuff was way taller and thicker than what was described! But that is normal, no surprise there! Today I'll try out my new Imperial equipment trailer and haul my Bobcat T650 CTL skid steer and my Blue Diamond severe duty cutter and tackle a client property CRP field that has become severely overgrown. The new trails that I need to mow are through a nearly 60 acre CRP field that has become overgrown. And of course I am going in to this one blind, not having seen this property yet! So my buddy Curtis Rogers gave me a rough map of the property and proposed new trail system that I had to mow for this new Southern Illinois property owner. These are tough to bid when you have not seen it up close, as everyone's definition of 'easy mowing,' or 'easy bush hogging' is a bit different! So join me today for Part 2 of this bush hogging land management project, as we'll explore some new crp fields together, tackle the blind fields and hazards, but ultimately I think we will be successful! Also if you have not seen any of our previous land management projects, take a look at our latest Southern Illinois property purchase that we are in the process of right now! We just signed a contract to purchase on a Southern Illinois 38 acre property that needs a lot of TLC and property rehab! Here is the playlist for this one, our most recent raw land investing/raw land flipping investment:

    Time for the Kioti 7320 with 12' batwing bush hog!

    • @kapperoutdoors
      @kapperoutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly! Hard to say though, with it being so tall, and the bush hog having to smash it down before cutting, how well it would cut it up with just one pass! Either way, it is good to have options! Thanks.

    Cool did you sing the song, run thou the jungle. We been watch PBS of the 52 anniversary of Woodstock 1969. Wow some Great Music came from that event. It's history and with what's happening right now 🤔. Run thou the Jungle, watch out for helicopter landing or C4's . If you served and others that comment.

    Kapper glad to see you back moving. I could tell your heart was not in the barn pic, lol or your did a great acting job. Made me laugh about the landscaping with the flashback of Sharon taking a week off.😂
    She is great to keep you going a old fashioned farm girl, like my adopted mom. Recall my adopted. Mom getting lumber out of my grandpas old shed, the kind with the pattern roll siding. I was about 6 and that part garage and shed and same siding was still standing last month went I went for a ride. She carried all those boards and hand sawed a bunch of pieces and got a hammer and nails and had us boys a small picnic table since we were to small to sit about the big picnic table. No print or list, not even a tape as I recall. I think she must of just looked at big table and copied it to our size in her mind. They don’t make them gals like they use to. You got very lucky my friend.

    An easy project with the T650! Will you have to bush hog it again later once the vegetation on the trails grows back?

    • @kapperoutdoors
      @kapperoutdoors  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, I think this is all in CRP so he will have to get the whole field area mowed every year or two!

    If he doesn't get those saplings mowed down he will loose the fight with Mother Nature for sure. It's been a while since it was mowed down to the ground.

    • @kapperoutdoors

      I think this new land owner is in for a big surprise with this stuff. My impression is that they bought it, when it was recently bush hogged with a large portion in CRP ground and now they have no idea on the equipment and/or cost needed to keep it properly mowed every year or twice a year!
