    having to drill into the ground as soon as you see a wave does not bode well for the calmness of this run

      SF + PP driller can't do much against such waves. I'm working on non cope tunnelling driller tsunami run

    Actually very insightful driller gameplay here.
    I haven’t really played around with the „meta“ sticky flames build, as giving up flamethrower ammo for slowdown does hurt, but seeing you combine the slowing effect of the flames with max speed drills and persistent plasma has changed my perspective a bit.
    This build allowed you to basically halt entire swarms in your driller tunnels without them catching up to you, and getting good with TFC allows for great Mactera and grunt clear in said tunnels.
    So, a question from a more inexperienced driller: should I try to make use of tunnels like this in multiplayer, or is it only effective in solo? Also, should I go for the stickyflames slowdown and tunnel strategy on non modded difficulties, or does it diminish in value there?

      Yes, tunnel is a great tool if ur whole team has been downed and u need to clutch an entire swarm all by yourself.

      On non-modded difficulties it is less necessary, unless u are playing on haz5a

      Hey! Sticky Fuel + Persistent Plasma combo is considered as the strongest option on driller regardless of difficulty. So feel free to take it on any vanilla hazards (aside from haz5/8 - i would prefer cryo cannon then). Now on topic of cope tunnelling & bunkering - i always encourage players not to bunker during swarms in my lobby because bunkering is detrimental to your skill growth as a player it also removes team cohiseveness & class roles (Scout picking out HVTs, engi's repellant setup, gunner's shields management). In solo you can play how you enjoy more. If you plan to play on difficulties past vanilla haz5 then i would recommend starting playing haz5 solo -> haz5.5x2 in teams -> haz6x2. Also try out every driller's build to choose what suits you best. RnS!⛏

    it does look fun, I wander if a well built team of 4 dwarf would make it good. Like a good temperature shock synergy with scout and driller and bait or proxy mines with engi turret shock or something and laser or something. maybe the new gunner overclock, the mortar thingy especially with like a little bend in the tunnel for the arc of the mortar shell or... You made me wanna play DRG again... God dam it, lol

      We tried this. But this game is not optimized well for bigger bug density - client's ping goes up to 400ms (even if they have 60ms in normal missions), decync is real with up to 40 secs input delay, + unplayable 15fps even on decent high-end PC rigs because enemy cap goes up to 2000 in 4ppl team
