    I live in Thailand, spent 3 months in Colombia in 2021. I like the safety in Thailand.

    Thailand wins it hands down, I been coming to Thailand since 2008 and spent 5 years in Colombia and just recently left after being sick of the dry food and rude and slow customer service, also Thailand you can just live your life without people messin with you every 2 mins, thai people are very respectful also amd treat eachother well, in Colombia everybody is trying to outdo eachother and all have a horrible jealousy problem, it feels like they hate to see other people doing well, thats my 2 cents

    I can only recommend Thailand to a person I genuinely *care* about
    Colombia is a great adventure but it’s a dangerous place regardless of what gringos will tell you.
    Police doesn’t exist to protect you.
    the average foreigner is a easy victim and there are many hungry sharks over there ready to eat and take advantage of it.
    Thailand also has way better customer service and hospitality infrastructure and imo also the food, both the local and the foreign cuisine options are way better in Thailand.
    And the attitude towards foreigners isn’t getting better in Colombia locals despise foreigners who come here for drugs, women, the bs. talk about coming here for “the culture and the food” nobody believes it.
    I feel comfortable in Colombia, nothing ever happened to me, I spent a decade in crime in my home country, I can deal with dangerous people and situations better than the average guy and it feels like a retreat compared to my past life.
    Besides that I have a big circle, farms, apartments bullet proof luxury cars, guns and business relationship with powerful people over here which 99% of even rich locals don’t have

    I am Korean and I have lived in both Colombia and Thailand. As a matter of fact I am staying in Cali, Colombia right now. But every minute of the day I miss Thailand more and more. Thailand can cater to a wider range of people with different tastes and backgrounds, while Colombia has limited options in that regard. Whether you are asian, white, black or whatever, whether you are young or old, whether you are rich or poor, Thailand has everything you could possibly wish for. Also the food and safety are unbeatable. The cost of living is relatively low and the qualities of products and services are higher compared to Colombia. Big cities in Thailand such as Bangkok, Phuket and Chiang Mai are quite multicultural whereas for Colombia, you can't really say that. It is a distinctively and predominantly Latin country. For long-term living, I would definitely go for Thailand. If it is a short term visit for tourism, Colombia is not bad but Thailand still wins 😆. Thailand is nomad-friendly if you work online, while Colombia? Not so much from my experience. I am not hating on Colombia though, I have Latino blood in me (figuratively speaking), I like to dance salsa and love the passion of Latinos, but overall Thailand beats Colombia in every regard.
    Ah! There is one thing where Colombia beats Thailand: women. Colombian women on average are definitely way prettier and sexier than Thai women, physically. Mentally? Well, I would say a tie.

    I can only speak for Colombia, lived there for about 2 years, long enough to know it could never be a permanent viable option for me for a large array of reasons, mostly security and safety and general cultural considerations. Never been to Thailand or Philippines but have a feeling I would feel be more relaxed and at home there, without constantly looking over my shoulder and assuming the worst in people. You can’t really let your true personality shine in a place like Colombia.

    • @BushidoNomad
      @BushidoNomad  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      That's true bro you definitely can not be the most positive, relaxed, good guy version of yourself there

      i've been living between Vietnam and Thailand for about 5 years now. and i keep wanting to go live in colombia or mexico for a bit. i want to learn Spanish. and I want to explore a new culture and go new places etc.
      but the safety and security thing is always what holds me back. out here, there is just no thinking about that AT ALL.
      i can walk around in the middle of the night anywhere with my phone out, and money in my pocket and not worry about getting robbed. the worst that will happen is someone will maybe try and scam me out of some money. but nothing violent or serious

    Thailand 🇹🇭 at leat you got less chance of being robbed or drugged.

    • @mcluvin65
      @mcluvin65 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Maybe not robbed, but Thailand is not safe from petty crimes. About drugging, I think perhaps you miss the mark, not reporting or being allowed to publicize a crime does not mean it is not a frequent occurrence, the government in Thailand does not allow information that will make the "Kingdom" look bad to be made public or reported. Newspapers, reporters, and people in general need to be careful what they report or say about the country or they could face stiff penalties. Any country that relies on the sex trade is overwhelmed with "druggings" whether that information is made public or not.

    Thailand is better. There are no negatives, correction just the cost of the ticket and time getting there.Thailand itself is nothing falls below a 8. The women are way better looking in Columbia. Thailand more things to do day and night.

    It's interesting to see your perspective on how Thai people are more respectful in general; but they're also maybe more closed off like people in North America.
    If you were to approach women and ask them out for lunch or something like that in both countries, though, I'm really curious to know which one generally you think that most guys would see a better result in? asking a woman out and Colombia or Thailand? We should keep in mind that Bangkok would be the equivalent of Bogotá, and your experience in Colombia is with people in cities where they'd be more friendly and Jess stuck up and cold shouldered like Bogotános

    • @BushidoNomad
      @BushidoNomad  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    In my (extensive) experience with people in Bogotá, Colombia, they're mostly closed off and mildly cold shouldered. I was still able to date 2 or 3 women beautiful women. But from what I repeatedly hear the rest of Colombia is different. What about Thai girls receptiveness to dating travelers?

    • @gaian639
      @gaian639 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Receptivess to dating foreign travelers. There are three types that come to my mind:
      1. Straight up money-thirsty prostitutes 2. Half prostitute escort-like girls who pretend to be normal girls and make you get involved in a kind of relationship where you are confused if it is real or a scam while you end up spending shit loads of money 3. Good engel-like traditional Thai girls who are hard to find in touristy areas and speak zero English
      Usually 1 and 2 are very open to the idea of dating foreign guys who stay temporarily, while 3 is rare, perhaps not as open and you gotta speak Thai to form any kind of relationship with her
