We just bought a 1996 Fleetwood Pacer Arrow with an Onan Marquis 5000 generator. The guy said it had been sitting for about a year, so it wouldn't stay running unless he used a little starting fluid. When I saw your video, I was VERY glad to finally find someone with exactly what I have, so now I know what parts to replace, with the numbers. Hope I can get mine up and running as well.
Your video was very helpful with all of the cross references. Short and to the point...well done. I spent an entire day on the same exact generator just getting the #$%^ cover off! I wanted to make sure there was no debris in those hot areas. The 1 1/2" clearance on the back and front side was difficult to get my hands in. So i detailed the entire thing...that's as far as a got. So i'll have to do the maintenance in the next few days. Thanks Again!
need to change fuel pump on the back of genertor no gas flow when engine cranks over change filter olugs air filter nothing just crank over want start but some carb. cleaner in it and it ran until it was gone help
Thanks for reaching out. Please be aware that the fuel pickup out of the RV fuel tank will be higher for the generator than the engine fuel pickup. Is the fuel level very low? Please let me know what you find.
Great question! Yes, referring to the on-board stop/start switch. I remember there to be a fuse above the switch and right around the corner to the right. Hope this helps, my RV, generator and manual are at the camp site. Keep me updated!
Just came across your channel. My uncle has this in his remodeled converted food truck he's trying to get going. It's propane set up but have to get get it re-piped. Where would you suggest to locate the service, parts, and operation manual like you have? Also, is your generator propane or gasoline ?
I follow your advice. I have a question. My Oman 5000 generator won’t send power to the RV. Some of the wires are not showing power. Had an electrician look at it, but he doesn’t own an RV. So he told me that there’s no electricity showing on some wires. I have watched some videos and they talk about fuses and breakers which I already checked. Please advise me of what could it be?
Thanks for reaching out! If you plug the RV into shore power, do you have power in the RV? Just wondering. Lets see what the manual says for "NO" AC output: (easy check) Circuit breaker CB1 and/or CB2 could be tripped. These are to the right of the START/STOP switch. These have the AC voltage. (hard check) Open circuit between voltage regulator and brush block. (hard check) Open circuit between generator windings (Q1, Q2) and voltage regulator. (hard check) Open circuit between terminal block TB1 and voltage regulator; wire harness J4 leads (hard check) Brushes stuck in holder or not making good contact with slip ring. (hard check) Defective voltage regulator. (hard check) Open, grounded, or short circuit in rotor or stator. I do see these generators for sale on Craigs List and Martketpace. Just in case you need a replacement. This could be a tough one. Please let me know what you find.
I have the exact generator and am trying to find the parts manual that you have. If you have any advice or suggestions I would greatly appreciate them. Thank you in advance
Sorry for the delay. For the generator model number with Genset Family BGM, the carburetor part number is: 146-0455 for Spec A 146-0528 for Spec B-C 146-0664 for Begin Spec D The Spec number is the last number of the model number. The one in the video is Spec F. Let me know if you need more info!
Good day to you! Let me know if this works. On the service manual it has 965-0531B. One the parts manual it has in this order: 965-0267 9-98 (Spec A-H) Replaces 7-97 (Spec A-G)
Sorry for the delay. Not sure what are you asking. There is a START and STOP rocker switch to the lower right corner of the generator. Is this what you are asking?
I love these videos. Hands on and doing it.

I you reach out to me using my web page, I can send you some photos. www.beltedgallowayhomestead.com/
Prolly needs a carb if it’s been sitting that long.
@@mitcheldoucette8268 yep, should run it at least once a month.

Thanks for reaching out! Good idea. I found a mouse nest in mine one time between the top of the engine and the cover. Thanks again.
What is a good reference point to measure the temperature of the generator and the motor....Oil Tempature, head temperature? Please lmk....
Those are some very interesting questions. I will look at the manual and get back to you!
I reviewed the manual and there is no mention of temperature. Sorry. Possibly searching small engine temperature monitoring.

There's a relay mounted underneath/beside the carburetor what does that relay connect to and or power?? What is it's general purpose?
I have no power to this unit. Breakers are not tripped....is there a fuse on/in this unit?

When I hit the start button it makes noise but don't seem like it's turning over the engine maybe bad start abendix not engaging?
Is the noise a clicking sound? Have you checked the battery? The battery could be low on voltage.
I would like your manual for the Onan...how much...
Thank you
Sorry. I still have the RV and generator. Do you have any issues I can help you with?
How many quarts of oil did you use please
Thanks for reaching out. Oil capacity (with filter) is 3.5 quarts.

Do you know the part number for the fuel pump? Any help would be greatly appreciate it. Thank you.
Thanks for reaching out. I will need to check my manual. This will take a few days but I will get back to you.
In the video at minute marker 9:52 there is item 38 and part number 149-2267 Fuel Pump. Take a look at that and I will still verify in a few days.
149-2267 Fuel Pump is correct. Thanks for reaching out!
Hi I have the same generator, do you have a part number for the service manual and parts manual?
Good day to you! Let me know if this works.
On the service manual it has 965-0531B.
One the parts manual it has in this order:
965-0267

Replaces 7-97 (Spec A-G)
Do you know the size of the fuel line? I think it is 5/16 but I am not sure.
Thanks for the video. That info is in the RV at the campsite. I will get you an answer, but it will take a while.

Thank you
Start Solenoid Relay is 307-2570. Hope this helps! If you have not subscribed, please do.

Oil filter should be Cummins Onan 122-0800. It’s taller and easier to get a grip on.
Thank you very much sir. That will make things easier!
And starter part number thanks
Starter is 191-2186, Starter Drive Kit is 191-2187
Fram filters are some of the lowest quality products in the industry.
