Hello, I realized your video is a reality to me. I went to Havana, Cuba in 2018. I visited there for only 5 days. I saw some shortage of food and merchandise in the Mall next to the Meile Hotel around the Malecon. The Government of Cuba mismanaged the economy without the assistance of the Government of Russia and caused rapid inflation an early couple of months ago after the Ukraine and Russia War began for 2 years. That is really sad to see the People of Cuba struggle to survive there.
It’s weird that people in the states get brain washed so bad, and think that Cuba’s struggles are due to a country ten thousand miles away, when in reality it’s due to American sanction
That's the problem with our world 🌎 today, every body has disengaged and dos'st care about one another anymore, and all GOD demands of us to do is only one simple thing, to just LOVE ONE ANOTHER AND WE CAN'T EVEN DO THAT, we are BLESSED HE DIDN'T SAY LIKE EACH OTHER, THAT WOULD BE A ONEWAY TRIP TO HELL FOR ALL OF US WITHOUT A WAY BACK. 😮😢😢
I would not like loads of people coming up to me trying to get money out of me or asking me to buy them something. I get this enough when I travel to the city in my home country and it really annoy me when I go there because The vast majority are drug addicts looking for money to buy their next fix. Or the professional begger
Brother Keenan, thanks for this! It’s really sad, a country 90miles from Florida is so impoverished due to a 60 year old beef from the 1960s. Cuba is not the same Cuba as it was back then. Sanctions should’ve been lifted years ago!
@@KeenanLambert198 "who do the sanctions help?" You, your life, and the American lives that will be lost in wars all over the world because of Cuba. Did you know that Cuba's favorite pastime is destabilizing Latin America, Africa, and many other countries of this world? Did you know that Venezuela's Maduro's bodyguards are Cuban intelligence? And they shamelessly show their faces on TV and even Chavez admitted it before his death. Did you know that American lives were lost in Grenada after the US invaded to stop Cuba and the Soviet Union's Communism from being spread and to stop the support of Central American Communist insurgents by Cuba and the USSR? Did you know that the US spent billions fighting a proxy war against Cuba in Angola? Did you know that Colombian murderous guerrillas were financially supported by the Cuban regime? So, Cuba never has kept to itself and that has cost American lives and trillions of dollars. Cubans, with an embargo or not, will suffer and it is by design. It's a way for the regimen to keep the populace in check. These are things many gringos don't understand or don't want to understand. Lawler

I was in Cuba 3 weeks ago and it was the best trip I ever been on. Nothing sexually or meeting women, but the people were beautiful souls even though they are in very poor conditions.
We stayed in a Casa which was right on the Malicon and we loved it. We went to a cigar factory in Havana and toured certain areas there. We went to Varadero beach for the day and chilled. That was about a 2 hour drive in an old school car. We also stopped at the highest bridge in Cuba and took pics. We went to Vinales and explored a cave and then to a cigar farm. We did horse back riding there and bought 50 Cohiba cigars. I should’ve bought more because I came up. We went to a community center in Havana and experienced what they do for the kids. All in all we were just around the Cuban people and just learning them. Next time we go we will limit the tourist stuff and just spend more time with the people and roaming the streets. I also want to go to Trinidad in Cuba. But I never felt so safe than when I was in Cuba.
@@donnellwillcot "But I never felt so safe than when I was in Cuba." You only went to tourist places. You are safe in those places. Now, when you walk around the streets of Cuba, especially in Centro Habana and Habana Vieja, I suggest you keep your eyes open and have some situational awareness. Cuba is not the paradise that you see in these videos. What this guy did, walking around in the dark on the inner streets surrounding Prado is beyond kray-C. You can get lucky so many times. Remember this; in Cuba the hills literally have eyes. There is always a "delinquent" watching you, waiting for the right opportunity to jump you and take everything you've got, including your life if necessary. Lawler
@@lawler-ex-sfoddI’m no fool and never said Cuba is the safest place in the world. I’m very hyper vigilant due to my PTSD and TBI from my time in the military. So I’m aware of many things “normal tourist” are not aware of.
I have visited Cuba twice, once in 2000 and again in 2015. The first trip was from Cancun, and the second followed President Obama's restoration of US relations with Cuba. I absolutely loved the people! They were incredibly kind, despite their difficult circumstances. It's true that they look to you for money, and some may offer themselves for it, but my experiences were wonderful, and I'm eager to return. I know that area well. Its close to Central Park where all the old cars you can rent or get rides. I used the bus that takes you all over the city (off/on bus).
On the one hand it's hard and sad to see how people are to struggle, and on the other hand I'm falling more and more in love with Latin America. My life has changed a lot in the last three years, and I now see the world with completely different eyes. I don't know why it is the way it is or why I feel the way I feel, but can't get away from Latin America. The people, their culture and, despite their difficult situation, are some of the friendliest and most grateful people in the world. Thank you for sharing your impressions with us and keep up the good work! Best regards currently still from Germany.
@@KeenanLambert198 I have learned more about life and also about myself in the last three years than in the previous two decades. Above all, I learned to appreciate the little things in life much more, and at the same time realized that western luxury and weariness made me more unhappy than happy. Especially when you know how other people feel and offer their bodies for a handful of dollars just to survive. And yet there is so much love and kindness in these people. I have already gotten rid of many material things, sold them or given them away. For over a year now, in addition to full-time work and training, I have been attending a community college to learn Spanish. It is not easy and demands a lot from me, but I am determined and follow my heart to come into contact with the people in Latin America myself. It's good to see and know that there are people like you who treat the locals well and with respect. Not like some others who take advantage of people's difficult situations. Todo lo mejor para ti, quédate como estás. Amigo mío, saludos cordiales desde Alemania.

Thanks Keenan! Your video really gave me a a bird’s-eye view of Cuba. It’s such a beautiful and historic land with beautiful people! When I think of Cuba, I think of the story of Hachuey (the Taino Chief) who came to Cuba in the 15th Century to seek assistance in fighting off the Spanish in present-day Dominican Republic. The war was lost, with Hatchuey being burned at the stake (with the approval of the Catholic Church (Priest Las Casas).

Well done. Thank you for the inside look. I grew up in Miami (Hialeah) in the 60s and 70s. Miami’s relationship to Cube, at that time, was very complicated. Until recently, Cuba was off limits for US citizens. I hope things change.
I went four times between February 2023 and 2024 in resorts which are definitely not representative of the Cuban day to day life in a city. When I toured Old Havana I fell in love with the architecture and the definite beauty of the place but you can see the buildings need maintenance and that money is scarce. The people are amazing and I can understand why they beg, unfortunately. Great video, thanks.
Excellent idea. I've been researching.... But... In order to make a change... I have to get closer and have a real conversation and obtain buy-in on her end.... Might require several trips....
Been 10x. Stayed on Consulado once. I always bring 50# of goods. There are no tampons in Cuba, and the Tropicana dancers must dance regardless what time of the month. Men's sock and underwear are rare. The list goes on. I quit going. As much as I love the people, the government needs to go.
I live in south Florida and there are a lot of Cubans here and all the ones I have met or know are good people. Good job looking out for the older fellow and bringing him things that help. I wonder when or if it will ever change because there is so much opportunity there to thrive. Obviously not in the situation they are in and have been for a while.
Man this rips your heart out seeing the Cuban people like that. My wife’s family escaped from Cuba to Acapulco, Mexico over 60 years ago. The accent of the older family members is very similar to the way the people in your video speak. Interesting side note, they is a very large, rather unknown contingent of Afro Mexicans in the Acapulco area of Mexico. The majority of them are not of Cuban descent like my wife and are said to be descended from a marooned slave ship. I also had a co-worker who’s parents were Cuban and he said he went there as a teen when the embargo was lifted. He said the girls were literally throwing themselves at him and the stores had nothing to sell. I hope things get better. Stay safe
I went to Acapulco and saw some of those same non Caribbean Afro Mexicans… They’re cool people… The young ladies in Cuba…. Mannnnn, I feel so bad for them…. They’re forced into a rough situation….
I’ve been going to Cuba since 2001. My heart breaks every time but I love the people and culture and at this point my friends there have become family. 💔

This particular video was featured on that page a couple weeks ago. A lot of the locals weren't happy about it. Saying you were exploiting the women and their situation, showing the country in a bad light and you should have covered the pregnant girls face etc. Other Cubans were coming to your defense saying you were actually shedding light on the problems that exist there. Not sure if you were aware but just wanted to let you know and say be safe out there.

@@hisel777 they need to be more efficient and do more with the little they have
It’s weird that people in the states get brain washed so bad, and think that Cuba’s struggles are due to a country ten thousand miles away, when in reality it’s due to American sanction

Then in Havana, you would have to stay in Vedado or Miramar.
Brother Keenan, thanks for this! It’s really sad, a country 90miles from Florida is so impoverished due to a 60 year old beef from the 1960s. Cuba is not the same Cuba as it was back then. Sanctions should’ve been lifted years ago!
From your fingers straight to Congress…. Please, for the love of regional security…. Can we let them live!?
No, it's not due to any of that. Sanctions must stay. You don't understand the embargo subject. Stop it.

You, your life, and the American lives that will be lost in wars all over the world because of Cuba.

I was in Cuba 3 weeks ago and it was the best trip I ever been on. Nothing sexually or meeting women, but the people were beautiful souls even though they are in very poor conditions.
What did you do while you were there? What would you recommend for others?
@@donnellwillcot "But I never felt so safe than when I was in Cuba."
You only went to tourist places.

Especially when you know how other people feel and offer their bodies for a handful of dollars just to survive. And yet there is so much love and kindness in these people.

Stay safe
