- We are diving back into the night scene of communist Cuba. Alina Fernandez will join us for a fun night adventure that will take us from Vedado to the Malecon to Old Havana. I will do my best to stay out of trouble despite the many temptations Cuba has. Lets go!!!!

Man how cool. Makes me regret the trip I missed when my friends visited Cuba and absolutely loved it. Look at those guys doing Bob Marley covers, they may not be rich in material terms but I bet you their lives are more fulfilling than many people pursuing the rat race. It has me thinking - is life about pursuing material or personal happiness. Can one exist without the other. I know most of us rush to simply pursue material stuff but not sure at the end of it all that is satisfying. Bravo to those who follow their own dreams without being overly impacted by what the rest of the crowd does.

The live music piece is thus far the least liked portion of the video.... Regardless, I will keep using the live music as it is a huge part of the vibe in La Habana.... The women working in the bar is actually a nutruitionist who makes more as a server on the Malecon..... The professional types are the ONLY datable ones... Those girls without jobs...... When back in Cuba try a club called Shangri-La don't remember the address but its in Havana and its a more upper society club. In my handicapped state I was able bag several trophy's(🤪😝😜) for my wall.

I believe you had some shots of the Malecon with houses all lit up? No such thing back in the day. Only a couple of houses done up and a few bars. The rest were all rotting away, even right by the centre of town.

1. Havana (Safest - Most Bang for your buck)
2. Cartagena (Wildest - Anything goes in CTG - Expensive)
3. Bogota (Good - Dangerous - inexpensive) Dont only stay in BOG...... move to different cities of the country
3a. Medellin (Fun but dangerous and tooooo many potentials)
4. Panama City (Stable - Only lit on the weekends Friday, Sat)
5. Santiago de Cuba (Dirty Cheap but kinda of difficult)

All right Keenan, I guess all the cameras on the Prado doesn't dissuade anyone anymore, eh ? For a rum afficianado, why are you drinking white rum ? I haven't seen you eating anywhere that I eat, yet. There are (or used to be) 6 expat Italian restaurants. There are a handful of decent Cuban restaurants starting with the 3 Astriuanas ones (Castropol on the Malecon, Los Nardos opposite the Capitolio and a grilled meat place further north on the Prado) . La Catedral out past the Melia hotel, a mideastern place on the Malecon just east of Jazz Cafe. Biky is passable for some things. Thats all I can think of off the top of my head

I have been thinking of flying down to Havana to buy a case of Santiago and paying the darn duties/taxes for bringing it back home. I can't yet rationalize going to Havana just to buy rum but listening to the music on your videos makes me miss it all the more.
BTW As a friend of mine used to say, "nada para nada" as far as jineteros and beggars were concerned. i would buy out the peanuts from some vendors (being old and desperate is tough) as they are at least trying to help themselves. Normal people do not approach tourists. Hustlers approach tourists.
