He certainly does. I first read some of his works about a decade ago and it changed my life. I am amazed that I had forgotten to follow him, but I had a severe accident and brain injury that set my life back. In short, his words helped me through my battle and I am now finding him again.
People think Eckharts way has to be passive, coming from someone who does physical labor and deals with knuckleheads,I can assure you entering the flow state allows you to work harder then white knuckling all day

I started my “I AM” journey with Tolle and no book has been more impactful than power of now to me. But once you are at peace with the present moment then one can use the law to achieve anything they want in this life.

I think it beautiful that you are even asking such a question. In my opinion I think it might very well indicate you're playing a role. And perhaps even more than that, the role you're trying to play may be one that is far from your true nature, and this why you feel so tired because of the energy it takes to "perform". However there could also be other reasons for why you're tired, like you intentionally trying to elevate your energy and enthusiasm to bring those around you up as well. I think it prudent for you to try as best you can to be present with yourself the next time you're around people and see what you feel. Do you feel comfortable and at ease? Do you feel stressed and the need to perform? The more present you can be with yourself during or after the event I believe (again I'm my humble opinion) that the truth you're seeking will be revealed. But keep asking the questions...
Sometimes I also find myself drained of energy after being with others. Again I believe everything is a message and the message in this could be that those around you are just very unconscious. There isn't anything wrong with that it sound alike your body is telling you there is alot of unconsciousness in that experience u just encountered, and those will be the greatest tests for you to stay present more and more as time goes on. Don't pressure yourself into making sure you stay present just see it as a lesson, each time. How much more present can u stay when in that company and eventually u will become rooted deeply
Some people are introverts. That means that they feel drained by others while extroverts thrive among other people. It may be an indicator that you are playing a role (employee, parent, neighbor etc.) which is tiresome of course but also some roles are more demanding than others. When you're below someone in the hierarchy you have to always mind your words etc. as they have power over you. Another reason for tiredness may be the low vibration of the other people. People who are very egoic have a low vibration that drags you down. Even when they are "positive" like celebrating or partying they make you feel drained on an energy level. Some people are downright "energy vampires" who feed of other people's energy (think Internet trolls, the US president).

@@Camelotsmoon The equality Eckhart talks about doesn't have anything to do with economic inequality. Whether if you are poor or rich doesn't mean anything to what is real (presence or conciousness). The ego is just an accumulation of thoughts one identifies with whether they be positive or negative, so the rich could potentially have positive thoughts because of a false sense of security from money but that doesn't mean their above the ego. Same could be said for a poor person. Presence is beyond thoughts and that's equal in both poor and rich whether they realize it or not is another matter.

Good question. Let's say you're an adult who is middle-aged around 30 or 40. Do you need to look down on someone who is just 18? Do you need to look up to someone who is 70? Or the other way around? Treat everybody with respect.

He certainly does. I first read some of his works about a decade ago and it changed my life. I am amazed that I had forgotten to follow him, but I had a severe accident and brain injury that set my life back. In short, his words helped me through my battle and I am now finding him again.

I started my “I AM” journey with Tolle and no book has been more impactful than power of now to me. I think it beautiful that you are even asking such a question. In my opinion I think it might very well indicate you're playing a role. And perhaps even more than that, the role you're trying to play may be one that is far from your true nature, and this why you feel so tired because of the energy it takes to "perform". However there could also be other reasons for why you're tired, like you intentionally trying to elevate your energy and enthusiasm to bring those around you up as well. I think it prudent for you to try as best you can to be present with yourself the next time you're around people and see what you feel. Do you feel comfortable and at ease? Do you feel stressed and the need to perform? The more present you can be with yourself during or after the event I believe (again I'm my humble opinion) that the truth you're seeking will be revealed. But keep asking the questions...
Sometimes I also find myself drained of energy after being with others. Again I believe everything is a message and the message in this could be that those around you are just very unconscious. There isn't anything wrong with that it sound alike your body is telling you there is alot of unconsciousness in that experience u just encountered, and those will be the greatest tests for you to stay present more and more as time goes on. Don't pressure yourself into making sure you stay present just see it as a lesson, each time. How much more present can u stay when in that company and eventually u will become rooted deeply
Some people are introverts. That means that they feel drained by others while extroverts thrive among other people. It may be an indicator that you are playing a role (employee, parent, neighbor etc.) which is tiresome of course but also some roles are more demanding than others. When you're below someone in the hierarchy you have to always mind your words etc. as they have power over you.
Another reason for tiredness may be the low vibration of the other people. People who are very egoic have a low vibration that drags you down. Even when they are "positive" like celebrating or partying they make you feel drained on an energy level. Some people are downright "energy vampires" who feed of other people's energy (think Internet trolls, the US president).
I thought his buttons were sewn like smiley faces. That would've been so awesome.

BECAUSE THEY'RE PAID A BIG NUMBER WHICH BOOSTS THEIR EGO ABOVE NEGATIVITY.... Monks don't have a monetary system, they are all fed the same amount of food, for the work each person can put in.... Is the head monk given more than one that's only been on the journey for a few years? No...

@Wesley Chapman I'm not exactly sure it's easy for a poor man either, seeing as they have to worry about just as much, yet it's more basic things.. like shelter...or food.. the kingdom of heaven is just love? Poor people can have just as less of a heart because they're put in a phase of constant survival; there is no one piece of advice, or famous quote that can summarize the entirety of human existence.
You answered your question already. Society is run by ego. It's OK to have more than enough money but hoarding it and power won't make you happy.
@@Camelotsmoon The equality Eckhart talks about doesn't have anything to do with economic inequality. Whether if you are poor or rich doesn't mean anything to what is real (presence or conciousness). The ego is just an accumulation of thoughts one identifies with whether they be positive or negative, so the rich could potentially have positive thoughts because of a false sense of security from money but that doesn't mean their above the ego. Same could be said for a poor person. Presence is beyond thoughts and that's equal in both poor and rich whether they realize it or not is another matter.
Feel presence in the inner body, beyond thought and form, transmute into Space, Silence, Being.

Do you treat an aged person the same way you treat a younger person?
Good question. Let's say you're an adult who is middle-aged around 30 or 40. Do you need to look down on someone who is just 18? Do you need to look up to someone who is 70? Or the other way around? Treat everybody with respect.
