Using 2×4 GB and 2×8 GB RAM can work, but it might not be optimal. Mixing different RAM sizes can cause stability issues and might not run in dual-channel mode, which can lead to performance loss. It's usually best to use identical modules for the best performance. That said, I used a 2×8 GB + 2×4 GB DDR3 setup for years, and it worked fine for me.

I have the Optiplex 9020 SFF with the i7 4790 and the cpu temps are very high (gaming, heavy load) this is normal?

What temps are you seeing? High CPU temps (60-80°C) under heavy load or gaming can be normal, but it's important to ensure they stay within safe limits. The i7 4790 can handle higher temps, but consistently high temperatures can reduce its lifespan.

This video is a test of the desktop version of the HD 4600. The mobile version of the card used in the Thinkpad you mentioned will have worse performance.

Yes, Windows 10 works without any problems on the HD 4600. I do not recommend you to install Windows 8.1 because this system is no longer supported by Microsoft.

Windows 8 and 8.1 have lost support on Steam. You are required to use Windows 10.

You do not have graphics drivers installed. You can download them on Intel's website.
