What, stop playing with them guys' names. Lofi hip hop/trap jazz/beats to study to/chill hop is so far removed from what these guys were really about. I doubt they'd want to be even associated with that cringy side of things
L_O_Him you do realize lo fi hiphop wasn’t a thing back when j dilla and nujabes was around right? Of corse there style was not solely based off of-.. well lo fi sampling. but a good majority of their music were of that quality. People who grew up in the 90’s that were fans of these two, motivated that specific style that we call today “lofi hiphop”. J dilla and Nujabes gave us the concept. Of corse there’s a lot of trashy try hards out there that do it. But there are some good ones too. Earl sweatshirt raps on them all the time too.

You have the main mother tree that grows nothing but fire ass weed. But it is slowly starting to die and you will never get a chance to experience it again. So what do you do to keep the style relevant? You clone it. But these clones will never be as good as The original. Get it?
