Duran Duran is one of the most underrated bands in pop/rock! They melded new wave, rock, pop, and funk in such a classy and perfect way. No other band sounded like them. Visually they were superb as well. Good looking dudes with modern fashion and beautiful models in their videos? I envied these guys as gods as a kid. I still do!
While most groups try to find their style and recycle music ideas under it, DD blatantly took ideas from Japan the band, pink Floyd, funk, house, American style, and built original songs with it. So we are left with original songs and very good ones. Top notch productions, image, they are a class on their own. They owned pop from 1982 to 1985 and ANY successful band in the 80s would now be considered gods in comparison to the contemporary offerings.
This song popped up randomly and I began listening, thinking "how did I miss this 80s gem?" I really thought it was one of their earlier tunes that I'd somehow never heard! Well done, Duran Duran 👍🏻❤👌🏻🤘🏻🎵
@@kbc163 exactly, yes! I thought maybe it was a track that somehow didn't make its way onto the Rio album (or yes, SATRT!) but one that DD recorded in those days ❤
Most incredible thing about this song is that it has the great uplifting Chorus but no Duran harmonies which is so rare, yet it holds itself as a fabulous Duran song and I have been a huge fan since 1979......melody from Simon as JT commented 'brought the song home' as they were going to toss it
With Superbowl on last Sunday, after the game I decided to treat my guest's once again to some fantastic dance, or even sit down music. I turned on this song, everyone got up and started to dance. Great dance song. I notice that 12 people put thumbs down on this song, Why?? 236 fans put thumbs up. Listen to Simon Le Bon's amazing voice, the Band there amazing. Great song, great party song. Fantastic just to relax after a hard day at work, school, and life. Close your eyes and let this song take you away. Duran Duran is #1 in the world and will always be #1.
When I think of what made the 80's fun for me; Playing baseball in the summer, football in the fall and the music. Duran Duran is my favorite group of all time
Fantastic song like all the rest of Duran Duran's amazing talent. Simon's voice is beautiful like always. Nick's melodic riffs, wow this man is priceless with all his talent too. John's bass is so upbeat. And dear Roger, best drummer in the world. Duran Duran #1 Band in the world. Love them so much! Each of them have the talent to put out the best music in the world. Thank you to each and everyone in Duran Duran. xxxXxxx
I'm a Duran Duran lover, but often criticise their music post-1985. However, 'All You Need is Now' is definitely a great album and has some amazing tracks on it.
Pop music became over-produced (I mean in the studio) starting around 1986 and all the instruments / synths drown out the bass line working with the drum track. It is not a coincidence, then, that great pop music hit its peak around 1984. I wish DD kept their 81-83 sound always, but I don't fault them for always exploring new musical frontiers.
Never heard this track before, so gave the original a listen, and I totally agree with you about missing out the 'lay me on your bed' section'. The song doesn't need it, and I think it actually interrupts the energy of the track. Your version is absolutely brilliant, love it!
I question, what is wrong with knighting Duran Duran? Second, why are they not in the Hall of frame. Third, why didn't this song hit #1 on the charts? We're all aware that Duran Duran is The #1 Band in the entire world.. Simon, John, Nick, Roger, Andy has talent in their bones, there outstanding. Breaks my heart that Duran Duran doesn't have more, they all have earned it and a lot more with their career in music. Duran Duran releases beautiful songs each and every time they release an album/song's.
I do agree with honoring them with titles. They've offered so much to the music world and influenced so many. The thing is, the honour system is messed up, the "pop" groups seem to be ignored. Rock artists however, are considered more "deserving".
Rio Day was yesterday ( May 10. 1982 ) been in full Duran Duran play mode since.... our favorite guys had a few bad years, but this and Astronaut are what we love !
Whole "All you need is now" Album is one of my beloved ones.Nostalgic sound reminiscent of their first 2 albums DURAN DURAN/RIO period. Also love "Run runaway".Love the photo you've used.Wakes up teenage memories.
This is like Rio and Last Chance on the Stairway had a baby :D - with a bit of Late Bar/New Religion thrown in? PS - This uplifting song got through me dark times a couple of years ago - thank you, gentlemen
Este album en especial es y sera icono de musica semiobscura que solo los Duranes restantes despues de la catastrofe musical por la que atravesaron se ha convertido en algo inusual
Should have been released on the Rio album and a main single as well .. another error in judgement by the music industry executives .. its such a catchy up beat positive feel good moment that casts me back in time to a friend I had a major crush on .. she never knew how much I liked her .. this song said it all
Too bad Andy and Roger didn't get the memo about the stripes... j/k, this is SUBLIME indeed, thanks so much for posting! Straight into my favourites... and into my heart
JFC! What a tribute! You could put this on the Rio album and it would fit perfectly! Mad skills! Just subscribed- blown away! Got to catch my breath. Oh, nice ref to Mr. Bates (NR) regarding the track reversal! Your love of the band is beautifully (pun intended) shown throughout!
The contrast between the pre-chorus with vocals and the pre-chorus without vocals makes the last pre-chorus feel slightly different from the preceding pre-choruses, thereby adding a slight freshness and element of surprise to the last pre-chorus. I think that's why they did it that way originally.

I thought the same thing. This sounds like it came from the "Rio/Seven and the Ragged Tiger" era. Just brilliant. ❤
@@kbc163 exactly, yes! I thought maybe it was a track that somehow didn't make its way onto the Rio album (or yes, SATRT!) but one that DD recorded in those days ❤
Same. The thumbnail (and the "night version" tag) reinforced this impression even before I listened
How on earth was this not a single? Its fantastic.
DD = Dynamic Duran Remix : )
40 years od DD for me and this is the first time I hear this song...cool
DD rock the 80s party......... I do year a bit of Flock of Seagulls in this toon though...... def not complaining!!!!

Sounds like a combo of "Hold Back the Rain" and "Shadows on Your Side" ... I love it ❤
Duran Durans movement from bridge to chorus feels like that moment when an accelerating planes lifts off the ground and speeds into the sky.
Totally agree, one of their absolute strength. Masters of lifting the vibe into the sky. And then those endgames...
As a pilot i agree!
I totally understand you! I adore AYNIN!)

Duran. wonderful band, roger very average drummer, very little creative fills
@@andybweber I disagree with your comment Andrew Weber. Roger is a fantastic drummer they are all very talented.
@@7dianegreen Everybody is entitled to their opinion. As a drummer I do not rate him highly

Best Non Official Duran Remix I've heard
This 👆 one works very well for me
It's an Undiscovered gem 💎 anyway from All you need is Now
This a Phenomenal and Tremendously sound of the Double DD Universe
Man, this one brings me back to the 80s. Love it!

Yeah. The b-side from All she wants is also great tune
Give “Big Thing” another go- I swear it has aged well as have the others! Or, it’s just cause there is shite out there now-
I love this song! It is absolutely a fantasic upbeat song. Simon really sounds so fantastic, pure bliss!! ;)

Has that airy electric yet rock space ship feel... silver outfit, hands up and dance floor... gee loving this track
Didn’t realise that this wasn’t the actual night version, well done, I think it’s brilliant. Thank you for taking the time to do this.
Golf job. Thanks.
Good job,of course.
This is how it should have been recorded...particularly giving more prominence to the bass. This version could easily have been on rio or dd1. Bravo.
