A Noob's Guide to ELTHARION THE WARDEN, a warrior whose code of honor is pushed to the brink as he fights an unforgiving and unstoppable enemy bent on desctuction. Which is a description I totally ripped from THE DARK KNIGHT. Eltharion is a playable High Elf legendary lord in the WARDEN and the PAUNCH DLC for TOTAL WAR: Warhammer 2.

Fun Fact: Eltharion recently came back in Age of Sigmar and he duel wields his sword from his Eltharion the Blind backstory and his sword from his Eltharion the Grim backstory.
Because all lore is subjective in the eyes of GW.

@@Sk0lzky Thanks to Arkhan, he's a soul trapped in a armor, because the Curse of Ages is so powerul that Teclis was able to bring back his soul but backup bodies keeps crumbling to dust.

Eltharion the grim is also 7th and 8th edition, he only existed as the blind in 6th edition. Then GW realized that maybe having one HE who's story doesn't revolve round the DE is a better idea

Nah. Rorscach's ugly and unhygienic. Eltharion is dapper and cleanly. Rorschach lives in a shitty apartment and spends his spare time judging single mothers. Eltharion lives in an underground fortress and spends his time ridding his city of green scum. Definitely more like Batman.

Yeah... Eltharion should REALLY avoid Arkhan the Black...
But on the plus side if he doesn't he gets to eventually come back as a soul inhabiting a magic suit of armor.
That Age of Sigmar model is really cool. They designed it to look hollow and float in midair. It made me want to start painting minis.
What do you mean? I'm sure that if Eltharion got his rematch with Arkhan, that incident in the end times won't happen twice.

*I actually like Eltharion.*
He is a powerful mage who is still a solid fighter. The spell "flaming concave" (think it was that) sends in a line of fire that burns any battle line. Teclis can do this twice, Eltharion can do it as often as he wants to, what makes him more powerful in my view.
His elite units are strong but balanced and get buffed by the faction skills of interrogated prisoners.
"Groms Waaagh" for example makes his average swordsman quite powerful. In a battle they slaughtered over 100 Chaoswarriors - not bad.
When you imprison a legendary lord, the faction is headless and much weaker.
And he can give one out of 4 buffs to his heroes when they reached level 15.
The mists of Yvress really hurt any army trying to invade Ulthuan.
He can reduce the building time for garrison buildings down to 1, which is pretty gangster
He can recruit global units in 1 term and his units heal for a few rounds after tearing down a greenskin settlement.
After all, he is really cool !
I'd absolutely love to see some of the older DLC lords covered by these guides, they're endlessly entertaining and honestly informative!

I have never heard such an accurate description of the High Elf legendary lords.
Rewatching this after Eltharion did something that helped me very much on my Norsca campaign. He confederated Eatine and got me the Long Victory at last.
I was about to start an -Asurmen- Eltharion campaign and this is good to know!
You never seem to miss with these.
I certainly try not to. There's alot of work that goes into the writing, and I'm lucky to have a creative spouse to bounce ideas off of.
Noob's Guide to Khalida? The only tomb queen stuck between a Kroq and a Queek place to start, plus for lore she has some bloody beef with her better looking cousin and she got Gotrek to run her errands by threatening to give his boyfriend a poisonous purple nurple knowing full well that the snakes needed to do it hadn't taken their little blue pill in a long while. Interested to see what take you have on her.

Beastmen and Wood Elves need a tune-up first. There's no way their mechanics aren't being worked on for a future update.

I like the comment about a mechanic that affects the campaign and battle maps. I always wanted the ability to destroy bridges in the face of the enemy advance to slow them down on both maps.

Also, next Noobs guide to be either Karl Franz or Gotrek & Felix. I know Gotrek doesn’t have his own faction, but he’s a general and immortal, so he counts as a Legendary Lord, and you can’t do Gotrek without Felix because you know why.

So random lore note about Eltharion. In the End Times he gets killed by Arkhan the Black when Arkham uses the curse of years to literally disintergrate him. Then neither him or Nagash enslave his soul so his back in Age of Sigmar leading the newest Elven... sorry Aelven faction the Lumineth Realm Lords as a possessed suit of armor because Arkhans curse of years is still effecting him so anybody his soul gets put in gets reduced to dust. Also in the End Times after dying, as a ghost he gave his living family members his sword to carry on his legacy but they get killed two books later because they didn't like having a Dark Elf High King.
