So what if Kendra left out the bit about sleeping with Hef? She didn’t leave that detail out to be “better than you” there’s probably a lot of shame/trauma surrounding that for her if she didn’t want to share it that’s honestly understandable. She was preyed upon by an old man when she was fucking 18. Who the hell wants to talk about the time they were forced into sex by a predator when they were a kid? Way to turn that small detail into a stupid “I’m Better than you” competition than for what is really was which is her abuse is none of your business.
I know what I mean, I hate hearing something u wanna know about and then the interviewer don’t let them finish and the don’t get back to it. ie “she never finished what the runners, hustlers and FIGHTERS are”. Buttttt she’s interviewing and has to keep the talk running, stories would keep going and going if she let her, I mean this is the founder of Playboy who was elderly, there are stories to go for months. But you can notice the cuts, she did let her finish, but maybe wasn’t that interesting or a run on or it was getting to be 5 or 6 hours ya know!
I wish she would just let holly talk about what she wanted instead of Alex trying to tell her story for her. So annoying. I haven’t seen an interview with this much interrupting ever. Like I really wanted to hear more from holly, this interview was painful to watch. Alex needs to learn basic communication skills.
I admired how Holly Madison has stayed true to herself throughout the entertainment industry. She has always been received as sweet, genuine, kind, gracious and humble.
Holly seemed so nervous at first until Alex gushed her respect for her drudging through judgement and stereotypes and that totally made her more comfortable it was really sweet to notice
The worst part is she phrased it like “is that how you felt” but literally just repeated what holly said in general terms, like yes girl that is how she feels cause that’s what she just said🥴🙃
she's so well-spoken and self-aware. Not having known anything about Holly Madison before this interview i figured she would be kind of an airhead tbh but i was surprised. loved this
This is a fantastic interview. Trauma is hard to get away from, hard to talk about, so glad more are that were seen and looked up to in a way that wasn't the reality. I love how informed Holly is about gas lighting, emotional abuse, reflection on everything. There's a part where you talk about what to say as a bystander. I love love love that you bring that up. Families, friends, neighbors observing on the outside need to say, "Are you okay?" When you're in it, even if one day your crying your eyes out can't take it anymore, you don't get how bad it is and it's likely or for some worse. When you're going through it, you survive, you say what you have to just to get up and look in the mirror but see what you've been told you then are. You make excuses and everyone seems to like that abusive person so it must be you or all your friends (his, cuz of isolation) start separating themselves from you. So the few that do, or maybe just outside bystanders, people not being abused have red flags something isn't right. The person in it might say yes or there are good times and that roller coaster thing, but keep asking and in different ways. At the very least, the person going through it will remember you noticed and said something out of all of the people that just watched and did nothing. Again, great interview.
We love holly!!!! For the second interview, may we please hear holly talk about her stories and experiences without Alex interjecting a bunch? It was really difficult to listen to.
I met holly at EDC 10 years ago ❤️ They had just shut everything down because the winds were too bad and they were sending everyone home. A large group of people refused to leave so gathered in an area with bleachers and open grass. All of a sudden, Steve Aoki pulled up on an open bus and put on a private performance. I remember having such an amazing moment and then looking up and seeing Holly dancing on the top of the bus. It seemed unreal! When she came down, we talked to her and got a pic. She was such a kind, pure soul! That was honestly the best night of my life
Hold up “thigh openers,” “I don’t remember a time in that bedroom when I wasn’t wasted,” “I was so wasted and I was just thrown into it” I get that the old man’s dead now but why isn’t anyone talking about how he systematically assaulted who knows how many women throughout the growth of an empire he literally built on their backs
He couldn’t of built that empire if all those woman said a simple little word... NO!! But they did it to further themselves. You can’t put all the blame on one side. They both benefited.
@@francescamaina5297 how did he assault anyone? These women were not raped or forced. These women were there because they wanted something from hef and they knew the rules...it's nasty as fuck but he wasn't a rapist so just stop it
@Sara Mill aside from the way they speak listen to the interview it was really good and insightful dont you think ? People used to idolize the playboy mansion this is actually interesting to see how much was hidden from the show
Holly is not neurodivergent because she SAYS she is. She is trying to excuse poor past behavior by blaming it on a spectrum disorder. This is highly offensive to those who actually have one. If you listen to her other interviews, you’ll see the inconsistencies and lies.
@@jenniferjenkins1979no it’s not. Most women on the spectrum never get diagnosed or do so later on in life. High-functioning autism in women often looks very different than how it manifests in men. I’m on the spectrum and a woman, I’m glad she mentioned that

I’ve been listening to CHD since the very beginning and I personally think this was BY FAR the best episode. Alex was so clear and thoughtful. Like both women were so open and got their full thoughts across.
I stopped right before the drama with Sophia. This is the first one I’ve listened to since then. Alex is such a comforting human and I’m glad she didn’t follow in Sophia’s foot steps. She deserves this with all her hard work.
I’ve never seen more than a few clips of this podcast, so I had no bias going into this interview/episode. I agree 1000% I like it when the interviewer and the interviewee can both get their full points across and just have a healthy conversation, no talking over each other or anything like that. It’s just nice, especially considering it is Holly and these are “controversial” topics and she’s had a “controversial” for the public part of it. I just really liked their communication. It impressed me bc so many people have podcasts now, it’s easy for them to be watered down. I may start watching/listening to this regularly tho.
This podcast is absolutely amazing the way that you got more information out of her then she even was able to put her book I love it and I don’t mean any shade by that I just mean you made her feel so comfortable that she opened up and I think that’s fantastic and I think she Needs to keep talking about this and exposing that man for what he really and truly was
Alex, LET HER TALK PLEASE!!!! Seemed like everytime Holly was getting somewhere she would get cut off and Alex would go off on a tangent lol but great interview overall!
Seems Alex cuts off to steer Holly's comments to support her "I'm a wealthy porn star but I'm only successful because I'm a victim of creepy abusive misogynistic toxic men" agenda
I've always liked Holly but after seeing this interview have even more respect for her. I love how brutally honest she is about situations that most women can or will at one time or another go through and her grace throughout it all and the way she carries herself at all times. The only critique would be the woman interviewing just never shuts up and felt at times even Holly had to interrupt to be able to get a word in which was quite uncomfortable to watch. Also the woman interviewing looks all around the room whilst on her rants and hardly looks at her guest which is rude. But having said that she did ask good questions and overall was knowledgeable and relatable throughout. Really enjoyed this and LOVE Holly she really is an amazing strong woman x
I have never watched this podcast in my life BUT LET ME TELL YOU I HAVE BEEN CHECKING THIS CHANNEL EVERYDAY FOR THE PAST WEEK WAITING FOR THIS!!!! Im currently re-reading Down the Rabbit Hole for the 5th time.

I’m 22 and I have a really low sex drive. I always feel like I’m missing out because my friends have all these great stories and connections and I don’t even have the want to do those things.
They made a good point! When you get into a toxic relationship, you will end up isolating yourself from people to save it and you’ll look up one day and the toxic dude is the only person you have. It sucks.
The Mads one was honestly just wow I think so many people need to apologise she wasn’t crazy for listening to her gut instinct and her being 18 handled the situation way better than some would
@@rpnp2 I think that’s a big reason why she looks so good. That and being out of that situation and being able to live her own life. That can really show on someone. @@michaelharwood3105 i love the playboy aesthetic, brand and lifestyle, but i’m pretty sure history itself and the countless women who have came forward can definitely let you know holly has no reason to fabricate her story. Hefners last bride even confirmed many of holly’s claims as well. You can still enjoy the Playboy image without doubting the fact that Hef was a pretty shitty person lol.
@@luvven0m these aren’t countless women. They are a small handful who told several different stories and were paid to say negative things. I have proof.
It’s so true when people tell you ‘why didn’t you just leave the relationship’ it’s the most stupidest question. Like don’t you know I would’ve already thought of that. It’s so much harder than it actually looks and most of the time people who are in a toxic relationship just want to them to listen.
Exactly!! And he even has that one “main” girlfriend. And they are all super young...close to 18. The fact that men look up to him and put him on a pedestal don’t understand how messed up these people are.
I wonder if Holly still speaks to anyone from her mansion days aside from Bridget. Is she still in touch with any of the playmates and staff? I hope in the future Alex invites Bridget to the podcast to tell about her time at the mansion and what she's up to now.
This makes me so sad but its cool to hear Holly speak so openly about all of this. Abusive relationships often result in trauma bonds, very similar to stockholm syndrome. Repeatedly experiencing the intermittent reinforcement of the abuse cycle alters your brain chemistry. If you’re being abused but feel a strong, overwhelming attachment to your abuser I highly encourage you to look into trauma bonding.
I relate so much to Holly. From not being neurotypical, to feeling kind of asexual because of my hard time connecting to people. I noticed back on GND that we were very similar in our behavior and now she says she’s on the spectrum which is so strange because I feel that way too and I think I recognized that in her back on GND. Which I why I’ve always been such a fan. I hope I can meet her someday. I think we’d have a lot in common.
Thanku, to both women. Describing these toxic relationships - I'm in 1. I can't get out. Not now. But 1 day I'll be able 2. ''Just leave". Worst advice. And often, ppl get sick of your drama. So you stop talking about it. Love to both of you, you're both amazing - Love from Au xxoo
Holly is much smarter than I ever thought. I also watched the show bc I’m her age. They made her out to be so dumb. She’s also so naturally gorgeous and aging so gracefully. Like she had very little makeup on and looks the same as she did when she was on the show. Even if she’s had work done, it looks great. Love this podcast!
@@boredonyoutube8289 Obviously, but this is not just any adjective but the equivalent of the comment above. "if a man says 'she's , don' t ask what she did but what he did". Now if the roles were reversed everybody would lose their shit and scream VICTIM BLAMING! Nah it's not funny, if she's crazy she's a toxic bitch and it doesn't matter what he did she just can't control herself because she's a kid and it's deserving the he leaves. Just like when a guy is crazy there's no validation. Crazy people should just reflect on themselves instead of being proud of their toxicit. 🙂
She is such a nice person. Glad she is sharing her story, it will inevitably be a help to another girl in this world that is struggling. We all need some type of help in this world to make our way to success.

I suggest y'all go get her book/e-book and read along to her voice on audible. Love her 💕
I really enjoyed this episode but as a journalist, please Alex try and learn more about the art of interviewing. You have the charisma and the talent to be a fantastic interviewer but you are missing basic skills that would bring so much more out of your guests. A comment I see popping up time and time again is “she’s interrupting the guest so much!” and it’s true. It’s something that people who don’t have any media/journalism training struggle with when they get their own show because their ego tells them subconsciously the show should be all about them, but really you should be making it all about your guests. By all means you can interject and give anecdotes here and there, but let the guest talk. You will find that people reveal so much more if you just let them continue with their thought rather than interjecting constantly with what you think they’re going to say. A big part of being a great interviewer is being a great listener, and that’s something I think you would massively benefit from working on. You always seem to be sticking to a list of questions, thinking 3 questions ahead at all times rather than bouncing off of the guest and it just ruins the flow of the interview. Do a short interview techniques/skills course or find a mentor who’s a phenomenal interviewer and I’m telling you now, you’ll be great.
I liked this interview so much. I really like the girls next door and i liked holly, kendra and bridget. Holly was so open about everything and i really want to read this book now.
I also dated a man that was 30+ years older than me and I now identify as high functioning autistic and asexual, haha. I wonder if there is a correlation there.... anyway, there’s light at the end of the tunnel!
I’m glad Holly was so authentic in this interview. I admired her personality on their show, but I always questioned her loyalty to Hef. Edit: questioned it as in, “why was she so loyal to Hef as she put in a lot of time to man who didn’t give her marriage or a family.”
In her book, she writes that she and Bridgette were the only loyal GF’s while Kendra was out cheating. She said at the beginning of the relationship, he was amazing but once she started seeing his bad side, they couldn’t leave because they had no money or place to go. Plus, they felt that they would be shamed for being in a relationship with an older man. She also said Hef made it seem like the other girlfriends were the reasons why he was so upset and taking it out on Holly. Once everyone moved out, she realized he was still the same angry man.
i just found out about this podcast and i wish the interviewer let Holly speak more. She is so well spoken and has so much to tell that is a shame she barely spoke about thing because the interviewer keep interrupting. Hope you can fix that! Great to hear about holly she is awesome

Alex when you have a guest as legendary as Holly Madison. Please stop interrupting her and let her talk 🤦♀️
Yes I agree
I know what I mean, I hate hearing something u wanna know about and then the interviewer don’t let them finish and the don’t get back to it. ie “she never finished what the runners, hustlers and FIGHTERS are”.
Buttttt she’s interviewing and has to keep the talk running, stories would keep going and going if she let her, I mean this is the founder of Playboy who was elderly, there are stories to go for months. But you can notice the cuts, she did let her finish, but maybe wasn’t that interesting or a run on or it was getting to be 5 or 6 hours ya know!
This interviewer is doing entirely too much, all the compliments came off as major @$$ kissing!
Yesss!!
Dudeeee.. I almost stopped watching bc of it but hollys professionalism kept me here
I wish she would just let holly talk about what she wanted instead of Alex trying to tell her story for her. So annoying. I haven’t seen an interview with this much interrupting ever. Like I really wanted to hear more from holly, this interview was painful to watch. Alex needs to learn basic communication skills.
I agree , very frustrating interview .
Yeah like why was she trying so hard to push a narrative
Totally agree. I finally got frustrated and quit watching. No one wants to hear this Alex girls story, or her thoughts. We’re here for Holly!
I admired how Holly Madison has stayed true to herself throughout the entertainment industry. She has always been received as sweet, genuine, kind, gracious and humble.
Don’t forget autistic as well 👀
Looolooop
Wish holly could have finished all those times she got cut off. It seemed like she was gonna say some good stuff 😔
Right! I loved that Holly was being so open, the interviewer had great questions but needed to let her talk and finish her stories
Holly seemed so nervous at first until Alex gushed her respect for her drudging through judgement and stereotypes and that totally made her more comfortable it was really sweet to notice
I’d rather just hear Holly answer the questions than listen to Alex interject what she assumes Holly was thinking....
i don’t think she interrupted that much
The worst part is she phrased it like “is that how you felt” but literally just repeated what holly said in general terms, like yes girl that is how she feels cause that’s what she just said🥴🙃
It’s maddening. She does it all the time.
alex needs to shut uo
she's so well-spoken and self-aware. Not having known anything about Holly Madison before this interview i figured she would be kind of an airhead tbh but i was surprised. loved this
Her IQ is above average for sure......
OMG yes. I thought it was just me.
Its like Alex is on speed or something. I was literally so anxious I couldnt finish the interview.
I have the upmost respect for her for being 100% honest this full interview like wow that’s actually unheard of
I met holly at EDC 10 years ago ❤️ They had just shut everything down because the winds were too bad and they were sending everyone home. That was honestly the best night of my life
That’s like a movie omgg
She’s the nicest!!!
I REMEMBER THIS!! I saw her at escape from wonderland the same year!
That sounds so awesome!
@@alexandragreen literally ICONIC ❤️
Hold up “thigh openers,” “I don’t remember a time in that bedroom when I wasn’t wasted,” “I was so wasted and I was just thrown into it” I get that the old man’s dead now but why isn’t anyone talking about how he systematically assaulted who knows how many women throughout the growth of an empire he literally built on their backs
He couldn’t of built that empire if all those woman said a simple little word... NO!! But they did it to further themselves. You can’t put all the blame on one side. They both benefited.
Yea I’m sad she didn’t acknowledge and validate Holly. What happened to her was not ok and Hugh Hefner was a predator and assaulted women.
Meh. the blame gen. Everyone needs to take responsibility for themselves.
@@francescamaina5297 how did he assault anyone? These women were not raped or forced. These women were there because they wanted something from hef and they knew the rules...it's nasty as fuck but he wasn't a rapist so just stop it
So disgusting I felt sick the whole time listening to this...
YES TO THIS INTERVIEW!!
It's like a no holds barred version of the girls next door commentary tracks.
@Sara Mill aside from the way they speak listen to the interview it was really good and insightful dont you think ? People used to idolize the playboy mansion this is actually interesting to see how much was hidden from the show
NO
As a neurodivergent woman, I really relate to Holly’s experiences and am so glad she shared this 💜
Holly is not neurodivergent because she SAYS she is.
I’m on the spectrum and a woman, I’m glad she mentioned that
After watching holly talk about being Nuro typical and not having a high sex drive really makes me feel better I have the same issue at 19 I sometimes thought maybe I was asexual too.
I feel the same about myself as well. I didn’t even know it was a thing.
Same!!!
same! but ive always known is normal. we just have to wait for the right person that makes us feel something
Its nice being seen 😌
@@sanchezcamachomariana576 For sure, I can confirm this! 😊 When you find the person that makes you feel safe and wants to pleasure you a lot of things changed for me atleast!
I feel like holly didnt get to really tell her story, she was consistently getting interrupted and talked over smh
She literally looks exactly the same so young and gorg

surprised she didn't touch on how all of her closest friends at the time were essentially employed by Playboy/Hef so she didn't have anyone to vent to or to be like "is this not normal or am I just crazy?" like her best friend was Hef's secretary lol
Bridgette
Not me fast forwarding through all the spots where Alex talks lmao
she loves to hear herself talk
LOL I WANTED TO DO THAT TOO!
Me too
How do you know when Holly starts, though?! 😅😅😅
I’m doing that right now!
I love how the host is talking about how she is such a good listener, but barely permits the guest to speak.
OH MY GOD OH MY GOD I AM SO EXCITED!!! I LOVED Holly so much! I grew up watching her, kendra and bridget on the girls next door!
Around Valentine’s Day me and my boyfriend were driving in Beverly Hills and we were stuck in traffic and Holly slowly drove past us in a baby blue range rover going the opposite way so the drivers side was next to us, and let me tell you she looks absolutely perfect in person. It was such a crazy moment because I used to watch the girls next door when I was a little girl (probably shouldnt have been🤣) but I was so excited that we saw her and now I’m so excited that she’s doing podcasts and things like that. She is so great and seems like such a sweet person
I’ve been listening to CHD since the very beginning and I personally think this was BY FAR the best episode. Alex was so clear and thoughtful. Like both women were so open and got their full thoughts across.
I literally just posted almost the same thing without even reading comments, loved the interview today it was at another level
@@glamgal28 haha similar minds !!
@@kellyanne1525 yes! I seriously enjoyed this video so much, definitely like to see more like this
I stopped right before the drama with Sophia.
This podcast is absolutely amazing the way that you got more information out of her then she even was able to put her book I love it and I don’t mean any shade by that I just mean you made her feel so comfortable that she opened up and I think that’s fantastic and I think she Needs to keep talking about this and exposing that man for what he really and truly was
The teenager in me that watched girls next door is screaming inside knowing all these details! I’m gonna have to rewatch the seasons now!
Does Alex have an off button??? Omg she constantly goes on rambles and interrupts holly!! So annoying. She needs major training
@@lisaburroughs7847 I don’t think her story is an “agenda” ..
I was wondering of it was worth the read, from your comment I am guessing so
this was the first CHD podcast I've ever watched/listened to & I love that it was the iconic Holly Madison's interview, love that for me
I've been waiting for this one. I love Holly!
Edit to add: good interview but the interviewer needs to let Holly talk.
Holly is an incredibly intelligent, complex, interesting human who deserves so much respect - thank you for showing us even more sides & stories to this modern icon! 💖
I love Holly Madison. She is so authentic and genuine. I look up to her so much, especially after reading her book and watching her interviews. She's amazing.
Holly gives such a good interview I literally could listen to anything she talks about!
Too bad she kept getting interrupted every time she opened her mouth🙄 this interviewer is terrible.
1:27:44 of holly being constantly interrupted
This interview is EVERYTHING omg
Instead of inviting Holly to the interview, you would´ve just read the book to us, as you kept interrupting every time Holly tried to tell an anecdote
Love Holly Madison, remember she was my favorite, I follow her on TH-cam. Being from Alaska, I was able to relate to her and relates to her personality.
I started using one of Holly's covering dark eye circles routine religiously. ❤️
This interview makes my morning 🙂
thank u guys for talking about how narcissists and toxic ppl trap u into toxic relationships. it’s so prevalent and girls don’t know what to look for or how to leave
Literally such a great interview. Holly is so good at talking and very captivating
It’s common to go from toxic relationship to toxic relationship. Many abused people do that. Some sadly for their whole lives.
Honestly I don’t use these words lightly...
But this is EPIC, ICONIC, A MOMENT.
I’m 22 and I have a really low sex drive. I always feel like I’m missing out because my friends have all these great stories and connections and I don’t even have the want to do those things.
life isn’t about sex don’t worry! there’s so many other stories and connections you can make for yourself through romance, friendship, etc.! :)
Im 17 & feel the same way. I’ve never got the appeal of sex especially with no connection.
You have plenty of time. Women's sexual peak is typically in your 30's. Trust me, it'll get there babe!!
I am 36 years old. At 22 I really was not that sexual it began in my early 30s for me.
a sexuality, or you just haven’t find a person you are sexually attracted to to want to explore and have experiences with.
this show is maturing and i’m loving it
!!!
definitely
Totally! So much better since Alex has been solo. It’s so much more insightful now !

She should own her time at the mansion. Kendra summed it up really well.
10000% TRUE!!!!🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
@@luvven0m these aren’t countless women. They are a small handful who told several different stories and were paid to say negative things. I have proof.
listening to how holly was treated by hef made me realize how toxic my relationship was.
It’s so true when people tell you ‘why didn’t you just leave the relationship’ it’s the most stupidest question.
Like don’t you know I would’ve already thought of that.
It’s so much harder than it actually looks and most of the time people who are in a toxic relationship just want to them to listen.
I’d say that the most skilled interviewers allow their guests to mostly speak 🙏🏻
When Alex said the playboy mansion would not exist today, she obviously didn't consider Dan Blizarian...
How interesting would that be if she had him on as a guest lol
Omg so true!!
That guy makes me cringe so hard. He must pay those women *really really well* to get them to hang out with him.
Exactly!! And he even has that one “main” girlfriend. And they are all super young...close to 18. The fact that men look up to him and put him on a pedestal don’t understand how messed up these people are.

Holly was just misunderstood. She seems like a sweet soul.
Not a Call Her Daddy fan but here for the Holly content.
Listened to this on Spotify last week then watched every ep of girls next door and now rewatching the podcast on TH-cam to understand more!!!
Dude I didn’t realize how long this interview was because I was so captivated every second. 10/10 interview

i’m amazed at how open and genuine Holly is wow
Her book was a huge eye opener for me, Especially how they portrayed her as the mean "one" when really kendra was- I really disliked holly on the show until I read her story and then I rewatched GND and you can tell how forced it was. I suggest y'all go get her book/e-book and read along to her voice on audible. Love her 💕
What’s the book called! Is it down the rabbit hole?
@@mkaaaay yes, that’s the one!
I don’t think there was a mean one . 3 different girls, all chose to be there to gain something. Probably all interpreted things differently too.
First time watching this channel and i love how interested the interviewer is in Holly. She asking all the good questions👑✨
I know more about how the host feels about the playboy mansion than I know about how Holly feels
You gotta read her book!
I’m glad Holly was so authentic in this interview. I admired her personality on their show, but I always questioned her loyalty to Hef.
Edit: questioned it as in, “why was she so loyal to Hef as she put in a lot of time to man who didn’t give her marriage or a family.”
She said she wasn’t attracted to anyone else due to a series of reasons
In her book, she writes that she and Bridgette were the only loyal GF’s while Kendra was out cheating. She said at the beginning of the relationship, he was amazing but once she started seeing his bad side, they couldn’t leave because they had no money or place to go. Plus, they felt that they would be shamed for being in a relationship with an older man. She also said Hef made it seem like the other girlfriends were the reasons why he was so upset and taking it out on Holly. Once everyone moved out, she realized he was still the same angry man.
This interviewer does not stop talking.....geeze. Let Holly talk.
So interesting to hear about the behind the scenes of girls next door
