  • If we want to know the actual workings of computers, we have to learn about chipsets in detail and that's what I did in this video.
Before starting the chipset, let's discuss North Bridge and South Bridge.
a Decayed ago, computer motherboards comes with Northbridge and a south bridge, where Northbridge is responsible for handling data coming from Graphics cards and RAM. RAMs slots and Graphics card slots are connected to Northbridge and Northbridge is connected to Processor. The remaining buses of a system like SATA drives, USB ports, and legacy PCI ports are connected to the Southbridge and Southbridge is connected to the Northbridge, as I told you: the south bridge is connected to Processor.
Once you understand that system, let's discuss the working of the system of the Northbridge and the Southbridge. High-performance devices like RAMs and Graphics card communicate with the processor via Northbridge, if Data need to transfer from RAM to the processor, it needs to transfer via Northbridge.
If any data need to transfer from Storage to RAM, first that data goes to the south bridge then to the northbridge then to the RAMs. This system is perfectly fine until we require higher bandwidth. After a certain time, we required more bandwidth and computational power, and for that, we eliminated the concept of the north bridge and south bridge and created a new design where we replaced the North and south bridge with a single Chipset.
In that system RAMs, Graphics cards, and NVME SSDs are directly connected to the processor along with the chipset. SATA ports, USB ports, Remaining secondary PCIe and M.2 ports are connected to the chipset.
If we talk about Intel's Z690 chipset, it comes with DDR5 RAM and PCIe 5.0 support. which are obviously connected to the processor via DIMM slots and PCIe X16 slots. The Primary M.2 port is also connected to the processor directly.
The remaining ports like additional M.2 ports, additional PCIe porta, SATA ports, and USB ports are connected to the chipset and the chipset connected to the processor.
Talking about AMD's X670 chipset, it only supports DDR5 RAMs. So RAM slots, Primary PCIe X16 slot, Primary M.2 slot, 2X USB 4 Port, USB 3.2 Gen 2 Port and 2 X USB 2 ports, VIdeo output port are directly connected to the processor along with x670 chipset. The remaining ports like additional PCIe X16 ports, M.2 Ports, SATA, and Remaining USBs are connected to the X670 chipset.
This is all about Chipset. Please see the video carefully if you have any doubts or ask me in the comment section.

    Buddy please reply!
Koi bhi motherboard same chipset ke sath me cheap and expensive dono aate hain. For example B550 me dekhe to MSI B550M pro vdh bhi aata hain aur ASROCK ka B550 steel legend bhi aata hain jisme ki MSI se zyda ports aate hain pr lanes to dono me equal hain to zyda ports kaise hain....
Please make a video on it if you could....

The chipset can handle a certain number of ports, but it's the brand's choice how many they want to use. They might put fewer ports in cheaper products and more in expensive ones. The main reasons are marketing and cost cutting.

7th viewer, dunno why I was recommended this, I don't speak a word of Hindi! Looks like a decent start at a channel, hope it grows for you, dude. Nice channel name, too. I do know what the Vedas are!
I doubt I'll be back, not speaking Hindi, but nice production values already, hope you do well.

@@tech_veda That's OK! I know India already has quite a lot of tech, and it's a growing market over there, and not every Indian speaks English (though I know many do). And I'm sure many prefer Hindi, given the choice. So you might have a very good idea for a channel. Explaining modern tech to an audience of... what, maybe half a billion?

Basicallyz you say my video and you like the quality as you said.
But the problem is Language barrier for those who don't understand Hindi.
Even lof of South Indians don't understand Hindi.
So, as a viewers perspective please tell me, is it really helpfull if I put English Subtitles?
Or, viewers have multiple choice, so they can choose video of their comfortable language?

@@tech_veda I don't know, I'm really not an expert, I just saw your video recommended and it looked interesting.
Aiming at just the Hindi market is fine, I think, there's 350 million of them! Specialising is good I think on TH-cam, have your own audience that other channels do not serve.
As an English speaker (from England, sorry about the empire!), I think I'd be more likely to just go watch an English channel to get technical information, unless the information was really specialised and not available elsewhere. So again, it's about meeting a particular need that others do not cover.
With subtitles you'd be a lower-quality English tech channel, because people would have to read them. You'd be competing with the whole world. Concentrating on Hindi, you might be one of the best Hindi channels.
It's about getting your own particular audience who stick with you. At least I think so, I'm not an expert.
India is blossoming in tech, if you could be one of the best channels for 1/3 of India's nerds and geeks, that would be more than you need! Are there a lot of other Hindi tech channels? I can just imagine it's something that India would need, and benefit from, and now is the time to do it.
Again I can't comment on what you say in the video, but it looks very good, and you're just starting. You've clearly made a lot of effort. Your motherboard animations are very high quality. I don't understand your speech, but I know how motherboards work, and you seem to be explaining it very clearly, getting the details across but without being confusing. I can tell that based on the animations.
      Remember me when you're famous!

@@tech_veda Just want to say, I thought I would watch a bit more of your video, and ended up watching it the whole way through without realising! I think I figured out the points you were making (though I already know some tech stuff, so that's why). Was actually quite enjoyable watching a man I can't understand, explaining chipsets! I think you come across as friendly, your explanation seems clear and organised, going from what I saw rather than heard. Good luck mate!
