Exploring the Inner Workings of SSDs - 3D NAND - SLC MLC TLC QLC NAND
Welcome to our latest deep dive into the heart of SSD technology! Have you ever wondered what goes on inside those sleek storage drives that power your devices? Join us on a fascinating journey as we peel back the layers and uncover the mysteries of SSDs.
In this video, we'll take a closer look at the intricate construction of an SSD cell and unravel the differences between SLC, MLC, TLC, and QLC NAND flash memory technologies. From the fundamental building blocks to the advanced architectures, we'll break down how each type of cell operates and explore the implications for storage capacity, speed, and endurance.
But our exploration doesn't stop there. We'll delve into the reliability of SSDs, examining crucial factors like Program/Erase (PE) cycles and Total Bytes Written (TBW) to understand how SSDs stand the test of time. Plus, we'll compare the performance of SLC caching to true SLC NAND, shedding light on the nuances that can affect real-world usage scenarios.
And that's not all! We'll uncover the magic behind wear-leveling technology, a key mechanism that ensures even distribution of data writes across the SSD to prolong its lifespan and maintain peak performance over time.
Whether you're a tech enthusiast, a budding storage aficionado, or simply curious about the inner workings of modern computing devices, this video is your ticket to unlocking the secrets of SSDs. Join us on this enlightening journey and gain a deeper appreciation for the technology that powers the digital world. Don't miss out - hit play now and embark on an adventure into the heart of storage innovation!

    • @tech_veda
      @tech_veda 13 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Technically, you can connect a USB to a JCOM port using a USB-to-serial converter. but practically, it’s not the best idea. The JCOM port maxes out at a bandwidth of 14 KB/s, which is painfully slow compared to USB speeds. It’s like comparing a snail to a rocket 🚀 😅

      @tech_veda 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      That TP-Link PCIe Bluetooth and WiFi card can be directly installed into your motherboard’s PCIe X1 slot (the smallest PCIe slot). No need for any external power connection, the card draws all the power it needs straight from the PCIe slot itself!

      @tech_veda 12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      It looks like both USB headers on your motherboard are already in use, and you’re looking for an additional one to connect the adapter. I’d recommend using a USB splitter instead of JCOM, as it will provide better bandwidth and power. Using JCOM for power or data isn’t the best idea, especially for something like the AX 1800 adapter.

      3 M.2 SSD to lag jayegi. 1 main SSD Max bandwidth par work karegi, and 2 SSDs, Sound card and Capture card will share bandwidth. If those cards are connected via chipset, 16 Lanes will remain for the Graphics card. Although I'm not 100% sure about that as I haven't used any AM5 boards personally yet. Please do your own research before making purchases 🙂

      The chipset can handle a certain number of ports, but it's the brand's choice how many they want to use. They might put fewer ports in cheaper products and more in expensive ones. The main reasons are marketing and cost cutting.

      Good Laptop hain. Highly rated by public too. But the thing is you are mainly paying for Display. This laptop is good for Video editing kind og stuffs, but not good for 3D related work, as it don't have dedicated graphics Card. So you must be aware about what kind of performance you should expect. If you want to do 3D related work, or may be Gaming, you can consider buying laptop with dedicated GPU. Otherwise this laptop is good.

      Namaste Ji! Toh aapke motherboard me aapne already ek Graphics Card laga rakha hain. Aapke motherboard me ek single PCIe X16 slot hain jisme already Graphics Card laga hain. And 2 ports hain jo ki PCIe X1 hain. L Aap exactly kya karna chah rahe hain? Kya aap Graphics card nikal kar M.2 to PCIe card lagana chahate hain? Taki aap usme ek M.2 NVME SSD use kar pao as a Boot Drive?

      Aapko agar existing SSD me speed kam mil rahi hain toh make sure at least 20 to 30 GB Free Space ho, otherwise aapka system slow work karega. Second thing, aapke motherboard me ek PCIe X16 Slot hain jisme aapne already ek Graphics Card laga rakha hain. And doosra port hain PCIe X1 Gen 2 Jiski maximum bandwidth hain: 500 MBps. Aap NVME SSD laga kar bhi uska poora faida nahi le paoge agar aapko speed hi hona. But definitely aap koi M.2 to PCIe adapter use karke Apna motherboard ke chote port PCIe X1 me laga paoge. Conclusion: Most probably aapki 120GB SSD me space kam hone ke Karan aapko speed kam mil rahi hain. Use fix kar lo toh paise save kar paoge. Unwanted Programs uninstall kar do, ya fir Task Manager me jakar Startup program me jaye aur unwanted program ka startup disable kar de. Inhe follow kar ke speed me improvements dekh sakte ho.

    Which is faster... 2.5" SATA SSD or M.2 2242 SSD?

      Both are the different form factor of SSDs. Before answering your actual question let's understand different types of m.2 SSDs. Tyere are two types of m.2 SSD: M.2 NVME (Have single cut on Connector and have much faster transfer speeds) Second type is: M.2 SATA (Have double cut on Connector and looks same as NVME. Speeds are same as 2.5 Inch SATA SSD. M.2 Comes in different form factor. M.2 2242 is small form factor in length. So, if you are asking me 2.5" SATA vs M.2 2242 SATA. Then both SSDs perform Simillar, as tyere is no difference in Protocol. Just a different shape. And if you are asking 2.5" SATA vs M.2 2242 NVME, then NVME is much faster. If you still have some confusion please refer this video for detailed technical knowledge: th-cam.com/video/cD4gpFVPOWk/w-d-xo.html
