I went to watch the movie. Michael Keaton was awesome as batman, as i knew he would. I didn't care about any other character. Also it was nice to see Nicolas Cage as Superman since i know his Superman movie got canceled back then.
I actually didn’t mind Batman forever, yeah it’s not great..maybe it’s just nostalgia..yeah ok maybe it sucks 😂. I didn’t mind val Kilmer as Batman though I will say that.
@adamjones8503 I had that movie on vhs as a kid and i watched that all the time. After i got internet on 2013 i was surprised of all the critics of it. It doesn't bother me. I had a blast watching that.
@@Eric-js9gw Yeah 100% I liked it as a kid, then like you..I saw everyone saying how shit it was and was a bit shocked. Then again, we all like different things, I really enjoyed Robert Pattinsons Batman to be honest.
One thing I think we can all agree on is that Batman & Robin was absolute trash.

@@Calvictus360 that was at the peak of Jim Carrey's physical comedy phase. It would have been awesome to see him portray a dark Burton-esque Edward Nygma! I don't think audiences were ready to accept him in that role if it were dark. His fans weren't ready for Cable Guy and that was a great movie!

WB wanted the movies more kid friendly so we got served up a couple plates of hot garbage. Forever is still kind of watchable but that fourth film almost killed the entire franchise.

Mask of the Phantasm was released the same year as Forever. Imagine a cartoon being more mature, and overall a better movie than a live action version. That happened.

Title correction: he did not "abandon" Batman Forever, since he never was in it in the first place, he *refused* or *rejected* Batman Forever which is different. "Abandoning" implies that he was in it as some point.

His loyalty to Tim was real.. Even during the flash he asked Tim for permission. Mike has tons of respect for Tim, because without Tim! They would have never created the iconic movies. Michael keton is Batman, then , now, and forever. They will never be a better actor to dawn the suit. Every batman made after was 🗑️. Flash was awesome to see, because of Mike. He was fantastic to see back on the big screen.

I love Batman Forever and Kilmer in it. But I would love it even more with Keaton in it.
I also wish Tim Burton had done his Batman 3. Robin Williams was his set choice to be the Riddler. While Jim Carrey was great, I for one would have loved to see Robin Williams in a superhero movie.

Hmm 🤔, as it turns out Michael Keaton may have easily signed on if Tim Burton stayed on board, at least as director and the script would not have been rewritten. But I still don’t get why Burton stepped down from directing and was replaced by Joel Schumacher, who killed the franchise off with release of Batman and Robin two years after Batman: Forever.
We also lost the chance to see Billy De Williams as Two Face and Robin Williams as The Riddler

In my opinion the ONLY two good things about the third movie were Michael Gough still portraying Alfread Pennyworth, and Tommy Lee Jones portraying Two-Face.
Don't get me wrong I'd have still preferred to see Billy Dee Williams portrayal of Two-Face, or barring that see Tommy Lee Jones portrayal with the darker feel and tones of the first two films.

89 is a classic, I remember watching Forever in the theater and nostalgia has me loving it more than most although I see the flaws, return was weird. Didn't like it as a kid and now I watch it as a Christmas movie but it never did it for me and Robin was dog shit. A fun drinking game especially with non Batman fans but atleast it was so bad it gave us my favorite trilogy of all time The DKT. Which my order is DK, BB, DKR but I rate them A++, A+,A.
Even DC comics see his version as separate from kilmar/Clooney with the batman 89 comics. Batman forever is ok but it's soundtrack saves it
