I TOTALLY 100% disagree with your opinion, THE 14400f has not got an UPGRADE path, the platform alone is worth the difference. you NEED TO BE MORE THOUGHFUL ON YOUR VIEWS. ALSO TREAT NVIDIA THE SAME
Bit disappointing that the specs don't show the seat height (actually been looking for a 12hr shit work chair for months now). Bigups to anyone who owns and can confirm seat is able to reach 48-58cm (19-23" in freedom units ^^)

What's even worse is that 7800x3d in the UK is at 319 so the 8700f is only 40 cheaper
AMD killing its own product by having a better product... Hey, still better than Bulldozer 😅
The 7800x3d is literally listed on amazon for $280 right now.
EDIT: $278. So a couple dollars cheaper lol.
$40 is a lot for most people no?
@@wfb.subtraktor311 phenom III x8 would have been goated
@@terrycruise-zd5tw not really, at that range is not much, specially because you get the fastest cpu in the world for 40 more.
In Germany the 8700F is 282,-€ and the 7700X (yes, with X) is 289,-€, only 7,-€ more expensive. For that you get faster clocks, double the L3 cache, PCIe 5.0, ECC support (real ECC, not on-die DDR5 ECC), and rather ironically you get an iGPU useful for troubleshooting. Oh and the 7800X3D is only 50,-€ more expensive than that. What a useless product.
The 7600 is actually a few euros cheaper than the 8400F.
Alternate has the 7800X3D for 309€ rn (with sponsored link by KreativEcke), means its not even 30€ between the 8700F and the best gaming cpu on earth lol
What about the R7 7700?
The 7700X is just a scam you're paying EXTRA for them to take away your box cooler.
@@BonusCrook prices droped a bit the last few days. The boxed 7700X is only 6€ more expensive than the boxed 7700 (265€ vs 259€) here in germany but actually you can get the tray version of the 7700 for 227€ which is a decent amount cheaper so might be worth it. (Honestly 265€ is still expensive for the 7700X when you get 20% more performance (and more efficiency too) for 17% more money with the 7800X3D.)
@@BonusCrook Sure, I was just trying to find the "worst" case scenario price-wise.
AMD Marketing team eating glue again.
AMD Marketing team is probably the biggest anchor for the company. They are effing up so much for AMD with seemingly every release its unreal.
AMD is the biggest enemy of AMD, they miss every marketing opportunity,
Except that pricing isn't set by marketing. This is just pure greed trying to charge a premium price for the shit they pulled out of the garbage. AMD is it's own biggest fanboy that thinks they can act like Apple.
AMD never fails to miss an open dunk.
They were listening TH-camrs for a while so things were smooth(-ish) but now they already got lost.

Video Failure and that's not new...
The thing that pisses me off is that they changed it to F
G = Graphics
X = No IGP
X3D = 3D cache
XT = Up to date
Why F? Why copy intel, and especially given the fact that theres already a 8700F.
This has to be the worst CPU line since fucking Phenome, honestly. The 4500 and 4100 are atleast well priced, though again, marketing sucked. The 5600X is great, just not with price, and thats the closest we have had to this level of tardy-ness.
X doesn't mean no iGP, it means "give us more money for practically nothing in return".
Examples:
7600 vs 7600x
5600 vs 5600x
3600 vs 3600x
1700 vs 1700x
2700 vs 2700x
F is good but its being used in a dumbass series of CPUs. It should just mean no igu which it does so it's fine.
Also XT has nothing to do with being up to date it was the ryzen 3000XT line which had noticeably better silicon quality.
Methinks they used Ryzen AI to generate their marketing slides.
I have a full AMD system... but the AMD meme of the wizard eating glue is pretty accurate.
What the hell is that?
RTX upscaling in Firefox is kinda broken. It doesn't seem to work in the default youtube view. It will work in theater and fullscreen mode, but I can only get it to work when YT is set to 480p and 720p.
3:40 they seriously added the L2 and L3 cache together to try make it sound more impressive. 😢
They ate the whole glue factory
And it's base and boost clocks are lower than the 8700g.
I give up.
Amd gets handed a easy win and fumbles it every time. It's like they decided to hire intells played off marketing team
I have Firefox 126 and no HDR on YT. Is this just for Nvidia HDR conversion? How about the actual thing?
The upscaling only works in fullscreen mode in Firefox for some reason. You'll notice it's active for a few seconds after leaving full screen. *Edit - This got me thinking about theater mode in YT, and I just tested it and it works. I have no idea why it won't just work for regular mode.
Great analysis on the APU chips.
Idk how often it drops this low, but the 7800x3D is going for 279$ rn on amazon making this just terrible pricing
7800X3D for 309€ and 8700F for 282€ in germany, nice AMD!
😆
Where? I only saw it for 330.
i also would like to know where you can buy a 7800X3D for 309€ the cheapest i saw was 339€

The F series APUs are the most bizare processors i have seen in a long time.
I understand why they're doing it. But they should really be priced under the Ryzen 7000 series.
Feels like the usual AMD setting launch prices way too high and then having to use heavy discounts soon after launch screwing over retailers.
Why did they skip 4K and 6K series?
They were laptop architectures, the 4000 series was later brought to desktop.
Bad advertising on behalf of AMD
AMD has done this since they no longer needed to kiss the consumers butt anymore. Once AMD stock was worth something again with the launch of Ryzen. The attitude of the company did a 180 and gave the finger to consumers. The people that made them successful today. A company with +1 Billion and not -1 billion.
Who knew.
This is why fanboying is just pointless.
As soon as either of the big players have a whatever slight edge, they'll decide to mislead customers to make a few more sales or increase profit. Intel, AMD, NVIDIA they all do it.
It's because the people in key positions & their external consultants tend to be the same type of locusts that casually go from one to the other company every few years.
Well , the 8700F is a 45 -65 W CPU , because it has no IGP you surely can use the 45 W TDP , perfect for a mini PC with discrete Graphics . The 14400F has 65 W TDP as Base as well if limited b u t can use up to 148 Watts in Turbo mode.
Mindfactory offers the 8700f as tray Version for 220,79 ( 19 % VAT included ) = 185,62 without VAT = ~ 200 US Dollar ( May 24th 2024 )
12:30 Immediately stopped watching the video on Chrome and switched to Firefox. Not sure if Firefox is actually better than Chrome but I've used it since 2005 and only started using chrome to watch streaming video in HDR, now I can continue to resist change.
If you wanna get rid of that extra bit of green screen you might try moving it a little further back, or lighting it separately.
Yo so I got the 7800x3d earlier on Amazon for 320 dollars. It had thermal paste on it still so I cleaned it but in the process used a broken in half bamboo toothpick to get under the ihs. I think it lightly scratched the side of a die. I don’t have a pc ready to test it. Is it damaged? I can’t really tell when shining a light on it.
They should of sold them for 100-125 for a good starting cpu for beginner builds, That would of been a great deal. SSD,RAM,CPU prices going up.
Wait 3 months and the price will be there!
50% discount sounds so good!
😂

The 8700F only has 16 usable PCIE-Lanes, whereas the 7700 has 24 usable PCIE-Lanes. This means the 8700F connects your graphic card only with 8 PCIE 4.0 Lanes (!) the 7700 with 16 PCIE 5.0 Lanes.
you got no idea what you are talking.
DP 2.1 UHBR20 most certainly matters because monitors stay in use far longer than most other components.
if Nvidia fixed their drivers then UHBR20 wouldn't matter. DSC is basically unnoticeable and the only real problems people have with DSC is because Nvidia doesn't handle it properly so people can't use in conjunction with DSR and other things.
QD-OLEDs might not be as resilient as a good IPS

The “F” stands for fleecing the customer.
the WCCFTech article got it wrong, the 8700F and 8400F aren't APUs. But yeah... it was going to happen sooner or later as AMD is a profit driven company answerable to shareholders... Intel would have done the same if they were in AMD's position which doesn't make this whole mess any better either. The only reason Intel has to cut prices to the bare bones is to remain competitive, price is the only lever they only have at the moment.

LuDaShi in AMD official AD LMAO
i got a 7600x and a 7900xtx and its overkill for a casual like me 🤷♂️
So this is like the 5500, 5700 all over again while they didn’t do that with the 5600
i get, that they have some cpus without igpu over from the 8000series but the name is fully missleading. They should ve called it GF or something, otherwise you dont really notice that it was a cpu with a decent Igpu but which got disabled since their normal lineup (7000series) also has igpus but not that powerful.
8700F is comparable to 7600(X) which is available for ~200€/$.
Or you can get 7500f for cca €120-150, get full cache and sacrifice that basic 2cu iGPU and maybe 5% of performance for a decent discount.
I'm still rocking my ryzen 5600x. Honestly, I have zero reason to upgrade to the am5 at the moment.
I’m keeping my 5800x and rtx3080
ok to compare gpu at dif prices but not cpus?
Entire phoenix disappoint me a lot.
- iGPU is good, but not impressive. ALSO APUs have their issues (PCI-E 4.0x8, less amount of L3 cache)
- pricing. I really don't want to pay more for iGPU because of other specs up aheah
So as for 8000F processors - they should cost less than Raphael.
they probably gonna cut the price pretty fast but try to pull some profit of people that dont know better before that
Yep really shows how skilled and deserving higher ups actually are when they continually make these absolutely braindead pricing decusions for their products
the bench marks will be interesting ahahhaaha, all youre getting is efficiency from 4nm and AI.
Lol not even AI ironically, the Ryzen 8000 non F series is the one that has great AI support since it contain RDNA3 igpu which has Matrix accelerator unlike these igpu less Ryzen 8000F series since currently the XDNA NPU is only useful for small worthless mundane tasks
What if AMD was called FreakMD and instead of making tech theyre rizzing gyatts

I would love a total war star wars game.
Can't wait to see Legend of Total War waste a whole bot armies ammo by jiggling a gungam hero back and forth.
Honestly CA needs to do some serious work on their ranged units before Starwars, WW1 & even 40k. Line of sight issues, no 'ignore friendlies' toggle and they need to stop squish ranged units from yeeting themselves through your frontline into melee once the run out of ammo. Then there is AI just turning ranged formations into blobs that can't fire (or just all die to their own artillery) when facing tanky single entities...
@@adriankoch964 The different aspects each faction could have would be great. but ya they need to work on the ranged stuff. I usually micro my ranged guys a lot more so when they do stupid stuff i can quickly stop them.

Apparently there is a file in ghosts of tshuima for fsr 3.1 so perhaps they are just getting ready for it
Chill, these CPU's always come down fast in price, just don't want to nuke the sales of the CPU's near them in the product stack. What was the Intel's CPU's price at launch?
I was literally seeing an AMD post on instagram when i got the notification 😮
rx 7000 series is required for ryzen AI to work...go figure ...so my 7900x with 7900xtx made ai lot better in my setup when it only works on GPU with ai cores but my bro have 4080 super is very superior than any ai cores from amd and apple....WHO BUY THESE JUNKS FROM AMD ??? Worse. Less pcie lane only workable gpu is 4060 or lower. Less cache.
Ye, i was just looking into 8700G/F and 7700 and came to the conclusion that 7700 is better value. :v
Seems like Ryzen 4000
They are good at recycling. Look how well they recycled all that 18gbps gddr6 when they didnt get any laptop gpu contracts. They released the 7600 xt and the 7900 Going Recycled Edition. Smart business moves, better than letting stuff go to waste.
The 7900 GRE is actually a decent deal, in Canada anyways, it's almost 300$ cheaper then the 7900XT, and it's only a little slower.
@@AluminumHaste I'm not saying it's a bad deal. It's fine for a raster only GPU. I'm just saying it's a Frankenstein of leftover parts.
Raster goes a long way for a GPU’s lifecycle aside from VRAM but I understand your point nevertheless. The 7700 XT should’ve been like $350 - $400, 7800 XT $450, GRE $500.
Why tf would anybody buy 8700F when 7700 with double the amount of cache is similar price ? F is for Failure lol
Because many consumers merely think "higher number" = "better" and don't move away from that. Even here and in other tech channels I saw and argued with several people who said that a gtx 1650 is stronger than a gtx 1080 because 1650 is a higher number than 1080... and I have a friend that, when he had a 1080ti, was jealous of another friend that had a 2060...
does that friend have a discord, ill give him my 2060 for his 1080ti
Are we not sure the price was a misprint for $200 as that what it's really worth. 7600x would be better than this for gaming and much cheaper with a working Igpu as well.
I really like AMDs marketing. They already telling us to buy these products later when they cut prices and realized they Fd up, AGAIN..
i can only speak for myself but if the multiplayer had not needed PSN, and had sony not tried to pull what did they i would have gotten GOT and so would 2 of my friends
Disappoint at AMD since the expensive APU and without GPU's APU released
At this point, it’s AML
8000f series only has x8 lane for the gpu. Becareful.
Wait, wait, wait the 8700F and 8400F is referred to as APUs in the WCCFTech Article.... but only CPUs with integrated Graphics are called APUs by AMD?? Edit: Lookng at the facts here and it appears the price differential is due to the new node being used. I don't think AMD is willing to squeeze the retailers any more than they already are - I do think they should have dropped the price for 7000 series for at least 2 months before they launched the 8000 series so the pricing at least makes some sort of sense for the average laymen. Edit 2: Adding my initial reaction - Looks like AMD's marketing has started smoking whatever Intel has been smoking for awhile now - 9:50 that slide is very deliberately misleading as that GPU element does not exist for the 8700F. Also the 8700F has the new swanky "AI" engine so that'd explain the premium abit there as the 8400F is priced reasonably.
DANKE JÜRGEN 😢
You're focusing on just the cache which is important, but also the PCIe expansion is also heavily lacking. Reduces potential upgrades/expandability a lot.
To be honest PCI-E Gen 4 is more than enough, I have run 3x Gen4 NVMEs and the heat clustered in one area is too much especially they are below the GPU. It gets so bad using the motherboard heatsink is not an option as using it causes stability issues. Even with with seperate double sided heatsinks, is still not enough when gaming, I've had to reduce them down to Gen x3. I have a High Airflow case H500M with whopping 2x 200mm Fans on the front. Gen 5 is going to be an absolute nightmare to cool. Ergo why all Gen5 NVME slots have huge heatsinks. I wouldn't be surprised if next few gens the top NVME only does Gen 5 and Gen 6 and rest of the NVMEs do Gen 4. As the entire motherboard layout will need to be redesigned. Either that the entire case industry starts putting the motherboard trays in the middle of the cases to allow active cooling of the underside of motherboards.
What game(s) do you play?

amd got so big they made their cpus more expensive with barely any change, just turning into intel now
People will complain that Sony game are region lock by PSN. Who in botswana or Congo play that stuff? 90% of the market is in the west where PSN works.
I think Ghost of Tsushima is hacking the ground work ready to support FSR 3.1. Hoping AMD closes the gap with nVIDIA...
5900x for $260?
21% cheaper.
Slightly better single-core effective value.
Moderately better average multithreading performance, around +20%.
+4 more cores.
+8 more threads.
+48 MB L3 Cache.
AI has been around from 2009 you have not used it since social media made it popular so whoosh.
5900x has 2 chiplets means you have 2 32MB. So this Cache comparison is a bit missleading.
But anyways, a better comparison: in germany currently you pay 27€ more and you get the 7800X3D instead of the 7800F. Lmao
@@AlienGurke never thought of it like that. Makes sense now
4K 240Hz?
Can a 4090 even manage that?
With DLSS Performance maybe.
Ghost of Tsushima's current player count only compares to Helldivers 2 because Sony made people in countries totaling ~500 million people refund the game as Sony suddenly theratened to lock them out of their (in local buying power) very expensive game on short notice.
This really damaged the hype for the game & poisoned the well.
About the F CPUs, pricing wise, it is simply their launch MSRP price and they probably want it to align with their other Zen4 CPU pricing so it doesn't disturb the current pricing structure. I wouldn't be surprised if it is going to be discounted soon enough. From company perspective it is better to offer discount instead of lowering the launch MSRP. FYI, the current pricing for 7700 in my country (with tax etc) is around $360 and 8700F is $320. 7600 is $226, 7500F is $193, 8500G is $210 and 8400F is $206.
I do agree that AMD shouldn't compare 8700F with 14400F since it is not anywhere near in the same price class even without discounted price.
For me, instead of 8700F I would just buy 8600G. It has less core, but cheaper and with 8CU GPU. If I just want a CPU for gaming then I would just buy 7600 or even 7500F. If I'm in the market for 8core Zen4 CPU for whatever reason, if the budget is not tight, I would buy 7700 instead. Only if I want 8core Zen4 and the budget is tight or I really want to play around with the NPU while also having an 8core CPU, then 8700F does make sense.
As for 8400F I don't see why it should exist at that price point. For a bit more money, might as well buy 8500G or 7500F.
You just know T2/Rockstar will release a barely functional no effort port of Red Dead a year after it's already been available on consoles.

Almost everything promoted by youtubers is just complete bullshit and you can buy similar or better things for less. It’s just marketing.
They need to sell all 7000 series faster 😀
Looks like the 8700 F is dead on arrival
Its the naming that pisses me off they make it so stupid and confusing to the non enthusiast who is interested in building their first PC.
And they will assume the 8700F is a higher series when its not. So is it a 7700 binned silicone with faster clocks but cut back cache ???
Pricing weirdly scales in my country tho, 8700F for $291 ish and 7700 for $331 ish.
But yeah I don't think that severe cut down in cache isn't worth the savings.
Does the F mean fail?
This thing costs about as much as the 7800x3d and is so much worse lmfao
I am a huge supporter of AMD chips over intel in almost every way except this one. I hate when they drop the apu to a cpu leaving ignorant buyers to think series numbers increase in line with performance. 1 of my sons came home with a 4500 when he had an option to get a 3600X. Yes the 3600x was used but had a warranty and we promptly went for a refund. The seller tried selling my son on faster clock and performs better than a 3600 with faster memory etc. It was truth that was pure nonsense. The difference is the 4500 released at a brilliant entry price but still not better for a gamers needs than a 3600x.
This situation with the 8400 and 8700 is just more amd marketing fails. Both would be brilliant entry chips for many people if the prices were £130 and £180.
Atm for microcenter. You can get the 7700x with the bundle msi mobo, gskill ram. For like 400 in all
The f skew only makes sense as ultra budget versions. You get no IGPU and reduced cache hurting dgpu performance. These are not for gaming.
AMD said F it, can't sell Gpu's lets dump the cpu's to.
I mean this thing have been going for ages, remember 2200g and 2400g is zen arc and 3200g 3400g is only zen+ arc.

German outlet Computerbase has looked at the FSR implementation in GoT and it looks way better than FSR ever has, especially at lower resolutions like 1080p, so it's VERY likely that it's a preview version of 3.1~
The 1st confirmed FSR 3.1 title has been Ratchet & Clank, which is ported to PC by Nixxes... so the same studio that ported GoT now. Coincidences, ladies & gentlemen!
It's like when AMD mocked Nvidia and their 4090 for its power draw and heat.. the day before the 7900 XTX was released with enormous power draw and heat.
Yes 355watt gpu is crazy ....if you ignore 4080 and 4090 gpu. At least you could power a 4070 with the energy saved by runing a amd cpu
I do not like 16MB L3 AM5.
Hi Daniel, you are right, these chips are really APU chips, but with the GPU stripped out. Should be very cheap, but at that price, no thanks...
The 8000F series is terrible value... Better buy a Ryzen 7 7700 which has a boost clock of 5.3GHz!!!
I bought a new 7700 tray (without cooler) one for only €176,-
AMD has generally been offering great products with equally good advertisement for a while, but I guess it can't be great all the time. They've done this kind of almost deceptive plays before. Guess you can't just expect them to do the right thing all the time. Think of the money, and all that.
How about that, literally just bought the R7 7700.
Also, still using the hand me down office chair I got from my aunt 15 years ago. Think she used it 10 years before that, if not more.
8700F should be a $199 CPU. The 8400F @ $149. We should see a price adjustment within the next month, or two. But people are also forgetting about the 7500F with 32mb L3, 3.7 base.
this difference you will have with 4090, another cheapest GPU will give you NO difference
