    Thank you for the excellent video. Last year I searched videos for a simple explanation on how to winterize my motor, and they all left so many gaps that they didn't make sense. Yours was just right!! Good job.

    Thank you very much for this excellent video. I have a 2009 Yamaha F60TLRH on my 20' pontoon boat. It runs superbly but has one very annoying problem that I have been unable to correct.
    When cold the engine never starts on the first turn of the key which I can live with but don't like especially when my neighbour's engines always start on the first turn of the key.
    When it does start it goes into a fast idle mode which is not acceptable. The only way I can cure this is to turn off the engine and refire the ignition. In almost every case this cures the problem but that still shouldn't have to be done. I have replaced the Idle Air Control Valve but unfortunately that did not cure the problem.
    What else could be causing this problem?

    There is a plastic fitting made to screw into the drain plug with a clear plastic hose I use on my Yamaha. I tilt my motor all the way up an pull drain plug. I screw in plastic fitting and slip on hose. I put the hose in an empty old windshield washer bottle. Then trim motor down and it drains in to bottle. Seal bottle. Nice and clean.

      No sir. The top on the motor was the 10-30 motor oil that i changed with the filter. The bottom is 80-90 gear oil that goes in the screw. They are not connected at all.

    this is very helpful, one question - you lost me when you were using your pumping unit on the lower unit. After you removed to the two screws and drained the lower unit, is the pumping unit adding oil (80-90 gear oil?) or just helping to push oil out through the top screw of the bottom unit ? and what is the pumping unit, just a handheld pump? thanks

    • @Schneids15
      @Schneids15  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey! Yes it is a “gear lube pump”. It fills from the bottom up. Fill until it starts coming out top hole, put in the top plug and then the bottom and you are good to go.

    Yo. Could you explane if you want to use fogging oil. Where to spray it when engine is running? Guess its to air inlet. Umm about oil what you use, is there some important diffrence if you use semi synt, full synt or mineral oil?

      Just spray into cylinders. No fogging through intake as it damages the injectors. You can use whatever you prefer as long as it is FCW certified.

    one question ...I've been recommended to Fog the motor.
    We have 175 Yamaha
    Could we get away with out fogging our motor?
    Thanks

    • @Schneids15
      @Schneids15  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. Fogging is a method that was once very popular. We do not fog any engines that are fuel injected due to possible damage of fuel injectors. I would not worry about it if it was my engine. Everyone will argue though. One new method people use it putting a mixture of 2 cycle oil in the fuel bowl and running it until the engine smokes and then shut it off.
      So the answer to your question is yes you could get away with it. There has been motors that have sat for 20 years without a fog and been alright. Just my 2 cents from experience. Josh
