@@jasonnoble7302 Many people want to say, because we all have our own perceptions, there can't be right and wrong. But, then they live as if there is right and wrong. They can't live out what they say they believe, ie. because I perceive the tree is there, I'll go around it. They live as if their perception is right, as if there is absolute Truth.
You said, "I don't see it." The Bible was written especially for those who have ears to hear. Meaning for those who are seeking, and can understand It. It seems like the conversation of the man in the gray t shirt, led from perception to self-centeredness, to trust in oneself as a better choice. This leads to what I believe is mankind's problem, sin. The main sins I believe, are pride, and rebellion against God. And when we believe we have a better Truth than God, we have moved into pride, thinking if ourselves more highly than we should. And rebellion, looking for a replacement for God, perhaps from hatred, and bitterness. Many people want to falsely blame God. We all have consciences, and we want them to be clear. When we try to clear them ourselves, we fail, ultimately, as everyone falls short of perfection. Jesus offers a clear conscience, because He took our punishment upon Himself upon the cross, when He said "It is Finished", He was saying, the debt has been paid. So, when we repent, and put our trust in Jesus, then we have a clear conscience, because Jesus' substitutionary attonement covered over our sins. Jesus was perfect, so only His blood, that was pure could pay the price for mankind. This is good news. However, without Jesus, people are still in their sins. I suggest anyone learn about Jesus from the source documents from the Gospels, from the best selling Book of all time. God loves you. Sin separates us from God. Jesus saves us, will you trust in Him?

Are you saying it’s impossible for objective values and truths to exist without the Christian God ?

    • @scottm4042
      @scottm4042 ปีที่แล้ว +2

@@jasonnoble7302 You bring up two different issues. First, I would say objective values require a Mind behind it. If there is no Mind that created the values, people have no One to be accountable to. And morals become meaningless. Whatever a person believes today, tomorrow they could believe the complete opposite, and not be wrong. Meaningless.
The second issue is which God. And I believe the evidence point to the God of the Bible as being the True God. Truth is exclusive. Whatever is not true, is untrue. And the evidence, not proof, points to Jesus sinless life, amazing teachings, forgiveness in death, and His resurrection as evidence for His Truth, and Reliability. You are free to offer a better option, with more evidence. Any other options I have seen, lack good support. I think the other options show a line of rebellion. From people trying to say God doesn't exist, to trying to make everything God. To outright witchcraft, etc. There are only about five major religions that have ancient texts, and all of the other ones fall short. Is there one you are considering?

@@trumpbellend6717 I don't understand your points here to be honest. No other Gods before me. God is saying I am the only God. I created you in my own image and there is no other Gods before me.
Idols, yes ppl idol worship. Celebrities, sport stars, your phone, money etc. This is not good. This is what is God is saying.
Murder. Obviously murder is bad. Some may argue murdering a certain group is good. But our morality we know all murdering someone is wrong. Whoever is committing murder is doing wrong. They are obviously not following Christian values. They are committing sin.
If I lust for someone without the intentions of marriage or am married and lust for someone who isn't my wife I am committing a sin. And if I act on this lust without having good intentions for example a one night stand. I am using my sexuality for my own pleasure. This is a sin.
Keeping up with the Jones's can create greed. You're always trying to out do your neighbor. This is not good. It leads to envy and greed. And then can lead to violence and prosecution.
The Bible states God is fair and just. We will all be judged fairly. And it states God loves you because he created you but if you wish to live a life without him he will respect that and when your time in this world ends he will respect your wishes, and live away from God.

The *FIRST* AMMENDMENT makes it perfectly clear that freedom to worship ANY or NO "God" is regarded as vital and is in direct conflict with the first commandment. So perhaps you could clarify for us all now, *should we have the freedom to worship any God or should we kill those that follow any God other than Yahweh* ??? 🤔

      ....................
When I read this I don't not see wise words from a "holy"perfect omnibenevolent being. Rather the instruction ( or commandment ) from an insecure "jealous" imperfect being that we, "love him or else." This loving someone whom you also fear is the very essence and definition of sadomasochism.🤮🤮 Yarweh feels it appropriate to threaten not just those that disagree but also their decendants, something that appears both immoral and irrational to me. Fortunately todays modern more enlightened justice systems see the folly in such rational.
_"no images of ANYTHING in heaven or on earth"_ so no sistine chapel ceiling then ? 🤔 indeed no art of any kind ? No photos or videos ect for fear of upsetting a jealous invisible being. Let me ask you do you yourself follow these instructions to the letter ? are those that don't, really committing a "SIN " ? Is this a sin "worthy of death" ? Is that uncomfortable ?

😁 Greetings family! It's not hard to believe in God and to read, study and meditate on the holy bible. It's not even hard to obey all 27 books of the new testament maybe except for one, two, even three commandments. First one being not to lie especially to protect your own or anothers life, second one being giving to those who ask of of us and to not ask for our things back if someone takes it (Luke 6:30) and third selling what we have and giving to the poor (Luke 12:33). I'll even add a fourth one which is to let God do the vengeance. I don't know if a Christian can practice self-defense as I do not see anyone in the new testament actually doing that and they had power from the Holy Spirit of YAH instead they accepted pain and death. I know we can't punish outsiders of the church as that's God's job (1 Corinthians 5)
luckily for me I gave up everything for the new covenant with God Yah's help!

Luke 18:21 And he said, All these have I kept from my youth up.
Luke 18:22 Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.

As an elder Brother in Christ, please allow me to explain the Holy Scriptures a bit. Jesus Christ lived a perfect life, never committing a sin. So, as the Son of God, he has left us a perfect pattern to follow.
1John 2:1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.
1John 2:2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.
1John 2:3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments.
1John 2:4 Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him,
1John 2:5 but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him:
1John 2:6 whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
1John 2:7 Beloved, I am writing you no new commandment, but an old commandment that you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word that you have heard.
So we see that if we love Jesus, we will keep his commandments, and do as he did. That includes, at the minimum, all 10 Commandments, including the 7th day Sabbath commandment that most churches today wish to forget.
The Holy Spirit is writing, through John, that this is not a new commandment, but the old commandment. In other words, the old Commandments are not done away, just set in a new light with the perfect keeping of them by Jesus Christ. So we are to keep the Commandments not just in the letter, but in the Spirit.
Do you believe that is biblical?

"We form tribes and naturally associate with each other."
    *
Uh-huh, and all those tribes lived in perfect peace and harmony among themselves all the time and never fought other tribes....
    *
The folks who assert that people naturally get together and work out life's big issues forget (or choose to ignore) that for the 8,000 years of recorded human history we've been at war among ourselves. Children against parents, the poor vs the rich, the minority vs the majority, city state against city state, Nation A vs Nation B. Even today, most people exist in a state of conflict with anyone they perceive as "outsiders." Even when we do work together, it's rarely out of sheer altruism and self-sacrifice: usually it's to obtain security, property, and goodies for ourselves. Think trade agreements, military alliances, etc.
    *
Cliff and Stuart are 100% correct that ONLY Christianity shows us a God who self-sacrifices himself on our behalf. Every other religion the god/gods live apart from humanity and demand tributes and appeasements.
