it's way easier and faster this way - setting up forward base with 15 Fog bases around is not easy at this tech level. It took just 25 minutes to clear whole planet with barely any resource investment and i only had to reload twice, with both cases being totally avoidable (this was filmed after about 20 min of practice).

Why don't you use signal towers with turrets?
