My most magical memory on motorbike is from Transalpina. I had a fog in that dense forest with visibility maybe 20m. It was like in fairytale. Thanks for reminding me that ;-)
I was born in Romania and for the last 15 years I am living in USA.I am riding a KTM 1190 in the last yeas and I hope one day I will be on Transalpina and Transfagarasan ... this is my dream. RIDE SAFE Pavlin and a BIG THANK YOU !!!
Absolutely beautiful... The villages are lovely, the forest so lush and green and peaceful, the mountains are stunning and look awesome with the cloud cover.. So very nice...
Thank you for bringing back nice memories of my motorbike trip to Romania, which has great potential for motorbike adventurers. Wonderful country with wonderful people who still enjoy rural life and pristine nature.
Thank you for bringing back my memories from 2016 on XT660R :). Transfagarasan for eyes, but Transalpina for eyes and soul too. I was lucky with weather. I am remembering those few very steep switchbacks on Transalpina, where I was praying to be not forced by traffic to stop because my foots will not reach the ground :). Wonderfull.
Hi Pavlin! Thank you for your ride on Transalpina and for sharing with us the beauty of this amazing place! You were at the highest level doing that. It is one of my favourites and wonderful mountains circuit from my country! Stay safe and I wish you to achieve many more other brilliant motorcycle rides in Europe! You have done a great job! Love it! Thanks a lot relentless rider!
Ahh, what a ride, breath taking. Very natural nature, jungle, meadows, foggy weather, top of pass and your Yamaha Tenerie hiking n hiking endlessly on all. Thanks to share beauty
Lovely ride. Maybe they were all quarantining. LoL When that music started I thought the bike was malfunctioning, or there was construction you were passing through. It srarted with clanging sound. LoL That dog just didnt care! Ha! Then you went up, up, up! I am jealous of your scenery. It is good for the soul. ;-) Oh! You went so high you were in the clouds! Wow! The town on the side of that hill! Fantastic!
Great! Thanks Pavlin once again for a superb video, you always transport me to far off places by the best means of transport known to mankind ;0). It's been 30 years since I was last in Romania helping out after the revolution,I'm glad to see the country is prospering :0)
So many Memories to that wonderfull country and its people, especially on Trans Faragasan. I`ve made that with my two sons. Can´t wait to visit Romania again.
Awesome man! After getting my licence and buying my first motor i cant wait for the summer to come, hopefully the borders will be somewhat open at the time :) Thanks for keeping me exited with your videos!
Brilliant video Pavlin. What a stunning ride and you put it across to your usual high standard. Many thanks for sharing and hopefully one day I can ride these roads to. Best wishes
Thank you again for another great video Pavlin 🙏🏻 While covid and weather prevent us getting out you are providing the next best thing until we can get out for ourselves, stay safe 👍🏻😉
You know I watched yet another of your videos today. You are riding down country roads at a sensible speed and the sound of your motor puts me to sleep every time. .. winter here and we are locked down. .getting ready to prep a DR650 for some travel like you. Unfortunately our distances are huge compared to Europe.
You managed to skip the rain an to enjoy an amazing view at the end on top! Still it would have been nice to spend more time in the beautiful Sibiu, perhaps next time! 🤘Greetings!
fortunately, Transalpina is less known as Transfagarasan, but it's awesome and has better landscapes, and quality tarmac. In my trip I was short of time and was thinking to go directly to Transfagarasan, but today I'm very happy to take the good decission and ride Transalpina too (Y)
You made the best choice by having this motobike trip to Romania, particularly in the places that you've been.. (about 4-5 years ago I crossed 7 times Transalpina within the summer time [6 times by motobike and 1 time by car], and yet not bored [but I am from Romania]). Next time try Strategica route.
Nice seeing the map in the tank bag in use. I do the same..Tech is great but you cant beat a map to get a bigger picture of your route and surroundings.
Just did 4000km through eastern Europe and also drove Transfagaras and Transalpina on a 38 year old BMW-K100LT, bought for €800. The BMW K-Series is perfect for long distances, and it is even fun on the highway. I frequently do over 1000km in a day when there is a highway. Did Berlin-Paris, Berlin-Ljubiljana and Berlin-Budapest in a day, in two day I will ride from Berlin to Verona. You can buy K-Series motorcycles in good shape between €1000 and €3000, the latter will be in almost perfect shape. You can go over 200km/h for extended periods of time, and fuel consumption is between 6-8 liters/100km, the 8 liters when you go 160+ all the time. It is the only motorcycle I know that even feels at home on the Autobahn; you can go as faster than most cars, and accelerate very fast. I have a 140hp Kawasaki Ninja as well that can go 270km/h, but you don't want to travel with it for a prolonged time faster than 160. So if you want to get into long distance motorcycle touring on a budget and have no ambition to travel that much on dirt roads, the BMW K series is for you, and everything up to K1100 is fine when it comes to repairs. You can do almost everything yourself, and to change the rear tire, you just need to loosen four bolts and can take off the wheel. My K100 also runs so cool that it does not need a fan. And you can take another person and luggage, and it still handles well. You have also plenty of torque.
From Transalpina road, you shoud have taken the path to Strategica road... it's an off road track that takes you on a beautifull trip for 50-60 km in the mountains... one of the best off road track in Romania (in my opinion)... Couple of minutes before you reached the peak (18:30) there should have been a parking spot and a gravel road on the left... Safe trips ;)
