Oh wow! I’m so glad you get to keep your Manako and get the Ilikai as well! Very well earned for being such a great promoter of not just the Kanile’a brand, but ukulele in general. It brings me joy to see you rewarded and happy! 🤙
Thanks for a great run through of lovely, lovely Ukes. Just shows the genuine caring nature of the Souza family and their appreciation of your hard work Alex, so pleased for you on keeping your unique Manako. Alex and Phil, all we need now is a release of one of your songs performed on your Ilikae’s 😉. Am also well jealous really.
I thoroughly enjoyed hearing each size of this beautiful Kanile’a, Alex - a real treat! (And you really did color coordinate your shirt with them, right? 😎)
What nice ukuleles and what a awesome some gift not sure I like a Maple soprano to bright adding low g is trying to fix something that shouldn't be unlike the tenors and baritones that are such a good fit with the maple and low g 🏝️💪
If I'd not bought a klos baritone recently I'd be buying one of these! But I've just noticed that there are many beautiful ukes and many great sounding ukes, but how rare is it to get both and also the beautiful design and colour is on all the sides. Many ukes have beautiful backs and hardly get seen.
As a beginning ukelele player who has played guitar over 50 years I’m very curious why you did not restring your ukelele for left-handed playing? Does playing it strumming “backwards” make it any more difficult for your brain to process chord charts? That may seem like a silly question but I would guess that even fingering the chords may use different fingers (although same string and fret positions) to accomplish what you do….
I'm just glad The Manako stayed with you. 💜
These are beautiful instruments. That is so kind of kanile’a to gift this to you and wonderful you didn’t have to sell your other.
I know. It's humbling honestly.

I now have a new aspirational soprano for the top of my list, it’s beautiful, thanks Alex
Absolutely beautiful ukuleles. Looks and sound.
Very cool! I love that you compared all sizes. Can't buy any now, but enjoyed listening. Thank you!

Superb Baritone!
As a fellow lefty and, seeing how much you wanted an Iiilkai tenor, I am so happy for you.
Happy to hear it all worked out. 😁

That soprano though :)
What is traditional soprano tuning please, it sounds beautiful
A D F# B - tune the uke up two semitones from standard tuning
What are the strums you're doing where you curl your fingers in?
Gorgeous sounding and looking ukulele and your playing is so wonderful.
I believe its called a rake.
Do the Pohaku’s sound the same? Just different color. Thanks and congratulations on the wonderful new ukulele. 👍👍👍
Yes and thank you 😊
Its a me...Mario!!!

And the same question would apply to picking patterns…..
I play my own ukuleles left handed. I only play shop ukuleles upside down.
Yes sometimes it's really difficult to transpose but I do my best.
