Honestly, I've run out of superlatives for your builds. It's always such a treat to watch all of them go from concept to final product to the sweet, sweet demos at the conclusion. Thank you for sharing these with us, and I look forward to more in 2024 and beyond.
I own a bass, as well as bass guitars. My bass has gut strings on it, they won't work on a bass guitar. If your bass is of a guitar design it is a bass guitar. Some people just amaze me that they know how to breathe with out being reminded. Beautiful work as usual, I told a friend about the coffee guitar from years past and he didn't believe me. I had to force him to watch!
Your videos are really inspiring. I've always wanted to get into building my own guitars and basses and watching you makes me feel like I have the power to get there. Always look forward to seeing your next build.
Just gorgeous. So happy you finally did a bass. I think most of us would kill for a bass that unique. Thanks for putting the time-stamp. I've always wondered how long it took.
That tele at the end was pretty! It looked like bright stars or fireflies in an evening sky above a darkened city skyline! Also, loved the little details you did on this bass like the penil end dot inlays, the just minor flavor touch of pencil on the headstock tip, solid touches. That tele though.... it resonated with me.
Amazing, I love all your builds but this one is definitely my favorite and your methodology’s have gone uber next level. I would absolutely buy it if I could but I really hope it winds up gracing many a stage by a talented musician for many to appreciate.
Gorgeous work. I love the little extra touches like the colored pencil inlay going the other way. I'm not super into the shape, but appreciate how the shape plays into the theme too. Wonderful all around.
Nice job! I play and build guitars too. Thanks for sharing some of your techniques! The inserts and bolts along with the aluminum bushings in the neck pocket looks like a great idea! So does the hardwood dowels for bridge mounting. I may try these in my next build. The guitar looks killer!
Come for the guitar builds, stay for the demos at the end! New subscriber from Australia here - absolutely in awe of your talents as a craftsman and a musician!
Great job!!! I never would have thought to use colored pencils for a guitar body. I really like how you cut the blanks to fan out instead of doing a straight run.
I love your videos, you inspired me to make a custom 3D printed Flying V body last year and I just finished it in October. So happy with how it came out and wouldn’t have been able to do it without seeing your videos.
i don’t play guitar or anything but i’ve been subscribed for years now and you make my absolute favorite videos on youtube i love your demos and the way you explain the building process
You continue to amaze me, sir. Truly. Watching your first build with colored pencils I never would have thought that I’d like the potential result. And in builds by others maybe I wouldn’t have. But your’s are always really interesting. I like that you were less linear this time & used the ‘lines’ in different layouts. Again… you continue to amaze. Well done! 👍🏼 I’m certain there’s an understanding to be had here that I’m clearly missing… but the effectiveness of the ‘antenna’ that was inadvertently made is only more amazing that it is down to a simple grounding error. That’s always boggled my mind. Primarily because having grown up in the age of ‘rabbit ear’ antennas rather than digital cabling, even in the most perfect of conditions, we never had the reception clarity that this bass produced. Not even once. LOL
You are truly a master luthier guitar Builder I really enjoy your videos thank you I wish you would show more I know you only have enough time to do as many as you can but I really enjoy them thank you good luck and God bless
This was truly awesome man. I think my favorite of yours so far. I love the pencils in the headstock! I always wanted to be a luthier. I want to build one someday myself!
just do it! I've wanted to build a guitar for years but for whatever reason never did. Several months ago I was talking with a friend of mine about those things that we've wanted to do, but always seem to just put them off and not do them. So we challenged each other to choose one of those projects and actually do it. We are checking in with each other once a month with a kind of show and tell. That gave me the accountability to actually begin my guitar build. I'm loving it. So glad I finally started. But as a noob, I'm taking it slow.
Tbh the neck stole the show for me. That flame maple looks incredible and the headstock design is perfect. I’m amazed by the quality of your work every time.
I once had a Boss Distortion pedal (back in the 90s) that could pick up Japanese radio. When you mix that with a flanger, it comes out crazy. Awesome job
So... I don't know anything about guitars, so that was new to me. But the craftsmanship and detail, plus the video itself with great angles and narration, is all excellent. Thank you.
Honestly a guitar/radio with a flick of a switch is genius.
You would like my SPACE Bass .
I really want to hear someone play a bass with that radio effect
He should of just left it like that. It would been the best radio ever! 🎸+ 📻 = 👍
DAVI504
The best I'd ever play, by just picking up someone else's music on the radio
I love how cutting colored pencils at an angle just looks like a stretched texture
It's trippy
@@Repent-and-believe-in-Jesus1and how am i supposed to do that
@@horatio2560by reporting that account
I was so confused as to how he did it
Looks awful imo. Really ugly trend
I cannot describe the absolute joy i felt when i opened youtube and saw Burls Art uploaded
It's about as fast as I can click!
@@Lank2thepast no doubt
@Repent-and-believe-in-Jesus1 ok i 100% agree with that and believe in that but why on this comment?
Go away@Repent-and-believe-in-Jesus1
It's been an awesome journey over the years watching you perfect your building techniques and learn as you go. Super inspiring stuff.
I’m not a bassist, but that bass is beautiful! And the Tele is beyond words. Great builds!
It doesnt have a truss rod so its unplayable
@@who3033, what doesn't have a truss rod?
@@Repent-and-believe-in-Jesus1god isn’t real 😂
Hell of a build, and glad to see a five stringer! Glad you show the time that goes into such a build, shows why it's worth its price tag.
Plus collectable
I bet he'll still get people complaining about it unfortunately
Plus just the art of the guitars themselves is way worth the price! He's almost asking too little.
5 string is superfluous
@@SonyaBladesBooty eh thats debatable, you get a wider range of sound from it, probably more useful in some genres over others

I love how you come up with cool new patterns for your colored pencil builds that makes them so interesting to watch and see how you improved!
Always glad to see a new Burls Art vid!

Yet another terrific guitar build & that Bass plays & sounds great! Happy Holidays to you & your family! 🎸🎸🌲🌲
Another great instrument!
It is always a pleasure to see a new video from you 😃
I love the monster noise the radio "preamp" made when you turned it on. I think the head design is great and the base is amazing.
Gives a whole new meaning to a 'tele-caster' if it can cast the radio haha

It’s for sale on his site.
I think this is my favorite guitar build you've done. Awesome job!
Absolutely fantastic build - so wonderful to see you create art out of such simple materials.
The inlay in the headstock looks awesome.
That neck looks really nice. The shape looks nice, the wood is beautiful but the pencils on the headstock make it instantly recognisable. Great work.
Really awesome to see how far you've come doing these builds. Amazing work as always! 👍

This was a journey I didn't know I wanted to go on. But I'm glad I did. Incredible work. Thank you for creating and sharing.
Nice custom radio channel. And it also shows how to turn your radio into an impromptu musical instrument!
Totally amazing. Beautiful work of art as well as a nice played instrument.
Oh that is a GREAT sound. Excellent to watch you work as always.
Gorgeous - from the look to the sound to the radio feature!!!
you're by far my fav guitar builder! i absolutely love everything you do! keep it up!
Masterpiece. Really beautiful shape. And the headstock is very stylish. I love the radio concept i hope you can keep it in the wiring!!
