😀 A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner - we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.
So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.
Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.
We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

Hi The Heralds Heralded - Glad you liked the video - Yes we also tried so many beds but they were all just a little short and we nearly settled with a design where my feet could hang over the end of the bed. The Adrian twin we have - now named Trudy - does just the job . How tall are you???

Will do. Also, how did you find your van in the end? Forecourt sales exploration or via online searches? We're trying the lot at the moment.
It was lots of looking on the internet and visiting showrooms - we got Trudy 2nd hand she's about 12 years old but just the right size for what we want to do - we decided on a van rather than a motorhome as easier to get round small mountain roads, cheaper on ferries etc due to size - just means we all live a bit closer with less stuff ha ha !!!!!

Having travelled so much around Turkey, is there anything you’d change about Trudie or add to her? Also what heating did you have and/or AC? Thank you. Wishing you safe and happy travels in 2022.
Hi Caroline - we have a Diesel heater (which acts as a fan too) and we have done lots of additions and changes - we have also added all the affiliate links of the kit we use - but If you are going off grid you deffo need a lifesaver jerrycan (we use it everyday) and the solar is essential for power - Best wishes and Happy New Year xx

Thanks Robert - We have been having a great time living in Trudy and are currently on a backpacking trip to Central America 🌴😍👍 Trudy is tucked up in Hampshire for a couple of months and we are really missing her ... but this adventure is just getting better and better !! Great video guys. Yours loos like a Hymer production is it? Looks like the same internals as our Eriba. Regarding the window sun screens, always treat them with extreme care. They mis-align and crease pretty easy without due care. Pull them down gently and make sure nothing is in their way on the runner. I hope that helps. Rod & Julie.
Hey thanks for the advice Rod & Julie - Yes the window screens do feel fragile so no heavy hands !!! We're really happy with 'Trudy' the TREAD campervan - she is currently having some work done - we're adding LPG tank so we can easily fill up with gas as we travel. We're also adding solar panels and wifi system - essential for our TH-cam videos !!

A little rude to ask. How much did this set you back? How many kms when you bought the van?
Hi - no probs - she cost £18,500 (just over 3 years ago) and she had 40,000 miles on the clock - one previous and careful owner and she was built to last !! woo hoo

ha ha yes I used large part of our savings to get some good equipment to hopefully bring you all better videos - its a long learning curve but its getting easier !!. If you check out the videos we made in Penang and Borneo some of them are really funny !!! We had an amazing time there :)

Mind you it was good seeing the camera video compared to the go pro more people will start to buy that camera for general video possibly in preference to the gopro the sound and visual quality is good standard
yes the first videos were on my older gopro hero silver. Marianne dropped it in Penang so recently got the new gopro and it seems much better quality than the 4

hi Fortune Bloggers - yes we are - The plan is that we want to step foot in every country in the world either in Trudy or with our backpacks. Europe will definitely be in Trudy our van. We are researching how to ship here to the US and visas etc. We don't have a fixed plan but this is a long term plan - hope that helps any other questions feel free to ask - thanks Chris & Marianne

Thanks Pamela - sorry for the confusion - originally we couldn't make up our minds if we should sell or rent and decided in the end to rent so we have regular income. Yes it was a little bit of a big decision but we don't regret any of it
