    Great vid. Thanks for the comparison. I bought the KPM200. I've had it for about a week. I too have a similar problem with the coolant. The fill nozzle on mine seemed cracked when I was filling it, but I'm beginning to think that's how it's made... some kind of pressure release or something maybe. Keep me posted if you find anything.

      See if your's squeaks when you turn the wheel and not running. Mine I believe has developed a squeak and it sounds like the stem bearing (will research further). Can't hear it with the bike running, and maybe it did it before, just didn't notice it.
      Update: Found the noise. It's the throttle cable rubbing where it goes through the slot before the throttle body.

      Oh yeah. I would avoid them. I didn't give them a bad review (oh was I tempted) because they finally came through. The BD-125 I got from them had a bent swing arm, missing the speedo gear, broke rear light (and a total piece of crap). It took over a YEAR to get the replacement swingarm and speedo gear (never got the light). The parts guy was courteous and tried to be helpful, sales was worthless and I finally threatened to sue them, then I got the parts. Check out Cajunmaddog, Alan was super helpful with both Mini's we got from him. I personally won't deal with Venom again (and I did let Lifan know of my experience).

    I read that the KPM200 get 102mpg. Can you tell me what the X-Pect gets? I'm a delivery driver and ride a scooter at the moment. Now that I'm saving for a larger cc bike, I was pretty impressed with the claim that the KPM gets 102mpg. I found a fairly large delivery topbox, and was thinking maybe of buying that 150cc Znen knock off of the Big Ruckus to carry it. It's like a 554 Liter delivery topbox, and that Big Ruckus knockoff would probably carry pretty well, considering how durable it's build looks. Still, 102mpg is really hard to beat, if it actually gets that mileage. Can you confirm that claim?

    • @gregslair4278
      @gregslair4278  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi. I can't confirm the gas mileage, but mine has about 330 or so miles on it and I think I only put gas in it once. It should be similar to the Kpm since their basically the same engine, though the Kpm is a 6spd. Super nice bike they both are, and the KP Mini as well. The Mini is much smaller, but is also a 150cc. And if your used to scooters, the Mini might be a better choice. Just gotta find a rack for the back of it.

    • @gregslair4278

      It (in my opinion) is an excellent first bike. Weighs about 320lbs (so a little better in wind), not stupid crazy fast to kill you in an instant, but can do almost 80 (which CAN kill you). As far as reliability, Lifan has been around for quite some time and make quality bikes (it is comparable in quality to my Suzuki VanVan). It's Fuel Injected, so starts right up, is liquid cooled and a 6spd. And (again in my opinion) is pretty badass looking.

    • @bmxriderforlife1234
      @bmxriderforlife1234 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gregslair4278 kpm Is pretty sick looking. And I've driven like non licensed gas scooters and dirt bikes. And also done a dumb bad thing as a minor over a decade ago and ran a pull on my buddies bike....
      But like more so is it something that'd hood up for a decent time with basic maintenance. High way speed where I live is 110 for the faster high ways. Kph not mph. But I think that's around that 80 mark.
      Just don't wanna have the thing pinned with no extra give at high way speeds. If I have to avoid certain ones so be it. Would be nice to be able to hit them all.
      Also trying to look into any possible engine upgrades for a little bit of get up and go. Noticed even the lifan 350cc bike is only the littlest bit more powerful. Was originally hoping I could buy the higher cc sports bike from them second. 450 isn't so bad. Then go 750 or get a Ducati. And then once I can insure something with a harley motor build my custom. But down the line gonna basically drive line swap and cheaply customize the kpm into a like 450cc bike of some sort of engine. Kpm stock engine and tranny if it holds up and I can get it to sound right with an exhaust job was just gonna use it to build a project hard tail. Bar hopper bike so to speak but more so coffee in my case. Don't really wanna ride a hard tail on the high way so kpm is fast enough if I can do a bit of performance stuff to the engine.
      Saw something about a tune chip from venom. Heard of people doing cam and bore stuff but not sure what bits are usable.
      Insurance works basically almost buy engine displacement here. They don't always take actual engine performance into account. Buddy got 2 bikes that are the same model but separated by a long time. Pays about the same insurance wise. But ones literally twice as fast.
      200cc bike market is weird where I live as well. Either beat to shit or priced too high. Or nice deals but haggle forever.
      And gets me a cheap Cafe racer platform I can potentially engine swap. And potentially a cheap chopper project motor.
      So from what you know. Any of this feasible. I know for the cafe racer I probably have to find a different engine meaning different second bike now. Not enough horses on the larger displacement bikes. But 200cc engine actually tweakable at all? And gonna last beyond the 2 years. Frame durable enough for a proper Honda engine making like 70 hp or so?

    • @bmxriderforlife1234
      @bmxriderforlife1234 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gregslair4278 I've played with faster gas converted pedal bikes btw. As well as done 70 mph on a pedal bicycle under human power. I know the handling the hardware and responsibility so to speak. If not for insurance and might still try and swing it I'd just buy a 500cc bike to start.
      But part of the reason for the projects is I work in the film industry and trying to get into picture vehicles. Some project vehicles as fun bikes and cars could be useful for that on low budgets.
      Hard tails are easy. And picture vehicles don't always have to run very much and usually not super fast.
      200cc hard tail could be fun especially if I can get a bit more out of the engine. And it should sound more chopper like then a crotch rocket motor. But if I can drive the kpm around longer and make it high way speeds let's me find the right stuff for a swap.

      Kpm in a year or two would get stripped down. Used 450cc crotch rocket for a year or two when thats done strip that down engine from that into the kpm. Kpm engine into the hard tail frame with a straight pipe exhaust. Be a cool little bar hopper though.

    I am guessing it might have to do with the power to weight ratio, but Lifan really should consider using the sweet engine from the KP/KPR/KPM200 in the X-Pect.

    • @gregslair4278
      @gregslair4278  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. The X-Pect is only a little slower, and only a 5spd. Don't understand why you their logic. Now theirs the rumored kp350...

      @@gregslair4278 I have been checking the EPA/DOT list to see if it shows up. I get impatient since the list is updated every few months, and because of COVID has been delayed. The last list was updated in April. Following the list and Chinese bikes is a lesson in futility, as with many bikes in the past, they get shown on a distributor's site and are not certified for up to 18 months to 2 years. Let's hope that is not the case. I am awaiting their 450cc adventure bike, myself. But I do like the X-Pect, and the KPM200, and even the KP200. I am trying to figure out the perfect commuter.

      The X-Pect is more comfy and once their both broke it, I'll test them again. The X-Pect is a bit slower, but for what I ride, it doesn't matter. However, the X-Pect is a taller bike and I think it creates more wind resistance. I need a windscreen for both. Ordered one I had on the TNT135 for the X-Pect, it just haven't showed up yet. Dunno what I'm gonna do the the KPM.

      @@gregslair4278 I rode a TMEC 200 ENDURO dual-sport for 4 years back and forth to work, and I could have used wind protection. Even here in the southwest corner of AZ where it is super hot, as in HOT in the summer, there were mornings in the winter where the temperature was in the high 20s Faranheit. When I changed to a 150cc scooter, the wind wasn't so bad due to the design. I will just need to invest in cold-weather riding gear. I guess I could look into the Lycan cruiser, but then the costs are going up. My son works at the same place I work at as a corrections officer (I am a civilian worker) and he is interested in the KPMini 150, LOL.

      I really liked out TNT135, but just felt too big on it (I'm only 5'9), but it'd move so I'm guessing the Mini would perform even better since it's a 150. I've rode a few times in the cold and not a fan, so I drive my truck.

      The weight wouldn't be an issue. I'm only 5'9 and am quite comfortable on it. If anything maybe some taller bars or try pulling them back more. I don't think you'd have any issues riding one though. Our Benelli was a few inches smaller and I was fine on it.

      They are both excellent bikes and it's hard to pick one over the other. The KPM is faster, but the X-Pect is more comfortable and sits you up higher. The KPM corners better, but the X-Pect you can take off road (which I suppose if you changed the tires on the KPM you could as well). You can't go wrong with either. But with the ability to go on trails with the X-Pect, I'd lean more towards it. Hope this helps.
