When at the south end always make sure that you are on BLM Land. There is a lot of private land and it is not always posted. The Virgin River Land Preservation Association has posted a comment on the Virgin Dam page. I sent a note off and they were very kind in their response. They are working hard to keep some of the land open for non motorized recreation so are worthy of our respect. If in doubt there is a BLM office in St George 345 East Riverside is the address I have. Love the mountain biking in this area so with our help and consideration we can keep it open.

For the dispersed camping spots you just need to find a spot and pitch a tent! You'll need to call the private campgrounds to find out about availability. 🙂
Great video. Thanks. We're planning to go with a RV this June. I have a question for your expertise. Do you recommend driving our RV to the visitor center, park there and take the shuttle around the park, and then leave the park with our RV and stay overnight at one of these free camp sites you stated in the video? Do they allow us to park our RV at the visitor center during the day, but not staying overnight?
Hi Edgar, no permit needed. It used to be open for camping anywhere, but now it's limited to 2 designated spots so we re-named it on Campendium: www.campendium.com/hurricane-cliffs-campsites-55-56 There are more spots on the other side of the river - so check out nearby Hurricane Cliffs sites as well. :)

Dont stay at any of those locations if you want to visit zion. Stay at Smithsonian Butte Road near Rockville, or North Creek Road near Virgin. Those places will save you up to 50 miles round trip from the South Entrance. There is very little of the park to see at the East and North entrances.
@@wolferine6466 yes, you can drive up to Kolob Reservoir and hiked into the Kolob Canyons on the North End of the Park. There are places to car camp right on the park border.

I carry my kayak with me so need a good place to play ...sit on top so no wild rapid s 😃
How safe is it to leave your trailer parked in these places if you're going into the park for the day?
