My 87-year-old father passed away April of last year. My grandfather handed a farm down to him and he handed it down to me. That’s exactly right you can’t buy that kind of dirt cheap. We’ve been here since 1945 and not going anywhere.
Sorry to hear about him
@@tylerchisholm-hw3bz thank you he was my hero
@@chuckrussell1686 no problem and when I seen the year 1945 that’s when the solviots fought the germans
@@tylerchisholm-hw3bz yes it was sir
@@chuckrussell1686 I still remember that cause I was playing call of duty world at war when I fought with the solviots in the game
This is REAL country music. Thank you Cody Johnson, for keeping some of those country roots alive!
Not a country music fan here...but it's growing on me. When I go through the radio station, I listen to a little of everything but rap. Some of the new country music I hear, sound just like an R&B song, it's crazy. I can't believe it. This is a real country song to me. In my 40's now and this type of music is starting to make more sense to me.
@@Hughesburner The country now days isn't country music. Yes the artist or bands grew up in the country but don't live the life style like Cody Johnson, George Strait those two are real Texas cowboys and Cody Johnson also does stuff with the rodeo circuit. Justin Moore is another one that lives the life he sings about.
One of the few REAL country artists who deserves to step foot on that stage.
Thats should hit number 1. Man what a song!!!
On its way...
I was driving on the highway when I first heard this song. I had to pull over because something got in my eyes 😢. Beautiful song.
In era where country doesn't always feel country Cody's voice is country. His story telling in his music is country. It's a breath of fresh air
For those of us who've been blessed with daughters, this just hits harder because you'll always remember your daughter being that "little girl".
ive got 2 sweet girls. 5 year old and a 2 year old.
Blessed for my girls but I lost em when my oldest was abused so I did what dads do, I love em but they don’t have anything to do with me
I can just see the country singers of old looking down smiling and saying " now that's how it's done boys" 😊
The dog line got me.
Good to see real country at the opry again
Keeping real country alive, great job Mr Cody
Man, I cry every time I hear this song because who hasn't lived a sort of life like that that they can't relate to. Thank you all for keeping country music alive!
And thank guys like Cody who keep the country spirit proud and strong.
Best thing I've heard in a while. This guy is so good.
Me and my husband both farm our family farms. He is 7th generation and I am 5th generation farmers. Family farms are the backbone of this country.
He’s the one of the best modern country music singers.
Most new country music singers ain’t country.
My dad bought 8 acres in ‘76, worked the land, I even rode the tractor down through town to cut it and he and my mom eventually built their final home there, built a large shop and even dug a bigger pond. The pond was his place of solace. It was where he and the grand kids would be out fishing all of the time or where he’d be out just feeding the fish from the pier.
In November he was taken after five years of battling cancer. May 18th my fiance and I are due to be married on that pier. From all of the memories he and my mom created and eventually those created by everyone else who visited, it’s something you could never put a price on. This song resonates greatly and can’t help but tear up every time since I’ve heard it.
This brown-haired, blue-eyed girl just sent this to my Daddy. Thank you for your beautiful music. 🫶
Wow this makes me cry an ocean 🌊!! I can’t stop crying 😭
Anybody here remember a tire swing? My grandparents way out in the country had one
Some of the best days of my life😊
The holy spirit of country music manifest to CoJo. Protect him at all cost. ❤❤❤
Thanks you Cody Johnson for playing real country music. Cody Johnson my favorite country artists in country music. I am a fan Cody Johnson fan.
I'm proud to say Cody is Texas! Thanks for keeping it country even through all the success.
Thank you Cody Johnson for saving country music!
Josh Phillips is the genius behind this song. Cody is a great steward to this career song Josh penned for him
If you don’t own your own land, or inherited family land, laid a dog to rest, or raised a family, You won’t ever feel the full feelings this song produces
Holy cow man!
I'm only 21 and I know this song... it's not that... it's life and how much you go through... why would anyone leave it?
You don’t even own your own land tho the government does.
Asian likes this kind of country. From Philippines
Love our little farm here in the Ozarks . My little girl grew up here even have a swing she played in . She says it will never be sold .sure hope that holds true .
Went from field boss to Grand Ole Opry. Good job. Timeless song.
pure gold
The part about the stray really hit with me
One of the greatest in country music and music in general.
I picked up a wooded 80 from a farmer last year who went to a nursing home (she passed a couple months ago). My 7 year old made it very clear to me that I can NOT sell that land ever. I told him I do not have plans on it, and he better not ever sell it either when I'm gone. That's our hunting land.
hunt one for me and my dad who will be watching over you and yours from above
What an amazingly talented artist.
Thanks for making me cry Cody, jeeze! Such a simple song, so powerful, full of heart. Love it.
Aldean and Carrie in the studio support ing Travis, great! Excellent song!
Everytime I hear this song, I cry when he mentions his hunting dog. I lost my yellow lab male, Remi earlier this year, cancer and CKD at 11yrs old....he was my best buddy and my hunting partner 😢
Same here....I lost my Lexie at the end of March to cancer I can't get past that line in the song without crying
Nice to hear actual "Country music" for a change!!!!! Great song.
This man sounds so good Live! I think its better than record
What a beautiful song that touches the heart deeply.
Real country right here
I have no children of my own but I can definitely relate to my dogs being my best friend. U don’t find the love of a good dog in humans, nothing better on earth
💯 ❤😢
Great performance!
this song make me cry every time 😢❤
❤️😊👂😍 AWESOME SONG
Great music, amazing vocals and band !
This is my absolute favorite song of his, and my baby girl loves it too anytime she’s upset in the car if this comes on she is instantly at ease
Oh Cody another song that gets me all crying till I have a severe migraine. That makes you an amazing artist. ❤❤
Beautiful song 🎶🎻 great job Cody 👍💕
Good Morning from Germany ☕️ Country 🎧 Playlist 🎧Country...
One of the best songs I’ve heard in years
Prediction: Song of the Year. 🏆😉
One word describes this song for me ....... beautiful
Hes the best singers for this generation.
❤❤❤❤
hes my favorite country artists along with lainey
I saw Cody down in Champaign last year and had crappy seats but still felt his passion from a far! Can't wait till see him soon!
I love his music
This reminds me of the country music I grew up on in the early 2000s. I quit listening in the 2010s because most of the songs didn’t seem genuine anymore. This guy and Luke Combs are getting back into the genre
Jonathon Taylor here. I'm a fan of cojo and his music it's really awesome. My favorite song is tell you can't.
Not the running back right?
Guaranteed Gody Johnson,fine,delicate,beautiful😊
That song at CMTs was good too.
REAL COUNTRY...Thank You !
Beautiful song ❤
Such a pure voice and I don't know if he wrote this song but cudos to the writer (s) too
❤ love cody Johnson
This song brings back so many memories of my hometown. It was destroyed in a fire back in 2018. 85 people lost their lives and approximately 14,000 homes and businesses destroyed. Shortly afterwards there were several contractors and developers from out of the area trying to bribe kids with a $1,000 to convince their parents to sell their lots. Not too many people were sueded by them, and kept their property’s.
Koty you should smile because u are so loved buy your fans
Oh man… that’s good.👍🎶🎸
My pops owns 200 acres east of aurora Colorado with 4 fishing ponds on the property.. he’s owned the property since 96.. he never developed a house or any real estate but the property has a lot of sentimental value.. we spread my dogs(Tibetan mastiff and French mastiff mix) ashes there after he died, I caught my PB Wiper and channel cat out of there, religiously hunted for ducks etc.. my dad had a developer come through and try to buy his land but my dad said kick rocks.. it’s true, you can’t buy that kind of dirt cheap ❤❤🤠
I knew this was going to be great live. thank you
Thank you
would to love to see the opry live in person... and cody johnson is one of my favorites of the newcomers lately.. would love to see him live too
If you get a chance to see cody johnson go see him he puts on a great show

Cody knows this is happening all around us in Texas. All the subdivisions going in on the farm land. In Montgomery co
Hey all you Wallen fans let him know this is real country take notes or follow Jason I mean traylor swift to bee bop
I remeber when the dirt wasn't cheap . When I had my horses. Until I lost two of them had to bury them. Then my mom
And had to sell the horse's and the land.
Best buddy’s buried…..keep you money cause a woman can’t leave her dog….
Typical country voice ... ferm❤❤ you already play with Drake... try a duet .. this is good❤
Wtf...
It’s a good song and he’s a great singer, but the ideal of the song is a rip off of Craig Morgan you can tell and he can’t deny it
Rip off of which song?
Really I can hear this clears day. Craig Morgan wrote the song just like it long time ago.
@@patricktaylor6299 Which song?
@@mikedarren6658 you must not know much about country music anybody that knows anything about Craig Morgan would know listen to him. I’m not gonna do the work for you.
@@patricktaylor6299 Why is that such a difficult question for you to answer? I love Craig Morgan and have no clue which song you're referring to. But thanks for the insult...
