If you are flying a commercial jet then about 80-90% of the time you are looking at your instruments and not so much outside. Especially IFR conditions.

Thanks for the video. I'm new to VR, and even though I only see with one eye, I'm enjoying the benefit of not having to use a hat switch to look around, anymore. Being able to lean into the controls is a huge plus, for me. It lets me get close enough to read instrument, in a natural feeling manner. Now, I just have to wait about half a decade, to afford proper VR rig. I'm still rockin' a GTX970, on a FX8350. Definitely needs side-grading to an arcade cabinet, to make room for the proper rig. At the moment, it seems only FS2020 will let me go into VR, but with very low quality graphics. X-Plane's not having any of it. It'll start to show the enable VR hardware button, and when I go to turn on the headset, it takes it away. LOL Thanks for sharing.

@@travelwilder I'm monocularly sighted, but yeah. I still find the headset enjoyable. I see in it, the same as I do in real life. Since I naturally have a restricted field of view, the headset mimics that, too. I just wish devs would take sight impaired players into consideration. I've had to throw back several apps which had HUD displays in one eye, usually my blind eye, and other information in the other, and usually, the fonts are too small for me to see, even with fonts turned all the way up. LOL

Not much use jumping right into the aircraft if nobody knows how to set up the headset first...?

Very nice video 👍🏻 Actually I've stopped using my Quest 2 with XP 12 due to the blurry display on the headset (while perfect on the pc, with a 4070 gpu): which software have you installed on your pc for the Oculus? I've found only the one for Oculus Quest Rift and I cannot change anything in the headset, nei there the resolution nor the refresh rate.
    Thanks in advance

I decided to grab an OC2 a couple weeks ago. Finally had a chance to try X-Plane 11 in VR. Looks like I have a bunch of tweaking to get things smooth. I haven't tried setting mine to 120 Hz yet, but I will now that I've watched this video. I have a Ryzen 5800X with 64GB of DDR4-3600 RAM and an RTX 2070 Super, but I'm getting some frame time dips which is frustrating and really messes with the eyes. Just curious if you or anyone really, has some suggestions to get the best visuals to FPS from XP11. Has anyone heard if there Is a way to run AMD FSR in VR? That would probably help quite a bit. Thx and take care!

I also use VMI-Twick plugin which you can go to ravensimulations.com -> my settings and there's a link to download it there as well as the settings i use which could help. I don't have a lot of experience with AMD vid cards though....

Sorry if this is a dumb question but I’m completely new to VR, why would the check box in xplane11 be greyed out when I have my OC2 setup and working fine with other stuff?
It’s frustrating because I bought the OC2 solely for VR flight training. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
