If I recall correctly, they reversed the call because he didn't turn toward second voluntarily. Rather, he fell into fair territory because his knee went out.

Brewer Fan actually the rules were used appropriately in this case. IT was not him trying to turn towards second but rather he fell down.. due to injuring his knee
Yeah, if you watch until then end (around 7:30) a pinch runner comes on. Would have been great to see no tag, but hey this is their job and the rules are rules. Good sportsmanship by the fans to clap though, that was nice.

I first suffered this injury 8 years ago. It was brutal, but I limped it off, iced it, and it seemed to heal fine after a few weeks. Then I had a recurrence. I didn't realize what was going on and I was too stubborn to see a doctor about it. The knee cap dislocates and then immediately pops back into place. I suffered probably 12 dislocations before I finally got the surgery a year ago. No dislocations since. If he doesn't get surgery, I'd bet money it happens again.

When players have bad injuries, why do the broadcasts have to replay the sickening injury over and over? I remember when the Redskins' Joe Theismann had that horrific break in his leg. When I heard the sports announcer say, "Let's look at that injury again," I changed the channel.
He won a gold glove the next year, hit 30 dingers and bats lead off with a .270 average. He is fine now.

This reminds me of my knee gave out and my junior year 2005 baseball team the doctors told me I could never play again ever again but I I finally started walking I finally got to play baseball again in 2005 June year about four games and my knee gave out so they had to medicine on my knee my left knee

Burlap Sack It sucks that he got hurt but you still have to play the game. Calling the sport shit because he tagged him is pretty silly. For the most part, baseball players show a lot of respect to one another just look at how Derek Jeter was treated during the all-star game. In the players defense, he does not know how bad the injury is, he could have just tripped over the bag. Soccer does do a good job at stopping play for injured players but they could use some lessons in honesty when they fall down in the box with no contact or dive then tell the ref to book a defender. That does not seem very courteous and by your logic could be used as a reason to call that sport shit.

As for these injuries "changing players"... rarely with this type. It's an MCL injury, not an ACL. The vast majority of the time players make 100% recoveries from this. Some even play through it, depending on the position. But an INF position that requires so much lateral movement, which an MCL's main purpose is for, it just aint happenin.
If it were an ACL I'd agree, he may never be the same again.

The player has to attempt to go back to first, immediately after passing the bag, or he will be ruled out if tagged. The play isn’t over until the runner is back at first base.

That is why you run through first. I know he was trying to round because the ball was going into right, but you can't just put on the brakes when you're running full speed something is going to give way. This is certainly a freak injury though. Hope he is doing better
His knee twisted and it forced him to "round the base" (I use that loosely here). He was going straight through.
He was never rounding the bag. Rewatch this again. His foot hit the edge of the bag forceing him to injury his knee and forcing him to act like he was going to round.
