Believe it or not, I actually had this game growing up lol. I sent in for it back in the 90s and even talked to one of guys behind Active Ent. who sent me the game.
Dude one of the "college kids" that created most of the games, concepts, and music for action 52 on the nes has an account on youtube his name is zentanith, i think that Mike should contact him!

I grew up with Alfred and the Fettuc Its one of my favourite games!
I liked the one where you played as Captain America shooting Medusa with a lazer gun on Mars.

Action 52 was the biggest cash grab of the 8 & 16 bit era, hands down!. Dismal shovel ware!.
ultimately they tried to do something amazing, 52 games in one cart, such compilation games would later on be successful for PC, they just tried to bring that to the console market, but the tech was far too limiting.

@@heckinbasedandinkpilledoct7459 see i disagree with that, and why is that? because we've had a bunch of GOOD compilations over the years, cant tell me otherwise. if a studio put good time and money into it, Action 52 could've been a hit, instead of shit. :P

Well, there's some imagination that went into a few of the games, and I'm always impressed when someone can put so many different games on one system with all the different controls and mechanics and so on, as well as have a menu and scoring system and so on that takes everything into account and isn't completely broken, but that's about it.

There was also gonna be an SNES Action 52 but it got cancelled.
Likely because it was so much harder to make unlicensed games for it. There were very few unlicensed ones, "Super Noah's Ark 3D" being the only one I know of.
@@jeffb.6642 Actually i think it was cancelled because Active Enterprises went bankrupt after releasing the Genesis Action 52.

people tend to forget that the deadline was pulled back on the developers, who knows what it could have looked like if they had the chance to finish their work on the games

I watched this just after watching the Action 52 NES Stream and I have to say all these games look not too bad.
Mike is a beast for playing this
Did you realize the difficulty of the games were color coded? When the cart first loads, it shows what each color of the title means.
For what it's worth, the best games tend to be stuff you'd see on Atari, but considering this is 52 games in 1, it's basically like that Activision Atari compilation I played on PS2.

I mean, on the skater game, at least you were able to go behind the stop sign. So they got right what some NES games got wrong. :p

I actually don't mind any of the games on genesis Action 52. It's definitely an improvement over the original NES one. Though that's mostly because they had the help of an actual game making studio.
