speaking of eye makeup on italian women- i just wanted to share with someone that today i saw this woman who was probably in her mid 70s to 80s wearing the most intense. THICK. fabulous pitch black eyeliner all around her eyes. and out in a swooped shape. she looked so cool and edgy and i wanted to be like “girl SLAY” but it was definitely not the right setting for that comment. but slay she did.
Oooh thanks for sharing. You definitely should have said something. And that’s a lesson for me too. I rarely dare say stuff like that to people but I should, we should. 😅
I would have NEVER guessed that the lovely taupe-y grey color that perfectly matched your sweater would've come from a sparkle-y teal eyeshadow! Really goes to show that you need to apply makeup to truly know how it will behave rather than rely on whatever you see in the pan 😂
I’m always a bit sad when people go to botox when their face starts aging. I mean, people do what they want with their body. And I understand the pressure that’s put on aging women. But … if everyone, or at least, a lot of influential people do it, I feel it’s making it harder for people who don’t go that route (be it for financial or other reasons) to feel confident in their skin. And to be viewed as equally worthy by the rest of the world. You know ?
I’m in my late 40’s and have never had botox etc, but I know lots of women in their early 30’s that’s been getting it for years and was told by one of them I needed to get it😂 I do feel like women feel they need to get it at a younger and younger age now
@@erinmhit actually does affect you. Women want Botox because of beauty standards which prohibit aging. Women getting Botox reinforces these standards. The expectations placed on women's appearances get stricter and more extreme, and the penalties for women who don't meet the standards get harsher. We live in a society
I’m not sure why another person choosing to do something to their face makes it harder for another to feel confident with their own. I work with 20 year olds who have lasered every last hair from their body, 30 year olds using Botox, 40 year old filling their lips, 50 year old living of meal replacement shakes . Non of it affects my decision to not do those things or my confidence in my hairy, voluptuous body and wrinkled face!
Turning 60 and never had Botox. I think being an influencer brings enormous pressure and this new backwards ageing trend is pressuring ‘older’ TH-camrs. Kelly Gooch just posted a good take on ‘high maintenance to go low maintenance’.
Black mascara will always be goated ❤ people have been spending so much time trying to match their mascara to their eyebrows but to me peak coordination is between the thick black lashes framing the black pupils of our eyeballs 👀 looks soo gooooood 🙏
I am sure you have a reason for wanting to try botox etc, I just hope it isn't societal pressure or thinking any of your beauty has waned! As a poet/artist I am sure you find so much beauty in people of all ages as they transform with time, and I hope you do feel the same way for yourself! Though I know there are plenty of other reasons to try it, even just for the sake of itself
Hi Hannah, I watch you for many reasons but a few are - I am a mom of two young daughters (4 and 6) and I am 47 years old. I spent most of my adult life creating a world for myself and for the past 6 years I have been transforming that world. Sometimes that transformation feels so foreign that I need to look for an anchor and you have helped me find that. and 2) I used to live in the DMV and you thrift shop at a place I used to go to often in DC. That small location connection makes me feel closer to you and your content. Hope that is not too creepy. Anyway, as I enter my 48th year I am embracing my skin more and more. Getting comfortable with my wrinkles and imperfections. Look forward to see how you traverse this stage.
This is such great news to me, I was just rewatching some of your old eyeshadow videos last night for a little inspiration and musing that I can't expect you to have a very young child and also want to wear complex eyeshadow looks these days but that I needed a little sparkle from somewhere to get me through the day.
Everything comes into phases! I have always been super into glitter but the natural makeup phase consumed me as well. I settled for popping Clionadh eyeshadows all over my lids to look like I tried really hard. The Phytosurgence eyeshadows are so pretty for easy neutrals!
Omg your analysis of why it’s hard to do lamination with a pigmented brow gel is something I’ve been struggling with but never thought much about why. If I get them laminated enough with it, I don’t like the pigment distribution. You nailed explaining it!!
0:47 when you said “turn lewks” I jumped up, I have a makeup podcast called ‘Turning Lewks’… was just like what now 😮 haha Glad you’re feeling makeup again ❤
I got that spark back for more creative make up and hair when my son was almost 2. I think at the point where you can afford to do a bit more and not have it feel a little pointless. Also it was a bit... I don't know, kind of like I was reclaiming part of myself that I'd had to have wait on the back burner for a while. Love to see you more excited to turn "lewks" again. 😂
It’s the getting back to yourself postpartum. I experienced the same thing of little interest in stand-out makeup during pregnancy and the first 1 1/2 years after birth. But right around 1 1/2 years I had a bit more time for myself and found dabbling in makeup more was of interest.
As a 40 year old myself, I understand the desire to do something about the fine lines creeping up. I have friends who get “baby Botox” every 4-6 months and have had beautiful, natural results. I make myself a hydrating toner mask with facial cotton whenever the lines seem more pronounced. So far the deep hydration has managed the issue well enough for the urge to Botox to dissipate.
I pretty much wore no makeup when my kids were under 2 and then went full glam in 2018/2019! Everything goes full circle and it's wonderful to have different seasons of life.
Hannah, I love your channel. Your videos always have substance, which can be hard to come by on TH-cam. I noticed that you never mention any sunscreen in your getting ready videos, do you use it? I’m kinda new to your channel, so you’ve might’ve talked about sunscreen already, sorry if that’s the case.
I have been using the Ami Colé mascara and I love it. I also have that Make Beauty shadow and would never have thought to apply it to get that cool gray shade and now I need to try it.
Hannah idk if you remember my comment from your knitwear video the other week but I just got my Babaa sweater in the mail and it’s HEAVEN. I’m wearing it right now. Thanks so much for all the videos ❤️
I’m turning 40 in 3 weeks and I’m def trying Botox this summer. I wait any longer and my forehead lines and frown lines will SET. My sister did it (she is couple of years younger) and it looked amazing! She wasn’t frozen at all, had all the movement there still she just didn’t have the tense and frowning rest face. Can’t wait to see how you get on with it!
This look is stunning! Honestly often my everyday look is just mixing auric glow lust with my moisturizer and then doing my eyebrows. If I leave the house I may switch from a clear lip balm to a tinted one. It’s only if I actually have plans that I go more in depth. Granted I’m lucky to have great skin I never really feel like I have to worry about as long as I’m doing my normal skincare routine (it’s terribly dry if I don’t) so that helps keep things simple.
As a certified klutz, I feel qualified to guess that she reached for some wood or accessories and bent over near the stove while doing so. Sounds like something I would do 😂

Everyone is most definitely not doing it. I can't afford botox and another woman choosing to go down that road has no affect on me.

What a sigh of relief at the title!!!!! 🥰🥰🥰 2025 is looking up
I look forward to the blue eye look from you sometime in the future. I enjoyed the look you created with the grey shadow!
when I saw you wear this look but before I even watched this video I was like "oh, an editorial grey Terry Barber look, love." Dishwater is SO back.
Woohoo! Makeup play time all the time

Yes! You are pretty much the only person I trust with makeup recommendations right now so I am very excited to watch this

Ahh, when I saw the eyeshadow in your last video I thought it was a beautiful dove gray! So fun to see the look come together here.
Everything comes into phases! I have always been super into glitter but the natural makeup phase consumed me as well. I settled for popping Clionadh eyeshadows all over my lids to look like I tried really hard. The Phytosurgence eyeshadows are so pretty for easy neutrals!
The teal eyeshadow looks stunning. I think it suits you very well, very glam and vampy.

I was originally rooting for the blue, but I LOVE how the gray turned out!! I'm definitely going to try to recreate this eye look. So pretty! 🖤🌻
This makeup intrigue you are experiencing is greatly reminding me of your journey into minimalist fashion
Here for it!

Yes! I've been so into creating lewks lately too

That's beautiful. I love the lips & eye shadow.
Auric is beautiful on clavicles :-)

I love the Ami colé blue so much I ordered a goldenrod color❤🎉 I don’t even like blue. 😂
This makes me happy
Loved this....Thank you!💜💜💜
Love a little natural progression. ✨
I like the short hair on you. I'd love to see an updated hair routine of how you are styling it.
I have been using the Ami Colé mascara and I love it. I also have that Make Beauty shadow and would never have thought to apply it to get that cool gray shade and now I need to try it.
“suddenly” 🙃🙃🙃
an insectoid feeling... girl, yes. I just put it on and go but I love listening to you
Don’t let Big Makeup win.
So random but do you sit on a roller chair? I kind of love the subtle movement especially when you are thinking/pondering things!
it doesn't roll but it does swivel. I think if it rolled...it would be too much for all of us
“Aging Italian movie star” 😊 📸

Just commenting for the algorithm. Have yet to watch. I’m saving it for the bath tonight.
Every time Hannah says "let's get into the meat of the video" I think, poor vegans, they can only watch the intro! 😂
honestly I think of it as nut meat. A walnut
Perfection❤

What sweater are you wearing? I know you mentioned the style and brand in another video but now I can't find it. :( It looks sooooo yummy and cozy!
it's COS from last year. They do this wrap silhouette every once in a while but I don't think they have one this season. Maybe try ebay!
wish i could wear makeup to work but my students would mock me LOL
Make up! Fun!

Also I love bespoke and covet it soooo much but I have more blush than I actually use at the moment so it’s not a smart purchase for me.
❤
I love love love my Botox. I highly recommend.
1 syringe is worth a thousand jars
I’m sorry… am I the only one confused by how you burnt your neck 😂
