So glad you and Kieran were on the end where Unal scored. A piece of magic. Awesome to have Keiran in the country to see some matches. Kudos to him for traveling from the other side of the globe for his Chez.
I love your game day vlogs. They give a taste of the fellowship and passion of being at a match to those of us who are unable to attend. Thank you. Up the Cherries. 👍🍺
Great VLOG as always. What a strike for the equaliser. Can't help feeling we should have won based on balance of play in second half. Whilst many will disagree, for me the difference was not having Tavernier. Fans understandably focus on the times he hasn't scored when perhaps he should. However he brings so much more to our team. His passing and defending stats are very high and he consistently creates goal scoring opportunities.
For most of the first half it was unorganized chaos and we were second best with Kerkez well off his game. Fabianski was excellent for them as was Kepa for us. Second half domination and a screamer from Enes gave us a deserved point and a draw was probably a fair result overall. Still think my prediction in the pre-match vlog that the cherries will go undefeated in December will hold up.
Thanks for the vlog Sam. Got a point without playing well you have to take it. VAR should not have got involved, even if the ball did lightly brush Tyler's hand it did not affect the flight of the ball and Fullkrug missed his opportunity, play on. Fabianski was brillant for West Ham and deserved the man of the match. Stand out players for the Cherries were Kerkez, Zarbanyi and Christie. Add Ünal as an impact sub, what a strike from him, absolute top drawer 😊 We were poor 1st half without the ball and seemed something was missing, could it have been Tavanier? Good 2nd half effort and a draw was certainly deserved but oh what could have been. Happy to see Little Old Bournemouth sitting 6th in the table. Up the Cherries 🍒🍒🍒
VAR and hand balls are really costing us this season. As for the game, I thought it was a good tactical match up between two managers who were really on their game last night. Only disappointment for me was that AI didnt send us through the middle more once it was clear that WH were going 2 for 2 against our flanks leaving that space. We exploited it later in the second half but could have done it earlier. Actually an enjoyable match to watch from a tactics standpoint. What a goal from Unal though. Even better when viewed from the side and the distance is clear.
I was worried before the match as we had had a 8 day break , maybe my imagination but we seem to come out of the traps sluggish after an international break and in last nights case a fixture lag !
I thought it was a great game and we played really well. First half we sat too deep and the long balls didn’t work. Kudos and Fabianski were incredible for them. The ref and VAR cheated us BUT Ipswich’s second goal should have stood IMO so we have had the odd rare one go our way, despite the desperation of VAR robbing us of points (Newcastle winner denied 🤮). UTC
I think that the bar has been raised and I was not at all negative with the result. 29 shots last night. Our position in the league is a massive positive. Been a cherries fan for 60 years. Eddie was the king but under our new ownership and manager we are becoming established as a premium team. Injuries are a concern..
The penalty was ridiculous IMO. The ball may or may not have gently brushed Tyler's hand, which he was trying to take away. But it didn't deflect the cross in any way, it still landed on Fullkrug's head. I can't see how a penalty is justified if it doesn't effect the cross.
Good game, it’s always a pity to talk about VAR when the authorities have had quite a few seasons to refine their approach. Still very inconsistent with these handballs. No common sense. Dango “handball” v Newcastle was a joke, last night was very harsh and the type that we thought were a thing of the past. Still pedantic “letter of the law” decisions that irritate….and another thing….why does the ref going to the monitor normally end with him bowing down to the VAR on discretionary decisions…stand up for yourself and stay with your original decision as you originally saw it !! Refs scared of the stiffs at PGMOL slapping their wrists more than using their judgment, or common sense.
I don’t know why you say you feel sorry for the fans who watched it on Monday night football everyone I’ve spoken to really enjoyed the game they Said it was entertaining.
We never got going against West Ham one of those games but we never give up.Not a penalty for me he was pulling his arm away but given by people 100 miles away but not by anyone in the stadium?.Fantastic free kick from Unal that's what he can do more of if given more minutes. It's a point & unbeaten in 5 games & 6th in the league I'll take that🍒🍒🍒
Started turgid, but got better! What were your observations from the game? We'll echo the best of the TH-cam comments in our Second Look! 🙌

6th place Europe incoming, up the Cherries from an Ipswich fan.

With nearly 30 shots on goal we should be winning this 😅😅
And PhilBil was there ready if needed!

Surely if you had done your homework on Unal before he signed you would have known that he was a bit of a free kick specialist?
Surely if you have watched AFCB games recently you’ll realise why it took us by surprise? 🫣
Apparently it is a penalty if you put your arms above your shoulders now. BUNG…….
