@@jordikeoni So I guess my original comment was appropriate... I grew up in Long Beach California, right next to Carson and Compton California where there were at least 5000 SAMOANS in the three cities combined... They didn't see any distinctions because they were all Samoans. Western or US...

For years i lived In a Samoan part of town, I will now tell you my observations..... Great people, Phenominal food! No Samoan owns a prius lol Only Suburbans, Tahoe, Yukon, escalades... And this statement is more common than not. I have 12 brothers and sisters... And alot of times if they are bringing the whole family.... 2 or 3 SUVs will be needed with 3rd rows. But i have never met a more brave and honest people yet.

When my mom passed away I was hanai’d into her friends family and they Samoans I learned to be very culturally intact with life God blessed me into a family oriented family very blessed
I'd love to see the US invest a bit more in the development of all the overseas territories. They are so much more than military outposts, and can enrich us all in their own special ways.
I was with the 25th ID at Schofield Barracks HI from 91-95. I trained with the Samoans in the field, they were the toughest SOB's I have ever seen. They are a great people, I have always said in the NFL if you want to win games, go get the Samoans.

This is a powerful documentary I am Fijian but I was born in Louisiana and raised in Texas so I have been around NFL culture my entire life. This is like any other island I learned about Jamaica and Reggae music is amazing I discovered this type of music as a teenager

back then in 90s and early 2000s you got these big big big linemen coming from the islands to play at mainland college campuses.... as football has evolved on the islands i hope we get to soon start seeing top pro players in other positions other than linemen...

Love to see so many rugby posts. Went to Samoa in 2015 and got the chance to play a bit of touch with them, I’d never felt so slow lol. Was humbled at how nice everyone was. Polynesians are seriously tough, not only phisically but mentally too. Faafetai lava.

I met the best race of humans the poly so strong huge but good ppl

I'm half Tongan and Romanian and I love both sides of my family heritage. Culture throughout Polynesia is similar, and my friends are always fascinated with it since it is such a small minority in the world. It's cool being a part of it.

I love the Samoan community in So Cal. I grew up in Oceanside Ca, hung at the pier a lot in mid 80s played beach volleyball til 2000. Lots of good friends whose names pass me by... Big Larry from tri city. Where u? Class of 88. Oceanshores HS.
