Fucking Jimmy Chamberlin is one of the best drummers on this earth.
and also a really nice guy.
All of these..amazing drummers. Chamberlain, Shelley, Cool..very underrated drummers.
top comment right here
I like how everyone is just like JIMMMYY.
Jimmy is a legend. Geek USA = best drums of all time.
Pneuma by tool
david willey hell yeah, it’s close man though . Ultimately they both have different styles. Honestly I’d say it’s neck and neck.
@@Chevy-hw6lw totally right two completely different styles....ive seen jimmy live more times than danny...but i think tools drumming might be a little harder even though I'm a bigger jimmy fan
@@Chevy-hw6lw imagine not only playing pneuma but composing it.
Fan of both drummers and bands both but Jimmy takes it here. I hate to say it but I feel sometimes Danny’s drumming gets a bit monotonous just like Tool. Don’t get me wrong here these two drummers are my favorites but Jimmy just has so much more. Jimmy has so many sounds, beats and styles it’s crazy. Danny while amazing can be a bit overrated at times and again his playing can get monotonous like Tool does a lot.
JIMMY effin Chamberlin, what else did he need to say i mean really? no one compares in this list
Jimmy is a real pro !
@@bradsullivan2298 unfortunately he's been replaced by a drum kit for a second time.
Jimmy chamberlin is the greatest living rock drummer, although this may be debatable there is a staggering amount of people who believe he is.
@@pedrobarnez5502 There is no “greatest,” only personal favorites. There are so many insanely talented drummers in rock with different strengths and styles. The fact that people want to argue that their favorite is the best is so strange, since things like “greatest” and “best” are completely subjective. That said, Jimmy is incredible and has been blowing my mind and inspiring my own playing for 30 years. A monster musician who actually keeps getting better.
@@pablozee6359 you are being coy, search your feelings ....you know it to be true....you know jimmy is the best(kidding Pablo)....seriously in all respect who is in your top 10 list ? I would love to know your perspective on the matter
Yep. Jimmy all the way. Dynamic. Groovy. Tone. Skill. Instinct. Style.
The Jimmy piece gave me the biggest shit-eating grin. I love his drumming.
same here
Huge Pumpkins fan and of course Garbage as well. Got the pleasure of meeting Garbage and to thank Butch for his work on Siamese Dream.
Butch Vig was the best Producer that worked with Smashing Pumpkins after a kick ass album like Siamese Dream why did they leave? Also Yeah Jimmy Chamberlin best drummer out the names mentioned.
Jimmy will always be the best
The next album they did 'Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness' was incredible as well with Flood and Billy mainly producing, but I agree....I'd love to see a reunion to get that big beautiful Siamese sound with Corgan and Butch.
I wish the Pumpkins would work with Butch or Flood again. Rick Rubin just does NOT do their sound justice.
I think the work SP did with Flood as the producer is far superior to their work with Butch. Not saying Flood is better in general as a producer, I don’t know a lot of his other work, but just in terms of his work with SP.
Billy addressed this not too long ago saying that SD was such a stressful album that after working with Vig on both Gish and SD they both wanted to take a break from each other.
JC . You kidding me? No contest .
SO many good drummers came up during the 90s. I've always loved Jimmy Chamberlin & Tim Alexander. It was awesome having Butch (who's a drummer) producing so many amazing albums and accentuating the drum tracks.
Damon Che & Jimmy are the best jazz-dna'd rock drummers out there. total swing cats.
+talpajam its amazing how underrated those 2 are in the general rock discussion
Jimmy chamberlain is the master Jedi drummer the rest are padawans. Jimmy has the spiritual feel the rest can bang possibly faster and better but that feel is unmatched imo
مرحبا انا ابحث عن صديقة ممكن نكون اصدقاء 🌹🌹🤭
There ain't one of those guys faster or more complex than Jimmy; no way in hell.
Chamberlain has such style. I try copping his grace note, rimshot stuff but w steady double base underneath.
I've been such a fan of Butch's for so many years...both with his band and all of the amazing records he's produced. He is such a treasure.
Jimmy C!
Jimmy, every time!
I love Dave, love Taylor, FUCKING love Jimmy, but all he said about Tré, who is my favorite of the 5, lasted about 5 seconds. Still a legend in music production and great drummer as well.
Jimmy C is the best ever!!!!
Jimmy Chamberlin.
this man is a badass
Jimmy and Taylor are just amazing
Jimmy all the way
ironic that jimmy is the last in the description
save the best for last
Jimmy fucking chamberlin man!
jimmy all the way.
Well put
He is blessed
Jimmy.. that is all.
That push pull thing, after learning to play guitar to the Pumpkins, has become so much an integral part of my ow style, it's insanely difficult for me to program drums to my music on a grid.
I have to record guitar, create a grid to that, program the drums to that, and then go back and kind of quantize it a bit with tempo/groove changes etc, and then go back and re-record the guitars. It's super tedious and driving me nuts lol. 😂
Crap... I think I need my own, personal, Jimmy... But there's only one.
Anyhow, I kind of play the groove on the guitar... Anytime I work with a drummer, I have to get them to stop thinking of playing a beat for me to play to and have to have them visualize the rhythm/melody in their head, hum or sing it in their head, and make their grooves to that. I imagine it may have been the same kind of deal when the Pumpkins replaced him with Filter's drummer for a period.
Other than that, I'd like to say.. I
met Dave in 98 or 99 and he was possibly the nicest, super mega star I ever met. Super sweet, warm, nice guy, with a great attitude.
Jimmy was nice too but a little edgy. D'Arcy had her trademark, sour attitude, but she was nice with a touch of I dunno.. A sarcastic, slightly sour attitude, that Billy has tried to describe. Totally cool though!
I had the same issue as a drummer. While I’m nowhere near Jimmy’s skill level I did take on the push/pull feel but it never worked with bands I was in and just sounded like I was lagging
The first time I heard gish was the first time I said "who's the drummer?" Instead of who's the guitar player? Jimmy Chamberlin is the best
He didnt have much to say about Tre because he got his big break with Dave drumming for Nirvana and Jimmy drumming for Smashing Pumpkins. He spent 2 albums working with Jimmy drumming, one album working with Dave drumming, but im sure he fucked around with the drums in the studio too. So that would give them an advantage.
As for Dominic Howard from Muse, i dont know anything about him, but i'm damn sure going to do some research because it really sounds like Butch was only a respect card away from saying that he thought he was better than all of the other drummers.
It’s a monster.....😊
butch vig looks like fantano in disguise
I'm surprised he states that Dom is the Neil Peart of this generation. I would have thought Jimmy Chamberlain would be technically the best drummer out of the list Butch mentions, and closer to Neil Peart?
Maybe from a technical standpoint Dom is on par with Neil Peart, but everyone ultimately has their own style.
I see Dom as like a less aggressive, but more technical Dave Grohl. Which is not a bad thing.
Cant hear shit, come on Butch hold the mic right
Danny Carey dude
Blah, Tim Alexander kicks all their asses!
Technically Grohl is the best, because he has the best time even though he's not the most skilled.
drummerboy231434 Jimmy Chamberlain recorded all those albums without a click track. Butch Vig drove Dave Grohl crazy with the click.
That leads me to believe that Jimmy actually have much better timing.
Chamberlain, all the way. Matt C is definitely underrated though.
Chamberlin boi
Have a word mate
