I hope the guy made this video lives in a rooftop on Brickell. This look decent compared with certain places of Miami. least you don't see garbage on the street. Go to Okeechobee , Hialeah south, Brownsville, Allapath, little Hiati, certain parts of North Miami, Opa-locka or Miami Gardens is worst and u'll be lucky if you don't get robbed at gun point in a gas station. This won't happen ever in Homestead which is peaceful. If you see cops is mostly due to immigration raids. I don't see the need to bash a hardworking community that all they want is to leave in piece. Homestead has now very nice areas toward Redland, downtown and the East. So using the word "worst" in the title is just not fair. These houses are decent houses.

RGA go to my videos. I have been to every single on of those places you mentioned. The tittle worst is my personal opinion... and to me homestead is worst than all those places. See my videos. If you look at Miami Dade crime statistics by city. This is West Homestead and Florida city are really bad. Florida city ranks number 1 for violent crimes in Miami Dade. Homestead has nice and really bad areas. Two double homicides here last week. High school girl shot and killed a couple weeks ago here. Homestead and Florida city have a lot of Homicides you just don't here about them on news because these cities are to far south.

I think you have hardworking blue collar folks here. I did not see anything too shabby. I wonder if the hurricane season hits harder here,, than further north in Miami, and if the land is low lying or higher ground to prevent flooding? I am in California, thinking of moving to this region, as houses are affordable, not like here! I also love the sea and would enjoy the wildlife so much, and the storms and rain. I lived in Homestead back in 2006. I hated it as a teen but I kept going to Hialeah as that was where I grew up. The area I lived in Homestead was off of exit 2 on turnpike and went west on Campbell Dr. Id pass the US Dixie Hwy and end up on 4th ave in between Campbell and Mowry. Honestly, it wasnt the best. However, I am told Homestead has changed quite a lot and I am looking to buy real-estate to for a rental investment. I am told everything on the east near the base and new hospital (i guess it aint new anymore) is where all the nice subdivisions have been developed. Unfortunately I cannot afford in Miami area so the realtor highly recommended homestead east off of the turnpike. What's your take on it?

I don't know what the people are like, but I watched most of that and didn't see any drug-deal loitering. The vast majority of homes and cars seemed pretty decent and well-kept. I lived in FL in the 70s, and there were some HOODS back then, poverty the way only the Amercan South can do it, with pieces of an industrial culture rusting among the weeds in between tarpaper out-buildings and a chicken coop outside the kitchen window. I live in Vegas and I could show you some HOODS from here and now. Judging from the looks of the place - which was the whole point of you posting your drive-around video - you have nothing to complain about.
